The 3rd place game of the Nederland tournament will have the Silsbee Tigers taking on the Baytown Sterling Rangers at 6:30pm tonight in the Dawg Dome. Silsbee was defeated by West Brook to send them to the 3rd place game while Sterling lost to The Village. Broadcast will start 5 minutes prior to tip which is scheduled for 6:30 pm. Both teams played very physical but West Brook played stronger defense and that was the difference of the game. Silsbee did not play well but it was due to the defense that the Bruins displayed.

The Championship game of the 41st Annual Nederland Bulldog Classic will have The Village Vikings taking on the Cinderella of the tourney in the West Brook Bruins. The Village got their way to the finals by defeating Port Arthur Memorial 72-54 and Baytown Sterling 89-56. West Brook earned their way to the championship game by knocking off the host team Nederland 47-36, and then upsetting state ranked Silsbee 56-50. It was not an intentional punch, accident. Was trying to tip the ball out and missed and struck the WB player. Talked to Coach Simon and assistant BISD AD Ron Jackson after game and that was their conclusion as well. Just an unfortunate accident. Player bit through his lip and will require stitches, that is the extent of his injuries.
