Wasn't Silsbee in the district with Ozen when they first opened? 

Ozen has only been open 18 years and Central has been open for 29 years while Silsbee has been opened MUCH,  MUCH longer.  Of course it's common sense that Silsbee will have more history....

and to complete the Beaumont series (current BISD teams), Silsbee is 2-0 against West Brook. Defeated the Bruins 36-18 in 2000 and 27-26 in 2001.

Silsbee has played Beaumont Central just twice in football. 2002 and 2003.
Central won both games. 22-0 in '02 and 3-0 in '03.
Incidentally, those two years Silsbee went 1-9 and 0-10.

I know that last two have been brutal. You never know. Any team any given night can go down.

As for beating Silsbee, do not see it happening. Silsbee will be at least a touchdown better offensively this year than last year. Can't see BC being 24-30 points better than last year. It will be a closer game, but I see Silsbee still winning by 7-13 points.

2012, Reed's junior season, Silsbee defeated Lumberton 41-0. Tigers led at the half, 41-0.
Dogs were called off in 2nd half.
2013, Reed's senior season, Silsbee won 49-21, with Lumberton scoring 2 TD's late in game.

Lumberton played the Reed team in 7v7 and regular season game and I watched all of them. In my opinion,  this team is more of a complete team.

Silsbee looked strong. I've watched them up close in games and scrimmages for the last 10 or so years. This is the best Silsbee "team" I've seen. I really didn't see a weak spot. Exceptional speed at WR and RB, impressive QB, big OL and DL, DBs all looked 6ft+, fast and athletic. Just a scrimmage but I was impressed with Silsbee.  

I do believe Silsbee will be improved and I expect the game to be much closer this year. But last year I felt Silsbee was down much further than I've seen them since the drop to 3A. And I'm seriously not trying to knock them at all, just an honest opinion. They will need to make some vast improvements to get back up there with Jasper and WOS. I will say this, I know they have talent in the school and I've seen what went thru their Middle School. If some of those kids are still playing I expect they will turn it around.
