  1. the day you here Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker are not coming back?/ :o

Hey dawghawk, no one really laughed at your ill attempt at humor the first time so you felt you had to post it again? I notice you jumped on the board during football season this year and seem to be either anti hawks or anti Dubois.....Sorry your kid must not get much playing time so you try underhand tactics to blemish the program...Maybe your kid should step up his game a little.

So because the Dubois are good Christian people does that bother you enough for the Baker reference? Is it just them or do all Christians bother you?

Also do tell what your normal posting name is not just the one you made up to bash the Dubois' with.

PS just to show all of your post:

Can HJ go all the wayyyyyy!!!!!
  2. Let me get this straight, the question that Craig S asked would be ok if he would have asked it in a different thread? You and the other HJ police wouldn't think its bashing if it were on a different thread?

No Cobb you are right it is perfectly acceptable...

For what it's worth this "HJ police" would stand up for any kid getting great news only to be questioned by a bunch of has beens, want to be's and never were's
  3. Dang, why is everyone so touchy? Craig S asked a question and a couple of you attacked him. Has the world gone so PC that people can't ask questions? Or, can we only ask the questions that everyone likes?

There are about 100 players on a college roster. If you have a backup for each position on offense, defense and special teams that comes out to 66. That leaves about 1/3 of the roster as stand-arounds.

As an alumni, Craig S was wanting to know where Roe Wilkins will fit, but some of you took it as him bashing the kid. R-E-L-A-X people and congratulations to Roe!!!

You have questions ask away, but not on a thread congratulating a kid. You go start a seperate thread, you don't turn a positive thread about what a kid has done AND EARNED and turn it to a question of his worth. If you can't comprehend that I am sorry.
  4. Nope not at all...and she doesn't think so either...but she did that with a torn labral tear in her shoulder and nerve entrapment in her leg during the indoor season...red shirted the outdoor season...had two surgeries (second on her leg) in the summer within 5 weeks of each other...rehabbed them both at same time in order to not miss any off season this fall - still making the comeback and will jump again for the first time at Texas A&M in 2 weeks....

*** for the record all of those placement gained points for her team...so from that stand point yes....on a personal note - NO

With that said evidently SHSU has faith enough in her to offer her scholarship money so evidently they see potential just as Lamar sees potential in the ones "some" may deem non-contributing. Otherwise no college would throw money (scholarships) at an athlete they had no faith in.

  5. Thank you sir - congrats to Roe, and best wishing to him as an LU Cardinal.

By the way - I am an LU grad...my daughter high jumps for SHSU so I do support them as well with plenty friends with kids on the LU football team....I'd really like to see them do well - WITH Coach Woodard at the helm.

Looking at SHSU it appears your daughter has the following placements for this past season 7th/5th/8th/3rd. Would you consider that contributing.

Not being sarcastic just wanting to know your definition of contributing.

I agree with AAW if you have a question about Lamar's recruiting then put it on a thread there but to come in and question a kid's ability on a thread congratulating him is in poor taste in my book.

  6. I'm sure I'll catch it for this post, but it's a serious question and not bashing. Is this a serious pickup for LU or just another local kid? Who else has offered him SLC or otherwise? On paper he has the size and will more than likely beef up as some have said....but will he actually contribute to improving LU or just another local on the roster to stand on the sidelines.....

Locals on LU roster = 25

    Locals that contribute = ?? (5 - I'm guessing) correction: I was told about 8...still pretty low...out of 25...

Congrats you have made a$$ hole poster of the month. Why not be happy for the kid? I saw what he has put in the past few years. He has been one of the leaders of this team and has reached out to many of the under class man to help them better their game.

Lamar will be lucky to have him and I can tell you this HJ does not go as far as we did this year without him.

Keep your head up Roe there will always be negative people around.

  7. Great season boys I personally enjoyed the ride. I could not be prouder of one of those MoFos on the field tonight he played lights out.
La Grange made better half time adjustments than we did, Dobbins is the real deal and earned my respect. We need to work on our passing game LaGrange put 10 in the box and we couldn't get them out.

Proud of these boys and coaching staff.
  8. one thing for sure hj goes into EVERY game believing they are winners.that makes a difference at times like this.go Hawks

Thanks WOS#1 it takes a winning attitude and a group of young men that have a "we can do this" attitude. Just an interesting comparison HJ has won more games this past 2 years than the combined total of the previous 6 years 2007-2013. I am not saying we will be better or worse next year (we do lose some key players) but you have the a key ingredient to a winning program, (pride), starting to filter into a program that has needed it for a long time. Coming from a dad with 4 boys one still in Kinder. it has been a fun transformation to be a part of.

  9. The problem is that the OL is always the red headed step child. This thread demonstrates that by the amount of people showing their support! Where would any team be without the trench work. It take an unselfish young man to bust his butt only to have the recognition go to those he is blocking for! Kuddos to the WOS OL. If I'm not mistaken the most highly recruited player comes in the form of an OL or DL player! Go OL!!!!!!!

highest paid NFL players (on average)
