I was just throwing shade one again at the topic in general. It’s been to soon. Nobody knows. Take it if you want it…skip it if you don’t.

My only issue with DeSantis so far is that he’s a politician. Republicans would be wise to pick him for the presidential nominee though. Lacks the Trump baggage (although he would be my pick all things being equal).

I just heard that everyone that was vaccinated is dead.

Transgender weightlifter competing as a woman in the Olympics
SmashMouth replied to bullets13's topic in Political Forum
But you’re missing the point B13… It’s not an unfair advantage. She was ALWAYS a woman who just happened to sport a penis and an XY pair of sexual chromosomes. How can you call her a male athlete? She was ALWAYS a woman no matter what biology says. -
My bad. I thought you were speaking of illicit drugs.

[Snowflake Trigger Warning] SCOTUS Upholds Obamacare
SmashMouth replied to InMAGAWeTrust's topic in Political Forum
Not necessarily, but I also don’t want to pay for those who may be too lazy to work. Fair? -
I’m not disagreeing with you, but why do you say it’s “obviously” wrong? I’m not sure the statement is obviously right or wrong.

I think he’s saying that the drug being bought is inconsequential. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.

Becky Ames, the outgoing mayor of 13 or 14 years, also a female… Times are different y’all. They have been for quite some time…

Awesome. Thanks for the reminder.

Senate Passes Bill to Make Juneteenth a Federal Holiday
SmashMouth replied to Bobcat1's topic in Political Forum
I don’t have a problem with Juneteenth being listed as a federal holiday. What’s the harm? It probably should’ve been done long ago. -
Good morning fellas and Happy Father’s Day. I want to share that I am blessed to be a Father. For me this day is more of a celebration for the privilege of being a Dad than a celebration for myself. I hope you all have a good day and be sure to give a prayer of thanks to God for the opportunity of raising some awesome kids.

I just wish I could get my pay / income returned to pre-Covid amounts. I’m currently at about 50%. Lots of folks still completely out of work or working at decreased payment in the petrochemical industry (not by their own choice). I believe in teachers and their worth, but they may want to be thankful for what they have during these times.

I’m gonna narrow it down to a landing between Morgan City, LA and Biloxi, MS with New Orleans right in the headlights.

I think you’re right, and I was expecting that response which leads me to my second question: Is it newsworthy that a decent sized handful of folks wanted to walk through Beaumont to celebrate their sexuality?
-
While that is helpful, I don’t think it’s inclusive of all minority scholarships. Additionally, a minority can go to ANY university and get a minority-based scholarship.
-
[Hidden Content] From the website: “Your ethnicity or race may help you qualify for a minority scholarship. Ethnic minorities are African American, Hispanic, and Asian American. Native Americans may also apply for American Indian scholarships. Some awards are for high school seniors entering college as freshmen. College students who are currently pursuing bachelor’s degree program may also find various awards. Minority graduate students pursuing a master’s or PhD may also find awards. Minority scholarships for graduate school may come from student networks, advocacy groups and national minority organizations. Hispanic Scholarship Fund is based on merit. You also must be of Hispanic heritage. It’s open to high school seniors, undergrads, and graduate students.” There are literally hundreds of scholarships worth many millions available to minorities that aren’t available to non-minorities. How do you respond to that?
-
Ma’am, I have no reason to believe your children were admitted for any other reason than their own intelligence. That doesn’t mean that others haven’t had the advantage of their minority status to help them with admissions, student aid, etc. Do you agree?

I’m like y’all. I don’t have an issue with it, although I have no plans to attend. I’m just wondering why have the event in the first place? Is it the need for acceptance? Is it just to make that community merge into a place of normalcy? Just wondering “why” more than anything.

Even though I can’t stomach Biden, for the good of the country, I hope he stands his ground (although I seriously doubt it).
