  1. I'm not even talking about your color/race being poked fun at. So, next progression - is it fair to say that women have been treated unfairly since basically the dawn of time? I think so. So, then, should men never be able to dress like women?
  2. Lol...Well, it does and it doesn't. I don't think we should take an extra block on the way home to avoid the bully. If there's no harm in Eddie Murphy portraying an old (which Murphy wasn't), fair-skinned (which Murphy wasn't), Jewish (which Murphy wasn't), character then why shouldn't he be able to play that character? The PC bullies say we can't so now we can't - That's why! I just think we are taking things from one extreme to the other.
  3. Can't argue with that - Especially LSU's secondary that has the ability to limit the QB play. Still gotta take the Tide til another team proves differently.
  4. Lmbo...you're being too wishy washy. From your tone, I get that you don't have a real problem with it. Do you agree? You gotta help me out, I'm going somewhere with this.
  5. I think 14 is too high. Can't say I see LSU winning it though. Gonna be a helluva ball game.
  6. Ok. Take a white actor. Let's say Johnny Depp who plays Tonto in "The Lone Ranger" Or Eddie Murphy, a black actor/comedian as "Saul the Jew" in "Coming to "America" (he did an excellent job too...)
  7. What if it's not used to sterotype on race or the other - what if it's used to honor a person or to at least portray a person with no racial / stereotypical jabbing or being made fun of?
  8. No, I completely agree with that being a bad idea. My question to you was why do you think "Whiteface" is unacceptable.
  9. I'll say one thing - I don't have a real problem with the top 4... In that vein, anyone think Alabama / LSU 14 point spread is reasonable?
  10. I know Jeff and - WIN or LOSE - I would let my kids play on his team any day. The only thing I like more than winning is seeing a young athlete turn into a young responsible adult. I think Jeff provides that.
  11. It wouldn't offend me either - because there is nothing offensible about it. So why do you think it is not a great idea?
  12. Fair. Next question in the progression. Is "Whiteface" acceptable?
  13. Should they not do it because it isn't "a good look", or because it has racial implications which are hurtful to a race?
  14. BC wins this one
  15. That was exactly my thoughts too. But you never know what to expect when you mix a bunch of teen boys, stir in some coaches fighting for their jobs, massive redistricting and some Friday Night Lights!
  16. That's pretty fair Alpha...I think this game could potentially be so close as to be decided just like the LC-M / Splendora game...whoever gets the ball last will win the game. I hope both teams stay safe and play their hearts out. Can't wait for Friday Night! This is the game I've picked to go watch for the week, so I'm looking forward to a good one!
  17. They're both pretty equally matched. Lumberton's Big #23 might have the advantage over Splendora's Big #41, but they are VERY similar. Both are full time DE's on Defense. Both split time in the backfield with other running backs. Splendora's kid gets thrown swing and flat passes too (that's how it was when I watched them play LC-M at least) whereas Lumberton's boy is more downhill and in your face - he takes some snaps in a Wildcat situation too. It seems that the kid from Splendora gets more time on offense than the kid from Lumberton. That may just be my assumption based on the few times I have seen either team play.
  18. Lol. Let's just say I'm not necessarily on the small side. Honestly, I can't ever finish it in one sitting, but the double order gives me a little sumpin sumpin for later...
  19. I’m not defending it. I’m saying don’t let society be what rules your thoughts. Just like you said, the Germans were wrong. But society did not say the Germans are wrong. Society said all those things were OK at one point. Don’t count on society to rule your thoughts.
  20. It’s amazing that people really believe this. You state in a couple of lines above that “society” is what should be the deciding factor on what is right an wrong. Do you really think that way? In Germany in the 1940’s, German society as a whole condoned terrible atrocities towards the Jews. American society, not that long ago, thought that blacks should not drink from the same water fountain as whites. Gay men and women are still referred to as queer instead of homosexual. Don’t let society be your barometer for right and wrong. If you do, one day you might have to answer for all the bad things you’ve done because society said it was ok.
  21. My wife told me I was too immature So I told her to get out of my fort...
  22. Don’t quote me, but I heard the Lumberton JV has no losses and 1 tie.
  23. Lol. I hear ya. I kinda like blowouts every once in a while. On the giving end anyway.
  24. Anyone ever have the beef tips (double order) at Richard’s in Beaumont? Add some of their okra and tomatoes and a wedge of cornbread... Dang son!
