1. The LCM girls basketball program is looking for a scrimmage Tuesday November 9th.  Please contact Coach Amanda Ellerbee @ LCM High School for details or PM me and I will give you contact information and numbers.
 2.
let me put it this way...I haven't seen Sonnier from LCM play and I am sure he is an outstanding player, but I ain't trading our Sonnier for theirs, no way...Trevin is extremely versatile
You would have to throw in too many other players to get an even trade for Zack Sonnier anyway.  ;D ;)
 3.
SOLD OUT on visitor side.
I don't doubt that it's a sold out visitors side, but you are assumming all of those will be decked out in purple.  Post something after the game and let us know how many on the visitors side were sporting black and gold.  I KNOW they'll be there.
 4.
just a heads up for the png fans: Last year I attended the LCM game in Vidor and it was Vidor's homecoming... Expect the entire population of Vidor to come out.  Parking is a problem but the bigger problem is seating.  Last year MANY vidor fans spilled over and were sitting on the visitor's side.  Not only was it jam packed but having Vidor fans on that side led to some "heated discussions" amongst the fans. Since PNG carries such a big crowd... anticipate the problem to be worse this year. Why would Vidor allow their fans to sit on the visitor side?  Sounds like a recipe for disaster. I agree with your account of last year and also agree that this game is a disaster waiting to happen.
I agree with your account of last year and also agree that this game is a disaster waiting to happen.  What you may not know is that school officials from Vidor came to LCM officials last year asking LCM to give up part of the visitors side to "reserve" that for overflow Vidor fans.  Didn't happen, but the visitors side was filled with black and gold anyway. Vidor police actually showed up on the visitors side to confront some terrible LCM students that werw actually standing up to cheer on their team.  Luckily students avoided being arrested for felony standing and clapping. One more "heads up" to PNG fans.  For those fans who think that halftime is the right time to visit the concession stand to get a little something to eat or drink...last year the visitors side concession stand CLOSED at halftime so the workers could go see the halftime festivities.
 5. I saw PNG last week against Ozen and their secondary was much tougher tonight that I thought they could be.  I thought one of the biggest keys to the game was that PNG's corner (#6) did a great job of holding Zack Sonnier (IMO the best receiver in the district) in check almost all night.  Don't have a name, but nice job kid.  The biggest turning points in the game are when LCM has no time outs left and the clock runs out at the 1st half when they are stopped at the 1 yard line and then again when PNG stops LCM on the first possesion of the 2nd half.   This was an opportunity for LCM to seperate themselves from the pack, but it just didn't happen.
 6.
dont get me wrong i think LC-M is a good team, but i went back and looked at the records of the teams they have beat this year and well it is not that impressive...tale a look at them at maxpreps
I can understand your thinking.  Records can be deceiving sometimes.  Most people would think of a teams record as unimpressive if they were say........3 - 4 and barely pulled out some of those W's.  ;D

 8.

LCM better blow out PNG if they want to win, because I have seen some strange things happen with the refs in Mid- county!!! ;D :D ;) Can I get an Amen!!!
Wow you must not remember the WORST officiating I have ever seen when LCM came to PNG last year. Yes he was from Orange County , even threw one flag against PNG and showed excitement. I hope they never let this guy back in Port Neches, it was terrible. Everybody gets bad calls from time to time , it happens. I have umpired baseball in the past and believe me you know when you blow it but some things are beyond blowing it. As in everything some people are better than others , I guess officiating is no different. Slam14 - as a PNG fan I say we are the underdog this year.I feel we have the best offense in district this year but might be last in defense. LCM has a good team and should be recognized as such. I am not making any predictions on this one , just staying hopeful.
This district is all about (and I guess every other one too) match ups...and I expect this to be a close game.  Doty is a strong armed quarterback who when in trouble gives ground and stays cool enough to throw the ball away instead of taking the sack.  LCM's secondary has got to stay in good coverage while Doty is on the move.  The Bear secondary didn't get as much credit as they deserved in the Lumberton game because I thought that many of the sacks that game where due to good coverage downfield.  We will need another great performance from the Bear D to beat PNG. Sorry about the underdog thing...I just can't ever recall anyone in purple sincerely make that statement.   ;)
 9.
PNG need this one to stay in the hunt. You never know whats gonna happen on Friday in 20-4A. Good luck to both but for giggles. PNG 28 - LCM 24  i like the underdog
So, as a PNG fan you are declaring the Indians the underdog?
 10. I still respond to this question the same EVERY year it's posted with the same answer - - - I was just a kid, but the best game I ever witnessed (and I've seen a ton) is 1972's PA Lincoln with Little Joe Washington VS PNG and Jeff "The Jet" Bergeron.  There have been a lot of great backs from this area and you can make agruements as to who is the "best back ever" from the golden triangle, but Joe Washington is at the VERY top.  Both teams said "Here is our stud...try to stop him", and neither did.

