USA men's team defeated France today 98-71 in Group A pool play. Only led 22-21 after first quarter, took game over rest of way. Over/under of average margin of victory for USA in Olympics, 23 1/2. I'll take under.

I thought the women looked terrible in the first half, didn't deserve to have the letters "USA" on their uni's. Was quite embarrassing. I mean this is the first time Croatia has ever qualified for the Olympics and the US team defeated them soundly in a "friendly" just a week ago 109-55. Let's hope the gals start playing better basketball.

I got to catch up with Coach Isaacs at the Silsbee summer tourney (Calobe was there every day watching his Livingston team from the stands). He is very excited to be back home (he is a Livingston grad) coaching his alma mater. Coach told me he has a lot to learn as to the basketball scene at the 4A and 5A level, but he is eager to learn. I believe Coach Isaacs will do a fine job at Livingston and the Lions will make the playoffs in 20-4A this year, mark it down. I can see them as high as 3rd in the district.

My posts were in direct response to the idea that Lumberton would go back to 3A. I dispute that idea. I wasn't insinuating that Lumberton would surpass other 20-4A schools in enrollment. Lumberton enrollment will be more next realignment than what was turned in this past realignment. Their numbers are not on the decline like someone stated earlier.

Like I stated, my wife is a teacher at LISD (at the middle school). She says the enrollment at the middle school (7th & 8th grades) is just shy of 700. If you would compute that to high school enrollment (four grades) that would roughly come out to around 1200 or more in the next realignment. I stick to my earlier statement that Lumberton's enrollment will be above 1100 in the next realignment.

Mark it down, Lumberton's enrollment will be above 1100 next realignment. My wife teaches in Lumberton, going on 13 years now in Lumberton (first 10 years of teaching was in Silsbee), she says the enrollment is growing. I do not think we will ever see 6A in my lifetime.

Correct. I have seen the DCTF and FNF (both have Newton #2) but I do not think the AP poll is out yet, but I could be wrong.

Are we talking about the AP poll (which I still have not seen posted anywhere yet) or FNF's poll?
