1. Sorry guys, I could not make it out there today. Had some things come up. I'll try and contact someone out there to get some updates.
 2.
Debuts Wednesday! An awesome system....but yes mentally tired.
Yes, you are mental.
 3. Notes: What a difference a day makes for Kountze (actually what two senior players mean to the team). Kountze looked much better today. McDaniel was definitely the difference for these young Lions. We'll see how the rest of the tourney goes for Kountze. LCM had another blowout win. But they have yet to play a higher caliber team (wins over Kountze JV and WB freshman). Even so, the Bears look pretty good. HJ and Woodville played a slop fest of a game. HJ's basketball savy pulled this one out for them. (Garrett Gustafson went down in this game, getting a nasty cut over his left eye, requiring stitches) After Livingston gave West Brook a scare yesterday, some thought they may give the Tigers a game. That was quickly tossed aside as Silsbee dominated Livingston the entire game. Tigers looked very good, with the bench looking good as well. Nederland's varsity team came to play today (the JV represented Big Ned yesterday). The Bulldogs were very impressive in their win over Anahuac. Coach English got the Dawgs looking good. In one of the most exciting games of the day, Silsbee took down PA 38-28. Silsbee was having to play back to back games (just finished beating Livingston) so they were a bit tired and it showed. PA raced to an 18-2 lead, led at the half 20-10. But the Tigers, behind Stallworth, Lane and Barrett, came roaring back and showed the heart and character of a seasoned team. The Tigers took advantage of PA's youth (even though some of this team are varsity players) and applied the pressure to PA, coming back to win by 10. The big upset of the tourney was Legacy taking down West Brook. Great game for Legacy. Even though it is summer league, it's a win that the Warriors can be proud of. Cleveland rolled an undermanned Spurger team (couple of Spurger's starters missed this game). Cleveland played without their big postman Cedric Reed, but they did not need him. Finally, to close out today's games, Lumberton and Evadale put on a nail biter. Evadale had three different possesions in the last 15 seconds, also going to the line once, but could not come up with the 2 points to tie the game. All in all, another good day of basketball, 12 pool games. Pool play will conclude in the morning and bracket play will start at 1pm tomorrow.
 4. Todays Pool play scores: Kountze    49  (different Kountze team today, McDaniel and Linn played today) Vidor        32 Tioga, La.  44 Jasper        42 Ozen        54 Kountze JV  39 (some of the varsity played for Kountze) LCM              54  (LCM looks good again, but yet to play a good team) Bmt. Mustangs 25 HJ        38 Woodville 32  ( both teams played sloppy in this game) Silsbee      48  ( Silsbee dominated from start to finish) Livingston    15  Nederland      47 (Nederland's varsity finally showed for the tourney, very impressive) Anahuac        18 Silsbee        38  (Silsbee trailed 18-2 after 5 minutes, outscored PA 36-10 the rest of the way) PA Spurs      28 Legacy        39  ( Legacy hit shot with 1.5 seconds left, UPSET of tourney so far) West Brook  38 Cleveland      65  ( played without Reed) Spurger      30 Ozen JV      36 HJ JV          28  ( some of HJ's varsity played this game) Lumberton    30 Evadale        28  ( Evadale had three chances to tie game in the last 15 seconds)
 5.
Is the HJ game at 5:30??
Yes, in the main gym. Silsbee plays Livingston at the same time but in the practice gym. HJ plays Woodville.
 6.