 12. K'Ville's Ford is tough even when everybody in the stadium knows he's getting the ball.  Great runner.   BUT...IMO the most explosive running back in the area is Britton Lindsey - WOS.  This kid could/should be leading the area in all rushing categories.  You know how the saying goes..."Who's was the only man to consistently hold Micheal Jordan under 30 points a game?  Dean Smith!  Same logic applies here.
 13. Best?   After the catch - Mark Roberts WOS.  Great speed and tough in the open field.   Possesion receiver - Zack Sonnier - LCM.  Clutch receiver.  The "go-to" guy when you HAVE to have the yardage.  Doesn't look to have blazing speed, but seems to always be open and in position to make the catch.  LCM spreads the ball around, but IMO Zack is certainly tops in 20-4A.

(like last year) Are you gonna make the trip to Brenham for it?  If so, get here early....  Small stadium, that only seats 6,000 + a game between 2 of the best 4A teams in the state = packed stadium.  We already have to use 1/3 of the visitors side to fit all of our fans, and another 1/3 for the visiting band.
Brenham Fan,  Looking for some info on a young man that stepped into the O-line for the Cubs when the starter went down this past Friday.  Josh Miller.  Heard he played big...got details?
He played a great game and definatly held his own Friday.  You can't ask for much more than what he provided.  I was impressed.  Adrian Bellard's knee injury has been diagnosed as a mild, grade 1 strain.  He's questionable against Spring Woods, so Miller will probably start.  Bellard could play, but I doubt he will, considering Montgomery's next, and they will prolly use this as an extra week to recover.  I don't know much about Miller though.
Hey thanks for the insight and details.  Much appreciated.
 15.
The debate is who is the best QB . Not What QB playes on the best Team. I dont think but one of the kids named plays the first down on Def. So it can not be their fought that their team cant stop the other team.
I understand your thought process, but what "Fracc" is so delicately tip-toeing around is that it's hard to label a 0-5 or 1-4 quarterback the best in the area....and I agree with him. If you torture stats enough you can make them say anything you want them to say.  I'll take the QB that puts up W's over more "attempted" passes any day.

Despite LC-M's win last night, I wasn't impressed.  Ozen didn't stay with the bigger running back and their safeties were out of position on both TD's.  Like I said, better coach on 11th street will lead to a 3 TD victory @the Butch.....
1st. Central vs LCM is not at the Butch.... It's in BEAR COUNTRY. 2nd. Central should not let LCMs score vs Ozen go to your heads.  LCM was in clock management for most of the second half.  Coach Crouch doesnt run up the score. 3rd.  Scores dont matter in district.  Ws and Ls matter.  LCM WILL be ready for Central. LCM by 12
Nothing goes to our head and we do not underestimate oponents. We're just getting better every week.  Not quite where we want to be, but trust me, we will be.  This is just another big game with our young QB showing more and more maturity.
True statement about Central not underestimating opponents. . (Even though I know some PNG fans will object) Central has been the measuring stick for 20-4A the past few years and nothing has changed yet.  This is a huge game for both communities and certainly another big test to LCM's mindset as well as abilities.  LCM will have to regain the intensity of the Lumberton game to shutdown the jags. Bears in a close one.

