If Bridge City couldn't pry him from us, I'm not sure anyone can unless they came up with 5A class money from a much larger district. Even then, I think he really loves our community and likes the notoriety he has. Something happens to Jeff and I believe some school board members here would lose their jobs quick, fast and in a hurry....

I was a member on the old boards and enjoyed this site enormously in the early 2000's. They have done nothing but improve providing fair and balanced coverage of all the local sports (I'm a bigger basketball fan). They do a great job monitoring for profanity and controversial subjects that have no place on a sports website. I travel a lot with my company and haven't found any website better including sports hotspots like California and Louisiana. Thanks SETX Sports for the great work on what argueably may be the best local sports site in the U.S.

The "Greater Houston Area" never includes players east of the Trinity river, so this is all B.S. to me. 20-4A has three QBs who would fit this bill. Raines, Green and Quirante come to mind.

It'll be two playoff victories after this weekend; Vidor 24, Montgomery 21 in a close one. The team with the least number of turnovers wins this one. I believe Montgomery has a good defense but so does Nederland and we were able to move the ball against them. Lost at their place on a fourth and 18. Our offensive line has proven all year they can play with anyone. Lastly, we have all our weapons including Bolinger and Smallwood back for this game. It will be exciting!!!!

I'm pickin' both sets of Pirates to win this weekend; the ones from Spindletop Bayou and the ones from Snuff Gulley. GO EC!!!

I can't speak for everyone else but I can say from the people I know you have made everyone in Vidor extremely proud. Each and every one of you have given the community something it can never repay you for; a sense of pride for erasing the "loser" stigma, a sense of comradery for erasing a large part of the "racist" stigma with the greater Golden Triangle-befriending the predominant African American schools in Beaumont, and for playing with as much heart through all the adversity as I've ever seen a local sports team play. There are several great sports movies that have typified their towns and you are every bit one of those. Now, I'm calling you out! You played the most flawless game of football last Thursday as I've ever seen Vidor play in forty years. Prove that you are more than hype and repeat it this Friday!!!
