coach pops

When you are deep in the red zone with the defense in your face I HATE BUBBLE SCREENS AND QUICK HITCHES TO WIDE-REALLY WIDE-OUTS. They just flat don't work. If a DB jumps that pattern there ain't nothin but 95 yards and a smile between him and the end zone. Go vertical or slants IMO but stay away from 25 yd lateral passes. I'm allergic to em and nearly swallow my tongue when I see one coming. I have bitten my tongue so many times to keep from pissin someone off over these things that I have nothin but scar tissue in there. I will never coach another ball team or make a play call so I should probably never question someone els'es. Tear my a55 up if you like for feelin this way but that's ok. The risk just ain't worth the reward on these plays. Now I feel better ;D

I should be unpuckered by sometime wednesday. At least my heart rate is down to about 225 now. If our O squashes that turnover bug next week WE WILL BEAT DAWSON. This team reminds me of 01 when we played Friendswood 12-0 going in and we were 9-3. At the end Friendswood was 12-1 and done and Ned rolled into state semi finals. We lost to Smithson Valley that had 2350 enrollment at the time and playing 4A ball. RESPECT EM ALL. FEAR NONE OF EM. ROLL 20 4A. THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT. A GREAT 20 4A FAMILY!!!!!!!!

Dawson has a good team. Glad Manvel is D2. Stratford has my total attention right now. A really successful program. If we get a chance to play Dawson that will be a good game. Everything gets a lot tougher in the third round. I still have nightmares about LaMarque but we always played them pretty tough and Ned has a better club this year than our teams vs LaMarque. Anything can happen in high school football.

Oughta be a good game. Chapel Hill is the real deal. Gotta go with them. Henderson can play with CH.

To all Vidor fans,players, and associates. I had the good fortune to see Vidor play three games this year.Ned, Ozen, and Crosby. I am from Ned and will always be a dog at heart. I look forward to our game with you guys every year cause it's such a hard fought battle with both teams leaving it all on the field. I have been much impressed with you guys this tragic year and know a little about your heartbteak from losing a player. The same thing happened to me one time when a great kid I coached in baseball died in an accident. Words can never express the range of feelings you experience. You guys have a very good team this year and us ned folks finally became unpuckered a couple days after our game. People have called your style of play unsophisticated. I call your style of play physical hit em in the mouth ball control football. Let the naysayers think what they will. I've seen D1 college championships won with similar styles. All you have to do is execute and you guys do that very well week in and out. You get idiots like Crosby and some moron last night making hurtful racial comments of negativity toward Vidor. Evidently these jerks weren't there last year when Ned played at Vidor and you guys collected a substantial amount of money for the family of Reggie Garrett. That was the ultimate classiest thing I've seen in a long while. I have good friends from your town and have always been treated with utmost respect and courtesy when in Vidor for sports events or business. Bythe way I'm still so pissed at that mark idiot from last night that you could steam clams in my pockets. The best thing you guys could do to help me over that is shove a football up his invincible teams a55. If I wasn't taking my dad to see ned saturday I would be at your game early to get a good seat. When you play Mont. please do your best to beat them. You can and I believe. Play clean and hard but hit em in the mouth every play. Nederland is a good place to live and you'll always be welcome. you couldn't get me within 40 ft of that spark plug. I sure would like to see the dynamics though. Anyway lets talk some football. Ned has a good tough defense. Good size on the line-can play the run and good pass rush. Real solid at linebacker. Enough speed in D backfield and good instincts to the ball. Offense is fairly balanced. Lately have run the ball really well and can throw it over the top with good receivers. Real solid O line. Good QB. No monster arm but enough. Passing game hasn't been clicking like earlier in the year but we've played some speed teams lately that flat blanketed receivers. Very disciplined and fundamentally sound team. Don't make many mistakes. What ya'll got?

Since your dad was a coach then you should understand more than anyone that the very nature of their job opens them up to public scrutiny. No one has bashed the professional coaches, but are merely talking football on this forum. We in Nederland are fortunate to have good coaches, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions and expressions. Coaches are paid by school districts that are funded by the people on this board. I personally ran the numbers and am approaching $100K in school taxes from my approx 40 yrs as a Ned homeowner. I've never had a kid in these schools so if I have an issue to opine then I think I've deserved the right to do so but you'll not here me bashing anyone. If these ahole opinions bother you so much then I would suggest you not reading it.

wow. A shootout by two good teams. There I was dressed in my bulldog stuff and a few folks looked at me funny, but everyone was really nice. I was the older guy with two other older guys bitchin and hollerin and makin a general a55 of myself, but was treated to a great ball game. I even questioned some of the play calls like a three man line and chuckin it 40 yds when you're pickin up first downs and eatin clock with two minutes left. I felt right at home.  ;D You guys have a great program and if I didn't bleed black and gold I'd get me one of them purplee shirts (swallowing hard) and be a PN-G guy. Ya'll have already brainwashed my wife since she works at one of the schools. (she has lots of purple shirts and stuff) I'm pretty sure she gets water boarded at any given opportunity. She's an ex Ned cheerleader and I'm on the patio man cave watchin her now. She's in there with that thousand yard stare hummin na-na--na na na and mutilatin a gumbo chicken with a wooden handled hatchet thing. Now she has some purple powdery stuff to put in my gumbo. I just asked her what it was and she said love. (I'm gonna have to rent that movie"Stepford Wives" .) Thanks for tolerating me last night.

I'm goin to watch GPS beat Dayton. If they changed stadiums it's probly a conspiracy. I know. I'm gonna go to I 10 and find someone with a bunch of purple on. Then I'll follow them to the new stadium. You can't teach an old dog new tricks but sometimes old tricks work just as good. Does anyone know what a cherry key is and do they make a special sound? My 84 yr old dad says when we hear a cherry key we should be gettin close. ;)
