1. Enough of this already. The message line was started by a crosby kitty. We have several kids who can play tailback....we just plug another into the system. The real threat to Crosby will be getting hammered in the mouth up the middle with Brentyn Clark and then trying to figure Montana Quirante out and what he's gonna do with the football. Bolinger and Stevenson will do fine at tailback tonight....let's just play our game. Good defense, control the ball and the clock.
 2.
Is he going to wear the shorts again you think? :)
Yes, he will. I just hope he's washing them...
 3. Looking forward to a great ballgame; no injuries for either side. Hopefully, we can get rid of myths and rumors and start a little football rivalry here.
 4.
How about we all just shut up and see what happens this weekend! All y'all are doing is arguing and it's getting nowhere because nobody knows the right answer. Come Sunday, whoever is up then can start talking crap. Until then all yalls crap is pointless.
c%#* is what this board is all about sir. This is smack talk central and if you proverbally can't take the heat.....
 5.
Seems to be a lot of smoke coming out of Vidor on injuries no?
The only Pirate not playing tonight is David Smallwood due to a non-football related minor surgery he had. Most of this "information" isn't coming from us Pirates. Besides, when can you believe the media about anything anymore.
 6. [Hidden Content] Explains why we're playing Crosby tonight instead of Saturday. One of his players from '09 told me he likes to watch the paranormal shows on TV. I gotta have a long, long talk with my boy.....
 7. I don't see Nederland being as good as last year given they lost all their starters. Central and Ozen will be too strong for the rest of the district this year. Nederland and Livingston will round it out but a couple of the other teams, LCM and my Pirates, may make a little noise. For once I have to say the basketball team is waiting on football to finish (believe that!!!) to get some of the starters back for the Pirates.
 8.

I believe my Pirates will do a little better than 7th in district.  We may surprise a few people once we get Montana Quirante back from football. Larry Sterling was a good promotion and long overdue. A lot of similaties between him and another young coach we hired a few years back by the name of English. Quinn was not a Jeff Mathews pick; that was one of the old school board decisions rearing its' ugly head. We'll see.
So,  Quirante is a Basketball player as well?  Hmmm..  Interesting.
Montana is an all around athlete..
 9.
Do you work with some Ned people?
Of course!!! And, I lived in Nederland for about 5 years off and on. I work for the company that owns the eastern half of Beaumont. Every school in our area is represented there.
 10. SoulJa, you gotta save the comedy on this one!!! Some of the best I've seen.
 11.

Vidor has got to run something well. It might as well be their mouths since it wont be the  ball .
Vidor - Soft Defense , Softer Offense  Mantono Kwirjanto is Softer than Charmin Nice caption crosbycougar... Montana Quirante ain't Charmin but he sure is gonna knock the crap outta some cougars tomorrow.... :o
If Montana's "Charmin" I do believe he'll be wiping the Crosby up from Provost Umphrey. You keep talkin' about your sophomore twins, you better get ready for junior Montana "Bobby Bouchette" Quirante.
 12.
OK, I don't like Vidor anymore......JUST SAYIN  >:(  One of those Vidor kids dressed my Cougar up last night.  ;D ;D ]
OK, I'm not DOGGIN' Barber's Hill anymore. This is too good....priceless.
 13. Good article, thanks for posting it Cap Rock. Game is at 7:30 p.m. David Bolinger is healthy and ready to go. Smallwood is the only Pirate not available for the game tomorrow night.
 14. Someone stuck a Nederland old English "N" decal on my work car this morning next to my Pirate flag decal. I'm not taking it off until both teams are out of the playoffs. [move]REPRESENT!!!!!![/move]
 15. Pirate faithful put 14000 in Provost Humphrey; Crosby says "next time we'll make them play in Waco!" Vidor 35, Crosby 21. Bolinger runs for 200 yards on his return as starting tailback....
 16. I wish someone would take this thread off the board and bury it in the backyard, deep where it never comes up again.
 17.
The citizens of Vidor voted to allow the sale of alcohol for the first time since 1962 tonight. Just in time for the depression that's going to set in on Thursday night.
Not bad Cap Rock, I'll give you this one. Not bad. The demographics of my hometown are rapidly changing.....

Also Nederland has tons of fans on here the last few years
Well, we've actually had something to talk about ever since English took over the program five/six years ago. It all turned around about 9 years ago when he and a few others started a little dribblers program in Nederland. As long as he is our head coach, we will continue to be competitive, and that will keep us active on this board. As I've said before, I don't expect Nederland to win district this season (as I expected them to win last year), but it will not surprise me if they win district again. With their 7th, 8th, 9th, JV, and Varsity teams all winning district last year, I expect Nederland will be very competitive for years to come...
HonestAbe, can't agree with you more about Brian English. I believe my Pirates would still be a force if he would have stayed. I still get sick at my stomach.....as long as he's in Nederland, you will be a power in basketball. Best coach in the area and a great man. We miss him terribly. I honestly believe he could coach at the next level; perhaps Lamar should give him a chance given the clowns they've been through in the last couple of decades.

Ball is in his hands for every crucial play
True.  Very true.  I'm anxious to see in what areas Smith have improved on.  We all know he can hit to 3 ball and he's a high flyer finishing above the rim.  I want to know about that midrange game and defense.
I have a question. If he's playing football, I wonder if he has had the time to really work on his game and improve?
Well, It's bee a few weeks since I've seen him.  I'm thinking he probably quit after he realized that we were not going to the playoffs vs. Vidor, which was 2 weeks ago.  If this is the case, he should have had ample time to practice and get ready for the season.
SoulJa,this kid is an outstanding player and I hope he's given up on football and concentrating on basketball. His chances of playing at the next level are with the round ball.
 21.
If he's having surgery its not gonna be a 1 week turnaround, but definitely best wishes for this kid.
Long story but it was minor surgery, just something that needed to be done before it became something worse. Appreciate the well wishes. Cougtalk, don't take too much I say serious; just having fun.
 22.

I am wondering why is there 3 topics of Crosby vs Vidor... all of them having Vidor talk a lot of trash.... Oh I know... It has been a long time sense Vidor has made the playoffs.  8 years running for Crosby under Flanigan.... And they all have to get it in now sense they will not have another till next year.. well I just leave you with this sense you have lost 1 or maybe 2 of your running  backs.... GOOD LUCK!!
Vidors knows they are about to get an old fashioned beat down . thats why they run their mouth. We are not just going to beat them cowards . We are going to embarrass them punks from Vidor I cant wait to see the look on their fans faces after this major reality check
No one has embarassed us yet this year and I doubt you'll be able to either. Concerning the coward part, I'd take that bet as well. It's gonna take a little more than two sophomore kids...no doubt they'll make some plays but we're talking team here vs. individual. I like my team's chances against your defense.
We were in the playoffs in 2009 against the Dayton Broncos. Only David Smallwood is out and he took David Bollinger's place who was the original tailback that got hurt against Nederland. He has now healed nicely and will be starting against ya'll Thurs.  Since Mathews has been the coach (12 years), we've been to the playoffs 3 times, which is two more times than we had been in the 30 years before. I don't expect any of that to end any time soon because I consider him one of the best coaches and definately the best AD in SE Tex. Consequently, if I want to start 10 lines about Vidor vs. Crosby, I will. Especially given the poor decision of your school board concerning playing a home and away series with us. Shame we have to still face those things in the 21st century. Besides, the other strings were getting lengthy and tiresome. I wanted to talk SMACK!
 24. I believe PNG has more 4A state championships than 19-4A combined.
 25. Heartfelt prayers from Vidor. This just happens way too much; especially this year. God bless them.
