Pretty big IF’s. That’s like saying if an earthquake destroys your cow pasture stadium will anyone care. The answer is no, but that if probably ain’t gonna happen.

I have seen both teams. Unfortunately for the BC faithful, they will finish 1-4.

Little Cypress Mauriceville vs Bridge City
SmashMouth replied to MustangNation#1's topic in High School Football
Relatively speaking, it took you almost as long to reply to that post as it did for you to get your Masters after your Bachelors. Congratulations on your higher education. Now maybe you can put it to use. Having lots of great tutoring and “No coaching really needed...” is a big difference. I hope your many degrees have served you well in your career, because it definitely hasn’t done anything for your understanding of sports or coaching kids. Hell, I barely made it out of the 5th grade, and I know more than you. Go figure... -
Lmao. Chickens ain’t hatched yet. Anything can happen. Pullin for them Raiders.
-
I think it could go either way. Have a better idea after LHS plays Splendora. Plus you gotta take into account injuries after tomorrow night.
-
C’mon everyone. Hardcore the only one who put a score out there. I pick the Raiders by 6 on the road. Let’s see some numbers!

Good post. I also feel that Silsbee, as a program, knows how to win in a big game Time and again. HF does not have that experience factor. I know it seems silly, but experience facing a certain situation can make a big difference. The difference between a W and an L. Silsbee by 10+.
-
Very possible. Depends on LCM vs LHS outcome of the last regular season game.
-
Gonna be an important game to line up 2, 3 & 4 in the district race. Raiders gotta travel to the westside to pick up this win. Go get em boys.
-
Wasn’t really throwing shade. Just trying to agree with the game style reference more than anything.
-
Bridge City is better than the scoreboard shows. Good job Raiders.
-
Huffman will be the DC. Hope LCM upsets, but I can’t see it.
-
You definitely got 1/2 of this right!
-
Freakin funny...

Anything can happen. Good luck and good health to all the boys on both sides.

Luckily, y’all get out athleted by whomever y’all play, so I guess in those terms you should be ecstatic! 😳

On a positive note: rain SHOULD be cleared up by game time. Both teams on a turf field which takes mud and muck out of the equation and I have a nice “blanky” to keep the wind and cold off. Not sure how the BC Fans see this game ending, cuz most are keeping radio silence so they don’t have to take a chance of rebuttal afterwards. Raider fans mostly calling for a close one. I just wish they were playing in Bridge City. Last year they gave away a freakin hog trap instead of the normal “split the pot”. I need one for my deer lease. I heard this year they gave away a mostly complete partially used set of dishes and a gift card to the Dollar General. Maybe next year...

Few... I would say he means roughly 2 or 3 TD’s. TD’s referring to Touchdowns. Depending on PAT success, that would translate anywhere from 12 to 24 points. Therefore, I think he’s saying Huffman beats Splendora by the above-mentioned spread. He’s saying Splendora will lose.
-
I don’t know the answer to that. I’m saying that “on paper”, it looks like HH has the advantage over Splendora (record, common opponents, least points scored in a game, etc.) There are “match up” factors though. If Splendora’s players, style of play, coaching decisions, injuries on HH team, and any other factors that can expose a HH weakness can turn the table it could mean a win for Splendora. If I had a wish it would be for a Splendora win. If I had a $100 to bet on it, I would put my green on Huffman. Basically everything I said DMS. 🤫

I don’t know this poster, but there a lot of truths above. Certainly there are some other factors, but without the points above, a program will not reach its potential. Imo.
-
I’m not saying it’s a shocker, but I will say last year is last year... On paper it’s Huffman Hargrave who beat Liberty 34-7; whereas Splendora squeaked out a win against Liberty 16-14. Lumberton beat them last year too. Not this year though. Huffman is a pretty good team. I’ve seen Splendora too. Not bad. It’s all about the matchup. Huffman 31 Splendora 21. I would love it if Splendora won and shook up the DC race a little though.

Excellent post. Couldn’t have said it any better!

So true...sad.

Unfortunately If BC wins the coach will get blamed and the school board will get calls. That’s a fact!
