If the BU vs Silsbee Games are standing room crowds let them play, it’s good for recruitment for both teams in The Beaumont Area. 

Thank you!  Budget, money etc., factors into a public schools schedule big time.

I think the YMBL had a better field than the LaGrange La. tourney United played in last week.
 
I get what you are saying. I think United "could" play a more tougher schedule and be just fine. But playing a couple of local teams, including Silsbee, doesn't hurt their program. As long as Green and Sigler are coaching those two teams, they will always play each other. That's a fact.

Let's just end with this ^ It seems to be the most logical statement thus far.

Easy solution...
Write an email to Ron Jackson and David Green. Tell them BU should only play other 6A & 5A teams that can stay within 10 points of them.
Glad we got to play each other and hope to see you in San Antonio.

Do I think playing Silsbee as your second game in less than 20 hours, and having them run you harder than pretty much any team has made you run all year might tire a team out?  Yeah, I do.

You beat our freshman/sophomore team, because of this stupid pandemic. It's still an L in the record book for Silsbee, but when you tell the story, tell the whole story. 

At least the football game was competitive this year. What was the score again??

You can't blame the Silsbee backers or players for believing in their team. That is what you have to do, for going into battle thinking you are going to lose is a loss before you even set foot on the field. I do not know anything about Cuero other than that they are a good football team being where they are, but the same thing can be said about Silsbee. You are a fool to believe that Silsbee has not got better as the year progressed. Silsbee's team and backers should believe that they are capable of beating any team until proven otherwise. Win or lose leave it all on the field, nobody can ask anything more. Go Tigers.

Sounds like someone still butt hurt. But keep the comments coming because I’m sure this year‘s team turns that negativity into tackling fuel. We all know everyone thinks Jasper and WOS was the better team but doesn’t matter now because the Tigers are the only ones taking another bus ride. 

When silsbee dropped to division 2, I was glad that we would finally have some competition and be challenged in district. Early this season I heard Greg tepper on fox say that "silsbee was his dark horse to come out of our region. Even with the likes of 4x state finalist wos and perennial power jasper."
I filed that away in the back of my mind like most early predictions. Then after the losses both teams had in the preseason and jasper rolling over everyone. I thought there is no way. I had wos pegged for rebuilding and probably 2 or 3 rounds deep.
Then comes that 1st district game to basically decide the district championship. What a nail biter. I needed a nerve pill. But we pulled it off in the end.
Last week was a rematch against obviously 1 of our biggest rivals. We had a great win for our team and coaching staff. It's hard to beat a team 2x. But here comes silsbee again.
All week the weather and possible rescheduling loomed over the game. If it would have been saturday night at Lamar. The 2 programs could've put on a display of talent the golden triangle hasn't seen for years. And probably set an attendance record for provost umphrey stadium in the process.
But it didn't happen that way for a reason. The football gods had other plans. This was battle in the worst conditions possible. Equally matched, it came down to who made the fewest mistakes. Silsbee also made the most of their opportunities.
Now the task of continuing the tradition by making it to state. I always hope the team that beats us wins it all. So at least we can say we were beat by the best.
Also it would be nice to upset a defending state champ in a district game next year.

If it depends on when everyone plays each other that means Silsbee is better than Jasper right now.

Have you been to Texan Drive Stadium?
PNG is local but to me that is the only benefit & I think the opportunity for a fight has decreased with the decision.
Texan Drive Stadium provides a better Videoboard, Sound System, Facility, Hospitality, Parking, etc...
When teams keep on advancing so should the facilities & Texan Drive Stadium is just the better one.

Why not play @ Larry Ward Floods All The Time Stadium.
The hospitality is great & gives people opportunity to run the old flat bottom boat.

Silsbee will only score 7 WOW!
Newton, PNG & Nederland couldn't even hold Silsbee to (1) TD but ok.

True fans travel & we are only talking like a little more than an hour away....(I have seen many people car pool no issue)
The State Game isn't played in SETX so I'm not sure what the issue is. The farther you go as a team, the farther you will travel.
Also playing local increases chance of a fight starting from people that are not Mustang or Tiger fans. 
My opinion I think Texan Drive Stadium is the better option.
