VP93 I’m on your side. But coach23 makes some honest points. Is Lumberton in a weak district? Yes. But so what! Look at University of Alabama’s schedule. They won’t get their first real test until this weekend’s LSU game. They’re still ranked no. 1 all year. And they deserve it. Lumberton has had some good years, and a lot of not so good years. Let the moms, dads, student players, coaches, etc. toot there own horns. It’s fun. It’s exciting! It’s the reason some of these athletes (kids) even go to school! And they deserve it! Coach23, I’m a realist. Sometimes it gets under my skin to hear all the hoopla, hand clapping and high 5’s over something you might consider average at best. But who cares! Nobody said Lumberton was going to state, did they? Let em have their moment to shine. A lot of those kids will never play football again after this season. I’m proud and happy for every student athlete that ever walks into the arena...that puts in the effort and enjoys every win or hopefully learns from every defeat. They are KIDS. Let them shine. (Man, I may run for office after that speech.) -
Lol. I was trying to take the high road. I hate it for the players though. Take the punishment and move on.

They broke the rules. Intentionally or not, pay the price and move on.

Earl Campbell probably got stuffed sometimes too. Don’t mean he wasn’t a running back... -
I’m sure in the last 24 pages someone else has made this point. I’m just too exhausted to try and sift through it all. What happened was a violation of the rules. Only the PNG Coaching staff knows the spirit of that violation. Was it intentional? Was it a misunderstanding? None of us know. Hell, I even saw comments from a lawyer on here. Lol. PNG has to answer for that infraction and move on. Opinions don’t matter.

Like I said, nothing against the young QB at all. Lumberton is lucky to have him. According to my sources which are from Lumberton and have kids on JV and Varsity, he was playing QB on JV, got brought up to varsity as a DB, then took over as a QB when the starter got hurt. Even against the lower level teams he couldn’t complete almost any passes. Idk if it’s his fault, the receiver’s fault or a combination of both. Truth is the stats say that Lumberton can’t complete the few passes they have thrown. Against Huffman, they sure could’ve used a more balanced attack in the 1st half. Why run the starting RB at all with the logic you gave? The few times he ran, did he run better than the backups? No. He’s not 100% is why. I wish both teams a healthy outing and a great game. It would be really cool to see that young QB from Lumberton to lead that offense to a victory and upset Splendora. But it would be just that. An upset. Good luck to both. I hope to see it in person. -
Back on topic. My original post was to point out the extent that our silly PC Movement has taken us. It wasn’t to start a race war. It wasn’t to pit Democrat vs Republican. It was to point out that there is no middle ground anymore. Richard Pryor, who was a comedic genius, had a funny skit: Pryor mocking a white man speaking: “Why you black guys always hold your ‘thangs’?” Pryor as himself: “Y’all done took everything else!” Being a white male, I could take offense. But I don’t. It’s funny. It’s friggin hilarious! It’s very stereotypical, and it’s very funny. I have Conservative friends. I have Liberal friends. I have friends of many nationalities, races, religions and socio-economic backgrounds. They are all human. I respect them all. While we don’t always agree on subject matter, we all respect that we each have our own opinions. The ones that don’t offer that kind of open-mindedness usually don’t stay in my circle. If someone is hateful and makes horrible racist comments, I don’t have a problem with their job being at risk. But if someone poses a question or asks an ignorant question that is not intended to be hurtful or aggressive or malicious, then isn’t the reaction to slam them to the ground just as bad? It’s almost like burning books because the books don’t agree with societal standards. This PC movement is an overreaction to what may have started with good intentions. We are thwarting our own individualism and ideas and intelligence and everything else good that we possess!

1. Your pass defense has improved against sub par teams and you just lost your corner last week 2. Your running back is still hobbled. What did he do against BC? 3. You’re QB has come a long way. For a brought up JV sophomore, he’s a player for sure. No disrespecting the young man at all, but how many passes has he completed again? Are you still “alright on offense”, or do you just want to believe you’re alright on offense. -

Honestly, I just think the poor guy is just an outsider. PABorn...Pennsylvania Born. He’s obviously some snobby northerner who doesn’t like southerners. Probably some rich white guy who looks down on our kind. Perhaps we should show some southern hospitality and be nice... I’m sure he would appreciate that. -

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this poor slob did some time in Lumberton’s local jail. -
Where does it state that?

I figured. It was an attempt to be comical. If you’ve ever been to a Lumberton game, everyone in the stands has puke blue on (except for the band - they wear black for some reason). -
I sincerely apologize, but I think I missed something. Was someone caught shaving points or cheating?

The issue is that Splendora does have a balanced attack and Lumberton does not. The Raiders can run. But if their run gets shut down, then they have no passing game to turn to. Splendors, on the other hand, can do both. Lumberton will have to pull out the stops if they want to beat Splendora. Splendora by 9 and take home the DC. -
There is no end in sight...