 20.
After watching these kids from LCM give Pearland Dawson all they could handle in a 7 on 7 tournment in Texas City this summer. All I can say is they are for real. Ozen will have thier hands full containing these kids as well as everyone else in the district. Being a Central fan I'm hoping our game against Livingston gives our kids in the secondary a little more experience to handle the passing game and the D line and linebacking core the oppurtunity to find that old Jaugar knock your "D" in the Dirt mentallity. Say what you want. LCM is the real deal this year and they have waited a long time to get there. And finallly may have done a better job recruiting kids then Hooks has. LCM by 14 over a banged up Ozen thanks to Central.
Recruiting kids???  LCM seems to be the "Real Deal", and I agree that I'll back you with the 14 point spread...but you totally lost me with LCM's recruiting success.
 21.
I don't generally like to post on this, I just like to read others opinions. Unfortunately, I can't let some of the comments on this one go. I have been attending athletic events for about ten years where the Raiders competed against the LCM Bears, whether it be volleyball, basketball, football or soccer. I can say, from my experience, that LCM both wins and looses with no class. I don't understand it because I know some really great people whose kids attend school is that district and compete athletically. I have been at basketball and volleyball games where the parents have actually promoted the unbelieveable unsportsmanlike behavior of the student fans. I have even witnessed the LCM students and LHS students at the LHS gymnasium acting inappropriately. They are kids. The only difference in LHS and LCM is that I witnessed LHS's assistant superindent and athletic director put a stop to the LHS kids behavior immediately. I have never seen that from an LCM coach, whether it be football, volleyball, basketball or soccer.  Yes, we the Raiders got it handed to us Friday night. LCM played an awesome game. My only problem with the game was the chop blocking that had absolutely no other purpose than to take the LHS players out. I honestly can say that, even from my past experiences with LCM athletes and fans, I never expected, on this night, that from their players. Just unbelieveable to me, and maybe only me (I get that!)  I heard one of our defensive players say that he spent the night trying to protect his knees because it seemed their only purpose was to hit him in the knees. Do they actually coach their players to do that? Hey, LCM, in my opinion, has a great team, their guys don't have to play dirty - show some class, hold your heads high, do it like Reggie, and make the playoffs! You have the size and the talent - this could be your year! Good Luck Bears!
WOW!  For someone who is trying to make a point about "class" your post is about as "class-less" as they come.  Get a grip on reality.
 22.
Please tell me someone has pictures of the Bears and Mustangs together. So sorry I missed that. My daughter (a WOS cheerleader) came home after the game excited as can be. She wouldn't stop talking.
td,   Sorry you missed this [s]game[/s] event.  What started out as a football game turned into something SO much more.  There is no way I could do justice to the night on this keyboard.  This was an event that will stay in the minds of those who were there for years and years. My wife took plenty of pictures and many of them included your daughter and mine on the the cheerleading sqauds of WOS & LCM...I'll figure out how to get them to you.  I am hoping that KOGT will set up a page where people can send in photos of this game and create a gallery for this game.

That would have been a good test to see were your team is this year.
I'm not sure why they did not play, LC and Mauriceville Jr. High's are not even playing each other.
I personally think its a good thing the jr. high programs dont play. These kids have to come together in a couple of yrs. and there dont need to be a rivalry going between these two. jmo
I know we're getting off topic here, but I think the junior highs not playing is a good thing too.  The rivalry was too great some years.  I think this ought to be taken one step further.  The junior high season is pretty short anyway. Why not schedule your open date late in the season and use those two weeks to prepare and combine the junior highs for the last couple of games?  Get an early start on "togetherness" for a change.  Just a thought. Back on topic - - - Lumberton is obviously solid and LCM is as good as they've been in a decade.  If LCM adds a few new defensive wrinkles to stop the Raider running game then I like LCM's chances in this one.  Should be a great game.  I'm sure the size of this crowd will start the avalanche of moanings about how small the LCM stadium is.  Come early...should be a great show!!!  LCM by 10.
 24.
Same here...think BH will be at Friendswood, but no detail yet.
Looking forward to it. I know your household is excited about getting back on the court.  I hope everything is at 100% with no lasting problems.  Hope to see you at a gym soon. Good luck to Shannon and BH in the upcoming season.
