Everyone is happy to have the 2020-2021 school year in the rear view mirror. SETXSPORTS.COM did our part last year continuing to broadcast games even with limited sponsors assisting us pay the bills. That was ok and we were happy to bring the games home to everyone.
But now is the time to get on board for the 2021-2022 school year and it kicks off with football the last week in August. So from now to July 15th we have our best package prices available and we are looking for old and new sponsors to join our team. The enterprise needs to give out awards in small and big school divisions, but they won't, it's too much work.  To only have ten spots for kids from however many local schools (50? 100?  Not sure what their coverage area is), they're clearly trying to avoid giving out 3-4 awards to one school. they easily could've done that with United this year, and Silsbee in years past.  The Super Gold teams have never been done well.  In high school I was a 4-year first team all-district soccer player, was offensive MVP of the district twice, and set season and career school records in goals and points that haven't been broken 17 years later, and I never even made second team.  One year two players from my district who scored less goals and had less assists than me both made the team ahead of me in the same position.  It's a cool honor for those who receive it, but those that are left out shouldn't put any stock in it.  

We'll see.  I'm still considering their job offer.  Two expired movie tickets and a handwritten voucher for one free massage from @AggiesAreWe.  IF, and it's a big IF, I turn it down, then they might hire one of these fancy coaches from out of town.  

The word is that Chambers County zoned those parcels for multi building residential, so they wanted apartments in that location.  If you want to attract people to your area then you better have affordable housing for the people that can't afford a 300k tract home.  Not all apartments are section 8 or low income, so that is a little bit of a mischaracterization.    If you're not willing to make housing affordable, then you can only coach up the current talent base so much.  Also, to think that BHISD bought those parcels to lessen traffic congestion is a little ridiculous.

Well, let's see.  Ashly Elam posted that LC-M will be hiring a familiar face.  Matt Stepp promised a "BIG Stepp Bomb" from the Triangle today and I have had coaches texting me that West Brook is about to be open.
If someone here was supposed to keep a secret, it was one that had been revealed to everyone else.

My comment was directed to cb for his attempt to hijack this topic. I know his ways all to well. I agree with your analysis though, definitely offensive. Just choose to take the high road this time.

The locals (not you guys, uh...other locals) have changed their stories as the results came in.
The hire was high profile when it happened.  As it should be.  Highly paid. TW had a resume of titles.  TW had players of the highest caliber that played at Allen.  If 5 years ago, somebody had said "3 playoff wins in 5 years", the locals would have disagreed and said you're crazy.
He underperformed.  
I have a few other, too long, posts about this being all about the context of the hire.  This wasn't just another hire.  Wasn't supposed to be.  The idea (from the locals) was that here was a guy getting paid state title money, coming from a state title school, going to a district that had the money and culture to bring home...state titles.  That didn't happen. 
39-17 in 5 years.
3 playoff wins.
2 District titles. (A district that has been dominated by 2-3 teams the last 10 years).
About 3 years in, I asked when BH will say "Yeah, didn't work out and we need to move on."  Looks like TW made the decision before that point.  
Someone posted a list of coaches that have put away some titles with other schools.  What makes anybody think the results will be any different than the last 5 years?  
Just not so sure paying the most money for the most successful coach on the market makes a program more successful.

Jason Garrett, Wade Phillips, Jeff Fisher, Tom Herman, Rex Ryan and others have been rumored for this job.

One could say it's harder to live up to the expectations than no expectations.
One also could say Sigler could have warranted the COY. Lost 90% of his scoring from last year, started 2 freshmen, 2 soph., 1 senior, with the bulk of the team that saw significant playing time being freshmen and soph. Took the team to the regional finals once again (7th straight year) defeating a heavily favored Houston Yates team along the way. Two of their district losses due to having to play the JV in those games because of Covid. You could say Lumberton benefited from a terrible DEC decision. IMO, if Silsbee doesn't have to play their JV in those games, they win district.
Again, just think Green deserved it more.

Why can't they treat it like all district selections and give everyone co-coach of the year!! Everyone gets a trophy!!

In all honesty, I (and some others) like to give you a hard time sometimes but thank you for your contributions to this board.  It is always more fun when both sides are represented.  And your contributions and information about not only JY but Houston in general is much appreciated.  We don’t always agree but much respect to you sir.
