  1. Wait. I thought the best athlete in the district played for Shepherd? I completely agree with your statement.
  2. There is still a chance for a three way tie for 1st. (as long as HF, Silsbee and WO-S all win next week, then HF beat WO-S while Silsbee defeats Shepherd in final week.) If that happens, Silsbee will be the #1 seed. Tigers finish with a +18 in points (21 point win over HF, 3 point loss to WO-S). Mustangs are a +3 and HF a -21. The point max per game is 21 so HF could beat WO-S by 22 or more but still would be a 0 in points. Best HF could do in that three way tie would be to beat WO-S by at least 12 or more points to get #2 seed. 11 points or less would have WO-S #2 seed. Of course, Shepherd still has a say in all this with having to play HF and Silsbee final two weeks. Also, WO-S wins out, they are district champs all to themselves. I am still sticking to my prediction: 1. WO-S 2. Silsbee 3. HF That 4th will be Shepherd now but I had either them or Jasper in that spot.
  3. Lumberton dominated this game up front from start to finish. Raider run game was just way too much for the Hawks to handle. This will eliminate HJ while clinching the playoffs for Lumberton, BC, LC-M and Huffman. Seeds still remain to be determined. LC-M is 5-0. BC, Lumberton and Huffman are all 4-1. All the other teams (HJ, Livingston, Vidor and Liberty) can be no better than 3-4 with two games remaining. Livingston can only get to 2-5.
  4. Disappointed in my Tigers losing this one. Only good thing is I picked the Mustangs to win this one and win district. Still got that going for me.
  5. I had to check this score three times. Crazy result to say the least.
  6. First win ever for Shepherd over Jasper. Crumedy now 21-23 at Jasper.
  7. We tried to do an audio broadcast of this game and never heard back from anyone at BISD. Started trying to contact them on Monday. Not a peep. Reached out several times. Had to move on to HJ/Lumberton.
  8. Bot forgot this one tonight. Summer Creek 41 Humble 14 F
  9. Change of plans for me tonight. Going to Hardin-Jefferson at Lumberton game to be a part of the SETXsports broadcast of the game. Pregame meal will be at Rikenjaks.
  10. According to the roster sent to me from Coach Bass, which includes who is starting tonight, the starting QB, both RB's, both WR, TE are playing tonight. Unless there is an Olineman or two missing, all the skill guys are playing. On defense, the Hawk leaders in Malbrough, Levin, Warren among others are all playing. Not sure who they are actually missing, but the main cogs from all season are playing tonight.
  11. I think you cannot submit your number until next week. I believe it has to be within that week.
  12. Yes. They can be turned in all that week (27-31) but all numbers have to be in by Friday.
  13. Offensively, Lumberton has definitely upped their game since district has started. Averaging over 200 yards rushing (both Williams and Cratic averaging over 100 yards per game in district play along with both scoring 8 TD's apiece). QB Mitchell has managed the game very well, passing for 410 yards and 4 TD's with just 1 INT in district play. But Lumberton's success offensively in district play has been their run game. Oline has definitely played a huge part in that success. Lumberton is averaging 39 points per game in district. Defensively, the Raiders have given up about 20 more yards per game (335) in district play. Grimmer, Burkhalter and Atterberry have combined for over 60 tackles in district play. The key for the Raider defense is to shut down the Hawk defense and force them into a passing game. That will allow Lumberton to bring pressure on a pass game that hasn't been too successful this season. HJ will definitely need to get their pass attack going. It's been their weakness all season, particularly in district play. Hawks are only averaging 71 yards passing in district play, 244 yards total offense. HJ OB Samoff has passed for 228 yards, completing just 40%, with 4 TD's and 2 INTs in district play. RB Pitre has rushed for 322 yards in district play. Hawks will need a bit more balance to have a chance against this Raider defense. Hawk defense is top 3 in district, giving up 320 yards per game in district. They are led by Malbrough who has 37 tackles, Levin with 34 tackles and Warren who leads the district with 4 INT's in district play. HJ has to slow down the Lumberton rush game and make Mitchell win the game. They cannot afford to let the Raider run attack control the game. Lumberton is on a 3 game win streak in district while Hardin-Jefferson has lost their last 3. HJ has to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss pretty much seals their fate as a playoff team. Lumberton with a win can stay in the DC conversation but will most likely clinch a playoff spot with a win. Looking forward to broadcasting this game.
  14. I will post my coverage area district predictions next week. A team to keep an eye on this season: WO-S and Big Sandy
  15. And @Matthew328 picked Silsbee by 5.
