Looks like the only change for Coldspring was losing Madisonville and picking up Huffman. Is that right?
Huffman has been in Coldspring's district for several years now. I do not know who they replaced Madisonville with but it is not Huffman.

The schedules show that West Hardin is hosting Sabine Pass tomorrow and then next Tuesday, the 14th, Hull-Daisetta travels to Sabine Pass.
In the famous words from Aggie, "look at the darn schedule we posted for yall."
Dove- tell me who I should choose in this one ( and by the way, wouldnt it have been easier to say "Orange" or "Hamshire" in lieu of the scolding?)
No more easier than for you to have looked at the schedules before posting asking where they were playing. ;) ::)
Ok you win. From this point forward, if you pose a question, I will gladly respond with a point of reference rather than an answer.
Do what you want. I just like to show the appreciation and respect to our staff member WOSgrad for all the work he has done for this site by having that info provided right here on our site so that folks would not have to ask and be well informed. It's kind of like my teenage son walking into the kitchen asking my wife if we have any milk when he is standing 1 foot from the refrigerator. ;)

I will say this, I have seen enough basketball here locally and I have come to the conclusion that there is something about the word "playoffs" that seems to draw them out like flies on....... well you know. ;) ;D
Is Humble a 4-a team? Are they likely going to want to play a team in a lower classification for a warm up game?
Yes they are 4A and yes it could happen. Not saying it will, but there are other teams out there who are interested. I have come to realize that Coach Sigler has some pretty good contacts. I will not be shocked at all if he is able to lineup a team from the Houston area for a warm up game.
I thought Silsbee already had experience playing against him, I also heard that, other than Seals, the rest of the team is not that great.
Yes, Silsbee did play Sealy last year. Look what playing the likes of HJ twice in district and Kountze in the warm up did for them in that game. ;) Obviously Silsbee is looking to tackle their weakness by wanting to prepare themselves for those type match ups. They have troubled the Tigers most of the year.
Humble has a couple of big men to prepare either HJ or Silsbee, and they have speed and shooters. Going to be a tough match up for anyone.
Humble is one of the teams in consideration. They have a '6"7 that averages 17 and 12, a '6"6 that averages 14 and 10. Contact has been made. ;)

What potential opponents in the first round or two have a dominant big man? The only good one I have heard about plays at LaVega.
Sealy has a very dominant big in Ricky Seals-Jones and Brookshire Royal has two very good bigs, '6"7 and '6"6. Both were highly praised by Coach English of Nederland. 21-3A #1 seed would face Sealy in 2nd round, #2 seed would face Royal in 2nd round. Also, Smithville has a pretty good big.
Felt kinda bad for the Kville boys team.......they played hard and hustled their tails off and it looked like a ghost town on the home side. Why do they not support the bb program?
Because most folks in Kirbyville do not even realize they have a basketball team.

Big game!! A Hardin win could just about clinch them a playoff spot (but not mathematically) Buna has to win to put themselves in a winner take all game on the 14th against Warren.
5-5 Buna has 5-5 Hardin and 4-6 Warren left, and Hardin still has to play 8-2 EC... Maybe I am seeing it wrong but doesn't Buna have the inside track?
Warren could win the last two games and get in the playoffs. They should beat Deweyville Friday night and then face off against Buna in the last district game. With a win over Buna (assuming Buna defeats Hardin Friday night and Hardin loses to EC next Tuesday night) then Buna and Warren would end up tied at 6-6 but Warren would get the tie breaker because of their season sweep of Buna.

My two cents: Coaches should teach players not to talk back to the refs, or to the opposing fans. Nothing good comes from it. Coach or team captain should be the only ones addressing the refs. A little back and forth between the players is almost unpreventable. Though if I see my sons doing it, they will hear from me. Never be the one to start something, but don't allow yourself to be intimidated either. Sometimes you have to protect yourself and your team-mates, and you can do that without being dirty. Physical is another story. Taunting another player should result in a technical if the ref sees it. At the HS level, the teams should shake hands after the game. Though I am not personally a big fan of the players fist bumping the refs and/or opposing coach before the game as has become normal during the pregame introductions. It's fine, but I find it unnecessary. Play as hard as you can between the lines, but act in a way that would make your momma proud.
Best post I have heard in a long time!!!!
Well I am still waiting to "hear" this post but I have "read" it and I do agree with it 100%!! ;) ;D -

But who says one couldn't go outside the area? ;) Also, because of some particular match ups, a team may look to play a certain type team to help them prepare for that particular match up.
