WO-S School Board Please Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Mr. Conway is a school board member for Silsbee and a former coach and administrator in Silsbee. He is a very fine man. WOS is lucky to have had him this last year. -
Yes they do. In fact, WOS boys doubles team advanced to regionals.
-
Take that up with stevenash. He asked for them. Of course, we know what your opinion would be if.....
-
Same point system that track uses. 10 for 1st 8 for 2nd 6 for 3rd 4 for 4th 2 for 5th 1 for 6th. If two teams tied, the points for those two places were split.

Here are the final standings using these sports: Football/Volleyball, Basketball, Golf, Track, Tennis, Softball/Baseball Girls Silsbee 46 Hamshire-Fannett 44 Orangefield 34 Hardin-Jefferson 23 Bridge City 20 WOS 19 Boys Silsbee 37 WOS 34 Orangefield 30 Hamshire-Fannett 29.5 Hardin-Jefferson 28 Bridge City 27.5 Combined Silsbee 83 Hamshire-Fannett 73.5 Orangefield 64 WOS 53 Hardin-Jefferson 51 Bridge City 47.5

I REPEAT. I SAW the game played between Central and HJ at HJ and HJ WON. Deal with it. i repeat i played from 96-99 and hj never beat us Bacbone............would you care to place a wager on this? Spinks, let me know if he does because I would want some of that action too. I just got off the phone with Coach Green. Let's just say I am not betting against HJ on this.
-
Counsel shortt, if I have to tell you one more time!! Central took that whipping to Duncanville in 1999 NOT 1998! AND Duncanville got BEAT in the title game in 1999....They won it all in 98...I know I taught you better than that counsel shortt!! 8) All I know is that neither of them beat Silsbee in 1996 either! They were undefeated and........CHOKED in the FIRST ROUND of the playoffs!!!!!! ;D ;D..( I had to do it AAW) It wasn't '96 that they went undefeated, it was '98. But yes, that nationally ranked, #1 in state undefeated team bowed out in the first round.
-
Oh, and on this subject of '97 and '98, neither HJ or Central beat Silsbee in basketball those years. ;D

I think that usually in larger districts, meaning the districts that have more than one high school, management is more site based. Yes they SHOULD know the ins and outs, but it is a bit difficult with so many schools to deal with, which is why certain decisions are campus based in larger school districts...Good points though and they are understood...you may step down...thank you... I agree here Dickie... This is the only local district with more than one High school. So of course it is a littel diffent that the surrounding districts. I am not denying that BISD is not different from the other local districts. They still should be able to give me basic info that I reasonably need when arranging a broadcast. Most of the time, all I got was, "I don't know, ask him." Round and Round.
-
I will admit (and I have already in another thread) that I may have been a little too harsh in my comments on the administration at BISD. But, like short said, this particular subject is a definite blackeye on the district, ain't no denying that. I will say this though. My personal dealings with BISD has left me unimpressed with their administration. I have to deal with many of the local school districts in working out the arrangements for broadcasting games. The ONLY school district that was difficult to work with was BISD. It seemed every time I called to the administration building, it seemed one person didn't know what the other was doing. No one could give me a direct answer. All the other school districts that I have dealt with were pretty swift and decisive on what info I needed and who to contact. They were more than helpful. I found that working with BISD, that I had to go to the campus admins to get any answers and still they would mostly refer me back to the district administration. It was a circus most of the time. Like I said, these are just my personal dealings with BISD. I know that there are some very quality people that work for this district, but I am not so sure of the top dogs. You guys can now continue your debate on HJ vs. BISD in athletics.

Looking at how the scouting services are ranking Silsbee's Jeremy Johnson, one could say he is the best since 2000. He still has his senior year to go, but I don't recall any area QB since 2000 being ranked 14th nationally and 5th in the state at the QB position.

One word, "Ike".
-
No. Neither team made the regional finals.

**Silsbee vs H-J Updates....Silsbee Wins!!!!**
AggiesAreWe replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I still say the Tigers are two years away. You are right, Silsbee only loses one senior, but they have no juniors on the team. It will be a team without seniors. -
He has made just over $300,000 this year. Joey, I would hope that you will have made much more than that in your lifetime.
-
I thank you for at least giving me Mini Tour credit. ;D But, I ain't skeered, bring it. ;D

Chris had 11 birdies in his first(and only) two rounds in New Orleans this week. But, he also had 3 double bogeys and 6 bogeys to go with those birdies to miss the cut by 2 strokes. Way too inconsistant this week.

Like the great philosopher Yogi Berra once said, " It ain't over till it's over."

Again, one of those "Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen" things. Look, there is no need to leave the site, just ask DV. ;D See, now I can just laugh at those kinda comments (grimmacing) Relax hoops 123....You know the court thing was kind of funny! Kind of?? I thought we had a pretty funny thing going there.

AggiesAreWe replied to hjhawks's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes. Don't drive into the lane too fast, you'll get a ticket. Also, expect the refs to be in the cops back pocket. ;D
