  2. Rankings have been updated for Dec. 7 and posted up top in pinned threads. A little movement in 5A with Kingwood Park entering at #22. Silsbee remains #1 in 4A Kountze remains #2 in 3A while East Chambers moves up to #21. Big Sandy stays #1 in 2A Beaumont Kelly enters Large Private ranking at #24. SETXsports has a new and unanimous #1 in Big School poll.
  3. Would greatly appreciate if you can get the SA scores for us.
  4. Need to submit your rankings by 3pm today. Thank you
  5. Cannot believe we did not get any results from this tourney. Come on Shepherd folks, who won the tourney and what were the other scores? Hardin, Anahuac, Goodrich???? Where are you?
  6. Sorta. Legacy head coach Kenny Hoffpauir got a bit frustrated with his starting 5 play early in game against Kountze and sat them at beginning of 2nd Q. Those 5 never saw the court the rest of the game. So, yes, Legacy was missing the last 3 quarters.
  7. Worst shooting game I have ever witnessed Angel have in all the games I have seen him play. (about 20). He was 1 of 11 from 3 point line and actually air balled one from the corner. Just wasn't his night but yet Big Sandy still wins game by 20 over 3A #2 Kountze. #4 Benson had his way with Kountze. Lions could not stop him. Also, BS pounded Kountze on the boards, particularly the offensive glass. Wildcats got plenty of put backs. I know it's still early, but Kountze does not look like a state tourney team right now. Saw them twice in this tourney, losses to Hudson and Big Sandy. Big Sandy will be back in San Antonio, no doubt!
  8. Unfortunately, Silsbee did not get to play another game. They were suppose to play Brenham at 3:30pm but Brenham had one of their star players tear his acl and break his leg in game yesterday morning. Brenham decided to pack it up and head home instead of playing that last game. Silsbee goes 1-2 in the tourney.
  9. SA McArthur beat Silsbee 73-60. Devin McCain did not play. Silsbee will play the loser of Pflugerville/Brenham at 3:30pm.
  10. Silsbee will play tomorrow morning at 8am. They will play the winner of San Antonio McArthur and Australian national team.
  11. Silsbee hit 17 three's in their win over 5A #25 Harlingen South
  12. Playoff brackets are not hand picked and the state tourney brackets are set up to have #1 and #2 seeds on opposite sides. In this case, the bracket set up can be controlled to a point of balancing the field as best as possible. Again, it is an easy fix. Just move HH to bottom and Sharpstown to top. Pretty simple to me.
  13. Well, in this case with just 8 teams, it actually is pretty easy to set up a "perfect" (balanced) bracket. Mamba and I have shown you the options they have to do such thing. The bracket is lopsided and really easy to fix.
  14. McDonald today, Montagne Friday and Saturday
  15. It's pretty easy to see which side of the bracket is the toughest and which is the easiest. To balance things all you would need to do is switch HH with Sharpstown.
  16. Particularly in the 2nd half and crunch time. My jaw was dropped. Many times it looked like a senior, seasoned player taking a young gun freshmen to school, but actually the roles were reversed.
  17. I wouldn't say that. We lose Grubbs, Thomas, Maze and Tanton. I like our chances with them plus the others than without those four. Silsbee will still be good, but I like those 4 seniors and we will miss them.
  18. We are needing the results from the following games played last night (Tuesday, Dec. 1): Diboll at Crockett Hamshire-Fannett at Anahuac Good Samaritan at West Hardin Timpson at Lufkin Pineywoods Alvin Living Stones at High Island Centerville at Chester Baytown Christian at Houston St. Pius Conroe Covenant Christian at Beaumont Legacy Pasadena Faith at Groves Val Verde
  19. Yes we have Bigcam. I know you have tremendous respect for Silsbee basketball. And yes, that Tiger football team is still a ballin!!
  20. I believe I can state this with confidence that as far as folks on this site, I have seen more Silsbee basketball than anyone. With that said, I honestly believe this is the best opportunity for Silsbee to win the whole thing in comparison to past opportunities. This team (and I mean the one when they have the full compliment of players) is very, very capable of winning it all. Will they? That remains to be seen and they will have to earn it. I have faith and belief that they can accomplish the feat. Might be wrong of me to put this undo pressure on them, but this team is as good a team as Silsbee has had in quite some time. I don't necessarily like to label a team "Title or Bust", but in this case, I feel that to be accurate.
  21. and the beat goes on. Does not surprise me. I have attended some of the pre meetings in past BISD/YMBL tourneys. The communication has lacked many times.
  22. Let me help you. Silsbee "Lite" played Beaumont Central last night. BTW, very big crowd last night in the Tiger Den. Just about at full capacity.
