Dont forget that we also must find a way to control cow flatulence. A tax on the rich might work.

I would classify those who accept bald face lies as reliable information to be low information voters. Not because they arent capable of understanding its a lie but because they believe that the motive behind the lie is ok or because the liar is a nice/likeable person. Hence they do not care to pursue the facts/truth as it may give the "other guy" the upper hand.

4. Their representatives run the government- yet the poor keep getting poorer
5. The poor keep getting poorer- yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about- yet the want America to be like those other countries

stevenash got a reaction from 77 in Obama's Broken Border
Yes, one of the main jobs is to protect the border. But our government is too busy intruding into other peoples lives, spying on people, and devoting its energy to abusing the opposition via federal agencies such as the IRS.

stevenash got a reaction from 77 in Can someone tell me why
When you give your money to the government to "help the poor" about 20 cents on the dollar reaches the poor. The rest is used to feed the behemoth bureaucracy administering all of the plethora of "compassionate" programs

Al Gore thinks you should ride a bicycle to work while he flies in his private jet too.

stevenash got a reaction from 77 in Quote from Ben Stein- Contemplate this Big Girl
Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen.
Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens.
Think about that for a while.

stevenash got a reaction from usedtobe in Obama's Broken Border
It was some time ago that Mr. Obama publicly stated that our borders are secure. He also stated the world is a safer place. I strongly disagree with both statements. -
stevenash got a reaction from smitty in obama's Goal: Destroy The Rich?
To what extent to do we go to make things "fair". Half of the country pays no income tax at all. Why aren't they part of Obamas "shared sacrifice"?

stevenash got a reaction from smitty in obammmmmmaaaaaa
Yes, Obama is really brilliant. Except when it comes to economics and telling the truth.

stevenash got a reaction from smitty in Big girl- the discussion was hypocrisy/lying
Big GIrl, now that you have finally acknowledged the the debt is in excess of 17 trillion, lets go back to what was originally being discussed about said debt and see how you feel.
When Mr. Obama was campaigning prior to being elected, he criticized Mr. Bush for the amount of debt the country had accumulated (around 10 trillion at the end of the Bush presidency) Mr. Obama stated, in a campaign speech( easily verified) that what Mr. Bush had done was mortgage the future of our children. He further stated that to accumulate that much debt was irresponsible and unpatriotic. In another campaign speech, Mr. Obama promised that, by the end of his first term, the debt would be cut in half. We are mid way through the second term and the debt is 70% higher since he began his presidency rather than 50% lower. Does that suggest that Mr. Obama simply lied or that he doesn't understand ( in your "friends" words) macroeconomics? P.S. I would prefer your opinion rather than that of a relative or friend.

PamFAm- I, like you, am disenchanted with the majority of all politicians, regardless of party affiliation. If they are so disappointing and so unproductive, doesn't it make sense to reduce their reach into our lives rather than increasing it?

You must be a "teabagger" and that will get you in a lot of trouble on this board because what you described above is what the left calls "extremist"

stevenash got a reaction from Big girl in obama's Thugocracy...
I don't think we are allowed to accept anything issued from Fox News. Big Girl, PamFam, and Enlightened/Chosen tell us that Fox news lies all the time. But worry not. If this is true and the President finds out about this ( by reading in the newspaper just like the rest of us, of course) ,he will be outraged, and there will be a major investigation and the perpetrators will be brought to justice ( where have I heard that before). Lord help the investigators if it comes down to finding any email evidence.

stevenash got a reaction from 77 in Hobby Lobby
Just saw where this company pays it full time workers an average of $14 per hour. Shouldn't the left be praising Hobby Lobby instead of fighting them in court? ( Especially since they are dedicated to the "plight " of the "little guy", that the hourly wage is more important than saving 4 out of 20 methods of birth control)

Thanks for that info. I am going to guess that the performace of his successor has a lot to do with people reconsidering their evaluation of Mr. Bush.
