look, I'm a Dog fan, but png is a above average coached team IMO and Faircloth is a legit good guy...wish him the best except for one week a year

Cole Crippen is the QB for png

Should be fun, but it will give us a point of comparison to see if any adjustments or improvement is made…short window to do so, but will be more interesting to see than anything else

LU absolutely dominated again by Abilene Christian, 56-0....I am willing to give the new coach a chance to establish his program...this is his first "real" season after only a few games in the spring, but this program isn't even competitive at this point...it isn't going to get any easier moving to the WAC...right now, it appears that Lamar "wants" to be big time, but is nowhere near ready to do so...A bit disappointed at this point, I must say.
This was 56-0 to ACU, not Texas A & M or another big time FBS program...ACU??

Great game…personally I think png gave up on the run game too soon…nederland played it better in the second half, but never really controlled it…png was only down 3 with 5:36 left and had a reasonable chance to run the ball down the field and control the clock leaving Nederland very little time
great resilience by the dogs…finished on a 24-0 run!!

Gotta be one of the shortest MCM threads ever!! I think it shows the uncertainty that both sides have about tonight's outcome...here's for one helluva, highly competitive game where both teams come out injury free...telling number is the point differential over the last 20 years that someone posted earlier...50 points over 20 years! crazy close...hoping for the same tonight, with a late Bulldog victory!!
Go Dogs!

Cmon eagle….kids don’t make mistakes…mommas and daddy’s won’t stand for that from their perfect angels…only coaches…lack of accountability IMO
-
the definition of "bad coaching" would be to put a kid under center if he had never practiced that...not sure if this is the case at BU, but sounds like it may be...you cannot, especially in a critical moment, call on players to do things that they have not worked on
-
I'm with BG on this

regarding live tackling, my guess is that the exact opposite is true and png's stance is not that rare...from what I hear and know, most teams avoid much heavy hitting in practices as it too often had resulted in injuries that kept players out of games...this is not different from nfl teams either...go to a live practice or training camp and you will not see players hitting the ground...heck, I've actually witnessed a player get yelled at for putting a player on the ground in an nfl practice...does it lead to poorer tackling? I certainly believe it does, but it does lead to fewer practice injuries, which I think is a huge plus...coaches just don't want players hurt in any circumstance, but losing them in practice drives them nuts.
So rest easy, png fans...your lack of tackling and hitting in practice is not that rare

Best of luck to BU...bring that state championship to SE Texas!
And apparently, more to come in the next couple of years with the makeup of this group...tons coming back next year as well

congrats to all of these young men!

great season, Crosby...just ran into a buzzsaw with this Aledo team
-
that's good...I cant imagine that he punts a whole lot

Just heard on the radio that Aledo’s punter is the fastest player on the team! His dad was a pro Brazilian soccer player
how we would anyone know this? that kid most likely never plays a down (punter for Aledo)...he must run track...he's got to be bored silly if all he does is punt for Aledo!!

While yesterday certainly did not go as the Dogs had hoped, this team certainly overachieved...pre season, many had them as a question mark to make the playoffs...they won district and two playoff games to compile a very respectable 9 win season...only one team in each division has their season end the way they want, so hats off to a team that proved to be far better than most expected!!

Granted, I have only seen the one PT game, and they have a potent offense...I think the Dogs D does enough and gets that one extra stop to have Nederland prevail...Dogs by 8

Sorry but I would put Sterling ahead of Jacksonville Santa Fe and maybe Dayton
I would agree with this with the exception of Jacksonville and that’s only because I didn’t see that game...sterling was better than Santa Fe and Dayton IMO

I prefer to call spider our resident "pessimist"...he expects every play of every game to go Nederland's way...football just doesn't work that way! it's a game of ups and downs and teams that overcome the downs the best prevail.
In any event, when you look at the game in totality, the Dogs were pretty dang solid...holding a team to barely over 100 yards is impressive, regardless of the opponent...even more difficult in a blowout when trash time yards are often wracked up...perfect performance? no, but those are extremely rare in this game...next week should naturally be tougher, but most objective folks would have to consider this team to have been more successful than anyone thought

We find out if Nederland are pretenders or contenders this weekend.
But an overtime Fumble win over BH, and a 1 point loss to PNG have me believing they are just about as good as those two squads. I think they are getting better as the season goes which is exactly what you want to see in Nederland.
But they are facing the team that hasn't been challenged in district. Will Nederland give Crosby a challenge? Maybe. What should we expect? Another game where the cougars roll over DII 12-5a opponents.
Crosby 55-14 Nederland
Dang, this can’t taste too good right about now...you were only off by 46 points
and where is 14.2?
Santa Fe at Nederland/Nederland wins 31-0

Why would you put your best playmaker in harms way in the wildcat in a game that you are gonna win regardless??
