I will be in Silsbee tonight broadcasting the SETXsports GOW when the Tigers play host to the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns in 21-3A district play. Hamshire-Fannett needs this win to stay in the playoff hunt while Silsbee has seen it's playoff hopes vanish with the loss to Orangefield last night. Now they play the role of spoiler. HF can clinch a playoff spot with a win coupled by a loss by WOS tonight. Broadcast time will be at 6:45pm with the first pitch around 7pm. I was told by someone in the know that the stadium seating between the 40's will have a PSL of $1,000 per seat. Looks like my season tickets will be outside the 40's.

To my family, that's where it is. Most of the games, at least all the good ones, are getting an early start or they have already started. If they would have started at 7pm, I could have done one, but I have to get my youngest from school this afternoon.

I have been in many of our local pressboxes broadcasting games for this site. I have seen very good ones, fair ones, and bad ones. I will say that I was very suprised to see how bad off the Nederland pressbox was considering they are one the bigger 4A schools in our area. I have seen smaller schools with much better facilities. I agree, Nederland's pressbox is in much need of repair. Now, does it need 1.8 million in repair, I think not. I am quite certain that Silsbee's, Bridge City's, Central's and even Lamar Universities new pressboxes did not cost that much. I think there can be an upgrade there without spending that kind of money.

You can always tell when someone's team is taking a pounding. They always refer to the past.

Looks like it will be a long season for the Yankees.