Geez, the first two games will both be WO-S games, huh? Makes me wonder if Kerry had anything to do with that? LOL!
I promise you Kerry had absolutely NOTHING to do with KFDM/CW broadcasting football games. Take that to your grave.
More times than not, Kerry has nothing to do. ;)
 7.
"Prudhomme has the makings of being HJ's next star. But the Hawks also have a freshman phenom waiting in the wings. He will play varsity this season." Who is the freshman phenom?  LAZEEK, what say you?
Bosha is his last name was what I was told.
 8.
Why would KFDM want to compete with Lamar games?
Good question. One that I cannot answer.
 9.
Why are these games moved to Saturday at the same time as Lamar games?
Because you can't show them live on Friday night's. KFDM wants to show them on the CW channel on Saturday. It is a shame that some of these games will conflict with Lamar's games.
 10. Notes: Kountze looks like they will struggle this coming season. But looks can be decieving. ;) I was surprised how much Cleveland played it's starting 5. They must of played at least 28 of the 32 minutes. Silsbee played well even though starting point guard Gaines did not play. PA Memorial has an impressive JV squad. They will make some noise in this tourney. For once, HJ will have the height advantage over Silsbee when they play. The Hawks have two that go '6 "5 or better. Spurger played well, but misses Blankenship. They gave HJ all they wanted though. Prudhomme has the makings of being HJ's next star. But the Hawks also have a freshman phenom waiting in the wings. He will play varsity this season. Woodville impressed me with their overall team quickness and speed. They really had Cleveland reeling for a while. The most impressive win had to be Jasper's over Kountze. Jasper had only 5 players with no bench coach. These young men played very hard. Coach Young should be very proud of these 5 players.
 11. Some games had to be adjusted today and the rest of the tourney. East Chambers had to back out. Silsbee, Kountze, and Anahuac will play their pool play games. They will not count for those three teams but will count for the opposing teams.(except for Anahuac) Also today, Ozen and Anahuac did not show for the first pool play game. Anahuac had informed Travis a few weeks ago that it could not make the Thursday games. Ozen had problems getting to their first game. Ozen did show for their JV game against Evadale. They played a mixed squad in that game. Ozen took a loss for the no-show earlier. Anahuac will play two pool play games on Saturday to make up for missing today. Tomorrow, Silsbee vs. Livingston will be the 5:30 game and not the 4pm game. Livingston could not make the 4pm game. The previous 5:30 game(Jasper vs. Tioga) will now be the 4pm game for tomorrow.
 12. Wait a minute, according to SFA85, Reyes will not be the starting quarterback for West Brook. DCTF must have it wrong. ::)
 13.
I hate the Kirbyville vs WO-S game being moved to a Saturday. Lamar hosts Sam Houston St. at 6 pm the same day.
I hate it too. My wife informed me of that situiation after I told her about me possibly doing the game.
 14.
Geez, the first two games will both be WO-S games, huh? Makes me wonder if Kerry had anything to do with that? LOL!
Actually, it's not the first two games, just two of the games they will be doing.
 15. Today's pool play scores: Silsbee   58    ( Silsbee played without point guard Kelton Gaines and 2 guard Ronald Barrett) Legacy   30 Jasper    56 Kountze  52   ( Bad loss for Kountze, Jasper had only 5 players with no coach) :o HJ          52 Spurger   46  ( HJ played first half without Garrett Gustafson) LCM        47 Kountze   28  ( looks like a tough season up coming for the Lions) West Brook  36 Livingston    32 Tioga, La.   45   (former Kountze star Josh Hancock is the coach for this team) Vidor          37   (not a bad showing by Vidor, Coach Quinn has a good looking team for next year) Cleveland    58 Woodville    45   (Woodville hung tough for 3/4 of the game) Nederland JV  57 Kountze JV     12 PA Spurs       50  (Memorial's JV) Bmt Mustangs 29  (WB's freshman) Ozen  JV      47  (this was actually a mixed squad for Ozen, varsity and JV) Evadale      32 Lumberton  41 HJ JV        26
 16. Week 9, I would take Silsbee @ WOS over Newton @ Anahuac. But that's just me. ;) ;D
 17.
That's what i thought as well then i called the WO-S office and they said it's at WO-S.
That would make more sense because as it looks right now on WOS schedule, they would have 3 home games, 6 out of town, and 1 neutral site. With that game being in WOS, that would even the schedule out better with 4 home games, 5 out of town and 1 neutral site (Giddings). It would also even out Kirbyville's schedule. Right now they have 6 home games. This would give them an even 5 home and 5 away. Grad, you need to get busy!!! ;D
 18.
Kirbyville game is at WO-S...
According to the schedules, that game is in Kirbyville.
 19. Some marquee games for pool play for each day: Thursday HJ vs. Spurger Kountze vs. Jasper Livingston vs. West Brook Friday Silsbee vs. Livingston Spurger vs. Cleveland Anahuac vs. Nederland Saturday Silsbee vs. West Brook HJ vs. Cleveland Ozen 1 vs. Nederland
 20. Right now, I say the Katy vs. West Brook game is the best. But as the season progresses, things could change. ;)
 21.

I agree, Rey. Matt, you need to know that SFA85 is the resident hater. Anti SETX, 7 on 7 (which you promote) and spread offenses. Also, he thinks he has to represent counterpoint of any discussion regardless of subject and even if he agrees with the point. ::)
And your point is AAW?????...... Actually, Matt and I go way back.  I played for his uncle, Richard Marler..... Rumor has it, Stump may start the 3rd best QB @WB...........
Rey, would you like to comment on this?

 23.
From what i've heard he'll be fine, but who will be the RB now??
It's my understanding that Cale Hyde will replace Menard at runningback. I am still a little skeptical about moving who I thought was the best returning runningback in the district to quarterback. Coach knows best though. Anxious to see how this plays out.
 24. I got my hands on the mag (got one at the Silsbee Brookshire Bros. grocery). Gonna look it over from cover to cover and get back with you guys.
 25. ;D Part 1 [Hidden Content] Part 2 [Hidden Content] 16 minutes of highlights!
