In a Region III Class 3A Regional Semifinal match up, the Silsbee Tigers takes on the Carthage Bulldogs in a 1 game playoff, TONIGHT 7:30pm at Angelina College in Lufkin, with the winner to advance to the Regional Finals!! Silsbee (29-7) defeated Orangefield in a best of 3 series, 2-1, winning game 1 5-1, losing game 2 3-5, then winning the rubber game 6-2 to advance to the 4th round. Carthage (29-7) took down China Spring 2-0, 5-2, to sweep their 3 game series to move on to the Regional Semis. Silsbee is the 21-3A #1 seed while Carthage is the 20-3A #2 seed. Actually, Coach Fentress was not reassigned. Coach Fentress stepped down himself for personal reasons. He will be the Defensive Co. and Head Track coach. He will also be the director of all Athletic Finances. My apologies for misinformation.

Steve Fentress has stepped down from AD/HC for personal reasons. Jared Slaton, former assistant football and head track and powerlifting coach, has been named new Head Football Coach and Boys Athletic Coordinator. Also, Troy Carroll, girls head basketball coach, has been named Girls Athletic Coordinator.

Lumberton ISD voted Larry Haynes new AD tonight at board meeting

Dakota will sign a scholarship letter to play baseball today for Brown Mackie Jr College in Salina, Kansas. Congrats Dakota!!

Arnaud won the tourney with a 3 day total of -5, 211. Rowell was 2nd with a -3, 213. Goodspeed finished 3rd, Rieves 4th and Maze 5th. Every player in championship flight shot over par on Sunday except Arnaud, who shot -2, 70. Calcutta was $14,500. Arnaud, Rieves, Maze, Rowell, Lance Vasquez, Evrette Nini and Corbin King (all played in Liberty tourney) are 7 of the 19 pros who will tee it up at the Silsbee Invitational.
