I know nothing about the other circumstance so I won't comment on that

No eligibility questions here, soulja! the kids family , mom and dad, have been bulldogs for years...nice try, though

PAM had a very impressive and athletic D, which will challenge png's explosive offense...Johnson is a legit threat and he will get his, but he will need some help and he will have to work a little harder to be successful against the Titan D (although I think he will have his fair share of success, the kid is just that good).
Offensively, PAM did not impress me and appear one dimensional to me by struggling in the pass game...it appeared to me the PAM became afraid to throw the ball against Nederland and became totally one dimensional.
Tough pick, but I will say:
png 28
PAM 17

Anybody checked on ole rob? Haven't heard much from him since Saturday.

To give it an optimistic look, Nederland played quite a few sophomores last year and they gained valuable game experience that will only help them the next 2 years...I remember that happening another time here recently (2010) and the 2011 and 2012 teams ended up 2-time undefeated district champs, going 3 and 4 rounds deep, respectively...not saying that's a sure thing for this group, but it is far from a lost cause...that Friday night experience those players got last year will benefit them

Reagan/smitty is just a guy who likes to gripe and be miserable...I say we let him do it, ALONE!
-
Yep...those guys sure haven't had much success...lol

Like they always say, always be faithful to purple and ....grey?
hey, I'm a bulldog fan so can't miss the chance to dig on png a little bit...I could personally care less what any school does with the colors of their uniforms, so long as you can read the numbers on the jersey...ozen with the yellow numbers on white jerseys was a bit difficult to read, but again, it's their choice

Great news!!!!

Yep, fans yell for a kick anytime a ball touches a player below the knee and it drives me nuts...lol...on the other hand, I have seen some refs call it a kick ball when it isn't intentional and that bothers me just as much.
As for the shot clock, I am speaking purely from a fan perspective...sure does make for some boring basketball
-
The kicked ball interpretation drives me nuts, but what bothers me the most is a rule that is not in place....put a dang shot clock of some type into the HS game...even if it's a dang minute, something, please!

What's "wrong" in Nederland sure as heck hasn't been the football and athletic programs, and Barrow has been an instrumental part of that success...what needs to change, is the community support for bringing the district out of the 60's and 70's with regards to facilities and the like...one day people will realize that hopefully

Did you think the 2017 football season was one to give chest bumps and high fives about?
Don't know about the 2017 season yet!

...and if so, that is truly pathetic on that parent's part...this man is having to endure having his character and integrity called into question...I will admit that I do not know the circumstances whatsoever, but I will give the Coach the benefit of the doubt until the investigation is complete...if it comes to pass as is speculated here, then again, shame on those bringing the accusations!

And I still think the Nederland job will be an outside hire I just mentioned that as a coach for 20 years it makes him qualified to be coach
...to add, a coach in a WINNING system for 20 years...outside hires seem to make more sense when the outgoing coach is relieved of his duties for lack of success...clearly not the case here
-
Read further...I said that he did not do that alone...he would tell you the same

Brubaker presents a very logical argument to stay in house and keep Barrow...I wont re-state it but suffice it to say that I agree with his points about Monte...all we get from Reagan is the "home cooking is no good" argument with no actual facts to bear that out...you can hit or miss with a home grown guy or an out of town guy...it depends on THAT guy and his staff...for me, Barrow and this group of coaches have more than proven themselves to know the formula for success...if the answer is already here, why do you need to go looking all over the place? I believe that it is better for the KIDS to keep as close to the current situation as possible in place...isn't that ultimately what this is about?
One last point, during many a season, you hear other coaches and opponents of Nederland talk about how well coached and well prepared Nederland always is...who do you think does that? Neumann played a key role in that, yes, but he certainly could not do that alone...breaking this staff up would make many Nederland opponents very happy people, I assure you, and take away one of the biggest advantages that Nederland has experienced over the years...you can't tell me that Nederland was the most talented team in this district for 5 consecutive years during the DC run.
My opinion, don't overthink this...the answer is already here
-
I have not been very active on here recently, but as a Bulldog supporter, I do have quite a bit of interest in this...Coach Neumann was absolutely phenomenal for Nederland football and athletics, in general...more importantly, he was successful at building solid young men who learned how to put "team" first and be responsible individuals...job well done, Coach, you will be sorely missed...you often hear the phrase "leave it better than you found it"; Coach Neumann can check that box off in a big way!!
For the reasons mentioned above, I throw my support in the corner of Monte Barrow...he has been with Neumann for the entirety of this run and has been an invaluable contributor to this legacy...he understands the game extremely well and more importantly, he cares about the kids and knows what it takes to develop them, both as players and equally important, as people.
He's paid his dues and I am convinced is more than ready for this opportunity...plus, Nederland has one hell of a staff overall, and promoting Monte is the best way to ensure that this stays in tact as well...lot's of good coaches on that sideline and I for one, want them all to stay!

So your hanging your hat on wins against PNG.... My point has been made...............
PNG lost to Manvel in the 3rd round BF year 2.......... SO thats like 2010 or so.........
And you just pointed out... We have more hardware in every aspect, including MCM.... Thank god for LN or it would be worse...
NEXT.......
This is a ridiculous argument, but since you wanna make it; Nederland 3rd round 2011; 4th round 2012 (while you sat home and prepared for basketball that you couldn't beat us in either)
Honestly, I guess Nederland should just as well not even show up...after listening to this, I think it should be PNG -82...oh well, let's go ahead and play the game anyway and see what happens

Thank you, Mr. positive...the kid has exceptional tools, the best of which includes his understanding of the game and court vision...I was extremely impressed with his feel for the game, particularly as a freshman...he is already REALLY good and will only get better...apparently some pretty smart basketball people think so as well
