Toups Graphics, I've enjoyed your picks and take on the games this year. Calling Vidor the "Black Pearl" has to be one of the best things I've heard all year. With your permission, I'd like to start a thread calling our Pirate ship the same. Keep up the great work!!!

We had two passes verses Crosby, blitzing our QB won't do much good. Our defense isn't big either, small and quick like yours. My angst wasn't directed towards you Monkeynuts. I think this is going to be a great football game...one touchdown or less....down to the wire. Good luck to you and the Montgomery Bears. First time we've played each other.

PNG beat us by a touchdown AT THEIR HOUSE and we killed ourselves with two fumbles in the red zone. We clobbered Livingston in Vidor. This game can go either way. No doubt Montgomery's good but the Walter twins are the two best ballplayers I've seen this year. You can only hope to contain them. Get ready for four quarters because we don't give up. Again, only Texarkana hung 30 on us the first game of the year in 105 degree heat at Lufkin (they still lost). Our kids are in outstanding shape and have more heart than any team you've faced. If your defense feels like blitzing, by all means, blitz away!!! The slot-T offense just isn't made to handle blitzing. By the way, if you do blitz sweetheart, his name is Brentyn Clark and he's built like a bulldozer (114 yards against Crosby). We have all our weapons, including David Smallwood, back for this Friday's contest. xxxx's and oooo's

My father, God rest his soul, had one belief when it comes to football: control the clock and you control the game. Flawless execution, no turnovers, good defense and keep the other team's offense off the field by holding onto the ball. Pretty well Vidor's M.O. anymore. Works for me. Buffalo Bills were really good about scoring points in under two minutes = no Super Bowl Championships. I'm not sayin' we're anywhere near the Steelers but I believe Thursday night was the finest 48 minutes in Vidor football history and we only threw two passes. If Crosby and the Walter twins would have had 10 minutes more of offense....my brain won't let me think like that, it just shut down.

Totally agree. At least turn it down a little. Here's a few artists if Vidor plays there again: George Jones, Tracy Byrd and Clay Walker since they all are Vidor Pirates. We could finish up with Stained or Disturbed right before the game starts....thanks again to Lamar University for hosting us Thursday night. It was like playing in BONEYARD 2.

Hated to miss the show but had a 3 year old granddaughter's birthday yesterday. Sorry, but you have to set priorities and football lost. Sure would like to make the Dayton game this Saturday given I'm working in the Baytown area this week.

I mean, we really hate ya'll during district. However, I have attended several PNG playoffs games starting in the 70s and I believe the comradery is still there. Also, I think there is quite of rivalry now between PNG, Ned and Vidor. And, it's been going on since Mathews became our coach. Before that, ya'll just beat the crud out of us and moved on. As far as the football teams go, don't expect any love, they're kids with a lot of testosterone. I can promise that we would like nothing more than to get another shot at Ned for the Region III championship. There won't be any love letters passed around at that game if it happens, I can assure. I'll stick with my original estimates. It wasn't solely a jab at Crosby, Livingston was just as bad the week before and last time I went through there, I didn't see any refineries. Vidor and Montgomery are playing next Friday at Galena Park. Any guess on what the Vidor crowd size will be? I hope the last person out of town remembers to turn off the lights. Just sayin'....
