LC-M beats HF week 1 and now they are supposed to beat WO-S because the Stangs lost a shortened game on the road to a solid Nederland team? Not today, bubba. Not today.
Stangs by double digits.

BU by a TD is my selection.

What was the final score on WB/United? I’m leaning BU in this game, but I think it’ll be a good one.

Notice most don't want to admit Ned had a lot to do with how we looked.Except for bonehead delay of game and false starts Ned pretty much handled us.
Both teams are gonna be just fine. It was a good early season game for both to play and both teams will improve because of it. Two very evenly matched teams in my opinion. The defenses for both will keep them in most games and if the offenses improve and start clicking the teams will be really good.

We picked up Lufkin last year.

Super impressed with the Ned secondary last night. WOS receivers were covered all night. WOS has some good RBs that run hard. It was a hard hitting game. Ned offense got hot at the right time. Ned QB is a much better runner than I expected and we already knew Fuselier was a beast. Great pass by Kendrick on the trick play! Both teams will be fine. The defenses should keep them in most games.

"AJ (Hayward) catches the ball really well, (Jaqualion) Chaney is just downhill, Marco (Hayes) is shifty and can play receiver. Kendrick Sam is a steady guy, who can do everything and play both of our running back positions." — Memorial coach Brian Morgan
Like I said before in the off-season we'll have 4 RBs that'll run the rock and a little more this season. Just stay healthy please.
If any of those RBs need a big O-Line to run behind and wants 25 carries a game, I know a guy 😂.

I mentioned the drop off in the run game from what we’ve seen the last several years BEFORE last night’s scrimmage. It’s really a shame too, because we have a huge O-Line to run behind. Hopefully, someone will step up. I think the defense is okay but there’s been a few mixups in the secondary. Bottom line to me is this… if we don’t find a reliable run game, then we don’t beat good teams. I certainly classify WOS as a good team.

I only caught the last half of the live quarter for the Ned game. Offense looked pretty good, there were a few mistakes (overthrown or underthrown balls, possible wrong routes run.) The D-line and O-line looked good, big boys on both sides. The D will be tough, they get to the QB and swarm the ball, they recovered at least one fumble that I saw. The secondary needs some work, but I am not sure if it was first team still playing or if it was backups when I was there.
We have a lot of work to do. There is a HUGE drop off in our running game from what we’ve been used to the last several years from what I saw last night.

Wow! The Indians with the nice assist for the Bulldogs! Thanks Smitty!

Congrats on a great season! Loved watching the Coogs playoff run. Can’t wait to see the Aledo RB play at LU!
-
5Dimes has Aledo -15, it was -19.5 earlier
-
5Dimes has Crosby -1... I may or may not have placed a large wager on the Coogs. 😂

FBM is solid, but Ned was so bad on Saturday that I could list pages and pages of teams that would have beat the crap out of us, including Crosby. If Dunn is healthy, I think Crosby will win this game.
-
I think this will be a really tough game. FBM is definitely the favorite, but I can’t wait to watch my Dogs give it all they got. This team has been so fun to watch. Hope we keep it going!

With an average team like Crosby able to drop 60 and donkey stomp Pine Tree’s district champion you would have to think Ned should win this game by 30 since Texas High beat Pine Tree 44-0 in district play?
If only it were that easy... lol

Was very impressed with Dunn’s sportsmanship in the Ned game. Great leader for a really talented team. Next week is gonna be a great game I think.

Great job, Coogs! Domination from the first snap! Go Dogs!

Tiger fan here. Not here to flame the Crosby faithful. It is safe to say neither of us really know our opponent on Friday. I have posted on Smoaky.com that I am predicting a 21 point win by the Tigers. I see similar predictions by Crosby fans the other way. Let me tell you my impression of the Tigers. I have followed Texas High since 1998. I watched there run to the 5A state championship in 2002, followed by a state semi-finalist in 2003, and a regional finalist in 2004. This is the best team since 2006. The strength of the Tigers are their Defensive and Offensive lines. The defensive line has arguably the best set of defensive ends in the state. Clayton Smith #10 is a 6-5, 220#, 4* commitment to Oklahoma. His is rated the #2 outside linebacker in the nation and the #7 player in Texas. He has a motor and is an efficient tackler. His bookend DE is Derrick Brown is a 6-4, 220# junior. Rivals has him as a 3* and #59 in the 2022 class. The inside tackles seem to get a good push and can disrupt the passing plays and keep blockers from getting to the linebackers. Secondary is solid. They are hard to evaluate as the DL puts so much on the QB their passes are often hurried. The key for Crosby is holding the off field push our DL.
The offensive line is solid. They had their worst game against Lake Creek. However as the game wore on, they took control of the line. They have provided good protection on passes and opened holes on run plays. I think three are in excess of 300#, one 285#, and peewee is 265#. For the first two games, the Tigers rotated QBs. Then the coaching staff made McHenry #12, a junior, the stating QB and moved Cellers #5 to WR. McHenry has been completing approximately 65% of his passes and Cellers is his big play receiver. Cellers is an excellent athlete and has committed to Texas Tech in baseball. I think he has caught 15 TD passes. Other receivers run good routes and have good hands. On 3rd down watch for Clayton Smith to line up as WR with his 6-5 frame. Decision time ... do you double Cellers or Smith. Right now the running attack is led by our #3 running back - Witcher #13. Our #1 running back had a concussion approximately a month ago and has been seeing limited action.
I’m not saying anything your coaches won’t see. Hopefully this will help you in watching the game. It is my understanding the game will be live-streamed at texarkanagameday.com if Crosby doesn’t have a livestream. As a neutral 3rd party(Nederland fan), I don’t see either team winning by 21 points. Two good teams going at it and I suspect it will go down to the wire! I don’t think either team is winning by double digits. Should be a great game!
