Little Cypress-Mauriceville 58 Silsbee 38/FINAL

No way it's 60% of the area players. No way. Most teams have around 40 varsity players. (average of 6A-2A). You are saying that at least 24 players per team post highlight videos? Given that we have over 80 teams in our coverage area, that would be at least 1920 players posting HL vids. Don't believe that is happening. 10% at the most. The PN-G loss was not embarrassing. Bigger school, was favored to win. Had a very good season. If any other loss last year was embarrassing, it was WO-S game in how Silsbee lost. But I still don't view that as an embarrassing loss. My angst over the "me, me, me" thing has been building. Finally decided to speak my peace on the subject. But, it took this embarrassing loss to make the decision to speak out. -

I believe most if not all of those highlights of Calvin were posted by his dad. But, I feel the same way then as I do now. Difference, Silsbee never had any embarrassing loses last year like this one to LC-M, at least IMO. I still say those posting videos are in the minority. I am willing to bet only 5% to 10% of all the area team's players post video highlights of themselves. Honestly, I have no problem with the videos, just the timing of them. I would much rather it be done at season's end. -

I would say the ones posting highlight videos are in the minority. My point is, there is nothing to highlight from a defensive standpoint when you give up 58 points to a team who was barely scoring 20 a game prior. Really a time and place to do that and it's not the day or two after getting beat by 20 and giving up 58 points. Makes it look like a "me, me, me" thing and not a team thing. Call me old school but that's something that's really irritating about this "me first" society. And based on what I have seen and heard of this Tiger team, there's too much of that going on. -

58 points to LC-M? The Bears had only scored 63 total points in the 3 games played so far this year. smh I really thought the Tiger defense was going to be better this year. Doesn't look to be the case. Got to get better on that side of the ball or it will be a long and playoff free season. Got to start playing as a team and not as individuals looking to post highlight videos. rolleyes -

Tim has access to the complete game film. He gets his complete stats after viewing the entire game film. He is able to get very accurate stats by the game films by being able to pause the tape to record the stats. -
3 scores could mean 3 FG's, just 9 points.

Port Neches-Groves 44 Port Arthur Memorial 36/FINAL
AggiesAreWe replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Memorial gets flagged a lot because they hold. Their offensive line and receivers don't know how not to hold, if you know what I mean. Receivers are lazy in that regard. These were obvious penalties that most needed to be called. I saw maybe one or two that the ref should have just kept flag in pocket because the infraction had no bearing on the play. Now, I saw some illegal plays for the Indians as well. Refs did not cause Memorial to lose this game. -
Not sure how Cleveland is going to get in before Bridge City. Cleveland just lost to BC last night.
-
Like I posted earlier, standing on the sidelines gave me an up close view of the game. I would say most if not all were legit penalties. A couple of those flags could have been kept in pocket, didn't really help play. I agree, a few more flags probably should have been thrown against PN-G. I have seen PAM three times this season. The Titans are penalized a lot more than there opponents.

Stood on both sidelines tonight. Saw a great game up close. Many of those flags were legit. Probably could have called more on both sides. IMO, better team won. Never thought I would see a team score 44 points against that Titan D. Johnson is the real deal. PN-G receivers were better than Titan DB's. That and the Indian defense in 2nd half was the difference in the game. -
Exactly. Just in Beaumont alone, middle schools are not necessarily feeder schools to certain high schools. Also, senior class is always the smallest class.
-
I'll take PAM +20. Bet??

You got to understand something about '92. He always makes bold predictions against teams that has fan bases he knows he can get it a rise out of. He's wrong the majority of the time.

It really all begins on what the ceiling and basement numbers will be when UIL divides 5A into divisions. I actually think 5A DII basement numbers will drop low enough to keep Ozen and Lumberton in 5A and move Cleveland, Huffman and LC-M into 5A. That will have a ripple effect on the the rest of 4A and 3A DI. I have been told by folks in the know that UIL will do all it can to eliminate 4-5 team districts and have at minimum 6 team districts. Teams having 5-6 non-district games have been complaining about filling those games. UIL is finally listening. I think the UIL thinks going with division districts in 5A will help them solve that issue. We will see.

Looking forward to roaming the sidelines tonight at The Rez. Should be a good one.
