Their game with PN-G is still on for Saturday at 2pm at Tiger Stadium. Not sure playing at Silsbee is a good thing for that field. Could be moved or I still say could/should be canceled.

From Jim Hicks RCS Sports: Former Beaumont Ozen coach Marquis Saveat has accepted a role as an assistant coach at Port Arthur Memorial HS. This is a big pick up for the Titans who are one of the favorites in 5a Region 3.

Silsbee ISD has made the decision to close for the rest of the week and open school on Tuesday, Sept. 5. I believe the game with PN-G will be canceled as well.

Silsbee ISD has made the decision to close the district for the remainder of the week, and will open on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 due to the catastrophic weather event occurring throughout Texas. We ask the public to heed all warnings from our Hardin County officials, and to remain indoors during this event. Please stay safe.

I believe there is no point in posting any game predictions. I am certain no local games will be played this week. No sense in trying to prepare for anything in this mess. Just call week 1 a wash (no pun intended) and move on to your week 2 opponent. We are forecast to get 15-20 more inches of rain up to Friday. Only playable stadiums locally would be Da Butch, Memorial, The Rez and Lumberton. East Chambers and Hardin may be playable but parking and getting there would be problematic.

Ozen's actual enrollment numbers ended up being 5A numbers. The initial number that some media reported early in realignment was false. Ozen is where their enrollment puts them, 5A.

I would make '85 Houston Yates a 12 point favorite over '88 Dallas Carter.
