DV, I am not sure of UCLA basketball, but I do know those schools that the poster listed were looking at him for football. He did say football and basketball. I just took it that the bigger schools he listed were for football and the smaller schools that he did not list were looking at him for basketball.

I thought Sabine was playing in the HJ tourney?
-
Nope. I got the inside scoop. ;D

Hands down the greatest throwing quarterback from ANY school in this area has been Todd Dodge at TJ. In 1980 he threw for what was then a national high school record I believe, (I'm sure aggies, wos, or skipper will have the true stats). As all of you know, he went on to coach 3 of the top 7 listed above. Todd Dodge paved the way for all of the guys on that list. Even H-D's Dusty Evans. I agree. Todd Dodge is the man when you are talking about top QB's of this area. All qb's will and should be compared to him.

Thanks for clearing this up, TopDawg.

So I guess he's saying Dickie V and bacone are full of crap. Real Info on J'covan we just go see when schools start who is full of crap...we just go have to see and you went to college? :

I thought baseball season was over.

Who said those were good quarterbacks?
-
You only got our attention because of your bogus stats, not that he was a good quarterback. Alot of passing yards could be 2,500 in 10 games. Far cry from 4,800.

Checked on playoff games for 1999-2002 for class 2A. Hull-Daisetta played in '99 and '00. 1999 Bi District Garrison 53 HD 6 2000 Bi District Hemphill 32 HD 15 So, if it was '01 that this "dream" season happened, then he only played 10 games.

Here are the top 7 all-time passing yards for a season: (notice how many games these guys played) Single-Season Passing Yards (games) 4,827-Garrett Gilbert (16), Lake Travis, 2007 4,825-Graham Harrell (15), Ennis, 2003 4,822-Chase Wasson, Southlake Carroll (16), 2002 4,700-Kelan Luker, Stephenville (16), 1998 4,698-Greg McElroy, Southlake Carroll, 2005 4,678-Phillip Daugherty, Bridgeport (15), 2001 4,672-Chase Daniel, Southlake Carroll (16), 2004 If this HD QB averaged 480 yards a game, he would have been on this list in just 10 games. I assume HD went to the playoffs that year, so he should have eclipsed 5,000 yards with ease. I think not!
-
So he threw for 480 yards a game????? : : : Don't think so!!!! I am with you, LAZEEK. Don't think so. So what you are saying, this guy threw for 5,000 yards that year? Let me go check on that, be right back.

Dont let them get to you---spit it out! Nobody's getting to me. I meant it as a joke. It just goes without saying.

Actually, Navasota's district, 24-3A, gets a first round bye. The 24-3A champ gets the winner between 21-3A runner up and 22-3A third. 24-3A runnerup gets 22-3A champ and 24-3A third gets 21-3A champ. It's quite possible that district 24-3A's three playoff teams will face the top 3 teams in Region III in the area(2nd) round.

Silsbee summer tourney next weekend, who's in it
AggiesAreWe replied to court side's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
There are ways around all the rules. A few years back a kid from Kountze Tray Peters came to Evadale as a freshman just to play V BB, when he couldnt make the V team it Kountze. He moved a old RV in to a park in Evadale, never stayed the first night, and as soon as BB season was over he went back to Kountze. So dont say you cant move just for athletic reasons its done ever year some were. What I meant was that you could not do it legally. -
Hey, where is sabinebball? He should be here tootin his horn about how his 2A super power Sabine team will dominate Region III. :
-
That may be a problem. He may not be able to play basketball until late in district play, if at all. All depends on when he enrolls in school.

Silsbee summer tourney next weekend, who's in it

Silsbee had this sitiuation a few years ago with a couple of players. Ashton Hall was to have played for Silsbee since he actually lived with his mother in Silsbee( they live two houses down from my parents, my dad talks to Ashton all the time) but Kountze and another school in Silsbee's district fought it and Ashton ened up playing his senior year in Kountze. The other player was a football player. Adrian Peterson (yes that Adrian Peterson) moved to Silsbee with his mother the summer before his senior year and it looked as though he would enroll at Silsbee. But Palestine's coaches convinced his mother into letting him live with one of the coaches so that he could finish there at Palestine. It's all about establishing legal residence but you can't transfer for just athletic reasons. -
Texas Stadium is a wind tunnel, remember how cold the 77 state game was? It was very cold and really only so because of the wind that whipped through that sorry stadium.
-
I just do them Louisiana Game wardens like ole Justin Wilson used to do them. I just hand'em a stick of lit dynomite and ask them, "Hey, you gonna talk or fish?"
-
How about a new pressbox? Please, please tell me they have a new pressbox or at least a better one on the visitors side. That one is just a firecracker stand with one 40 watt bulb in it.

I just took a look over there at that site. The Farmer guy looks to be getting the best of WOS87. By those pics that were put up, I would have to agree that the Carroll-Trinity game had just as much if not more than the Plano-PNG game of '77. BTW, I attended that PNG game in '77. I was 13 years old and remember two things about that game. One, I was amazed at the amount of people that both schools had at this game and two, how bad Texas Stadium was compared to the Dome. It really wasn't that great of a stadium.
