1. hay the way nederland handled the twins maybe they were worth the hype that dline sure seems good.
 2.
While watching the replay of the game, I must say I am really impressed with how the defensive line played.  They have absolutely dominated the game from what I have seen so far.  I am also impressed with the running back Hopkins, kid runs extremely hard and always pushing forward for that extra yard.  Also looks like the o-line played well making the holes for Hopkins to run through and gave Carson enough time to get the throws off.  With that being said I hope this team keeps up the intensity and keeps improving every week to make a deep run this year
I question how much of the utter dominance was crosby's o line being bad. I know nederland has a great d line but i question if it looked better than it should have because it was playing an obviously lackluster line.
 3.
Crosby is also very over rated. I knew ned would shut them down after I saw crosby last week against mw.
We'll see in a couple weeks. last i saw Dayton scored a whoping 17 points tonight.
 4. nice job good game from the Bulldogs your boys seems really strong. Early in the season hope we get another shot at you later on. Nederland was dominate in the first half, and the cougs never really where able to deal with that line. Great game for nederland and good luck the rest of the way.
 5.
I was watching alright. Crosby probably had negative yards in the first half. Their first first down was a facemask penalty.
and a 35 yard run from Austin. like i said your not watching.
 6.
Who are the twins? All I saw tonight was Ned's #90 in Crosby's backfield.
Then your not watching.
 7. Cougars playing better in second half.
 8. Cougs aren't looking too good. We will see if they can make it a game in the second half.
 9.
Ned fresh A  43    Crosby fresh A  59
Wow. apparentl we can score the football.... we can score the football. and thats it.
 10.

I totally agree with Dayton on this. What was Summer Creek thinking when they chose to go up against PNG right out of the box? We bring a crowd but good Lord those people bring the whole town!!! It will be an awesome test for ya'll. Good Luck.
At least they are projected to have a down year.
beginning of the season anything can happen. but on another note, They just moved into a much tougher district maybe getting some Beaumont hair on the chest will do them good.
 11. The Cougars Go Home Happy... no we're not talking about Nederland Teahers. and in the infinite words of Sheldon Cooper Byzenga.
 12.
The twins are in the same grade as my son and I have watched us play them since 7th grade. Yes they are fast, yes they are elusive, and yes they will make a lot of linebackers look silly. They can though, be contained and stopped. Now saying that, I am picking them in a 21 to 14 win over Ned. and BTW Ned. didnt BH beat yall last year?????
Sure if your dawson or manvel.... the cougars turn the ball over they lose, don't turn the ball over they win. period.
 13. What they love us, they really love us. Cougar <3
 14.
Nederland 42 Crosby 38
no way this happens.
I have to agree, if they had trouble stopping Dayton's running game they are in trouble versus the twins.
Refer to my pick-m's........  That's going to get ugly!!!!!!!
i picked Crosby to win long time ago.
i can vouch for that i saw your picks 2 weeks ago.... but you were the only one at the time.
 16. I don't believe the hype on Summer Creek and i don't believe sharp has been tested, and more importantly i don't think any team in this district is the clear favorite... i think Crosby is more confident than they have been in quite a few years... the kids have an expectation of winning and i haven't heard a single bad word from a player about Coach Riordan... that NEVER happened with Flan. From the first day Flannigan walked through the door people seemed to have problems with him, good man just rubbed people the wrong way i guess. I always liked him, but theirs one huge transition happening this year.... The basketball players are playing football... all of them. That hasn't happened in a long time, the result is Crosby is more athletic than its been. As for tigers my point is Crosby lossed that game and Vidor won that game... and the difference in score was because both things happened simultaneously.
 17.

Most of our better players play both ways.
Which is probably why yall lost to Ozen  ;D
I highly doubt it.....  We'll see if lightning strikes the same place twice. It's also the reason we've been as successful as we have been.
KPK AND OZEN... thats twice mate.
 18. Nederland... well if its exposing them after what dayton just did to them.
 19.
well, let's see...vidor did "handle" Crosby's speed to the tune of a 42-20 victory last season...if that is "not handling" Crosby's speed, then i hope Nederland can't handle it either...keep in mind that Vidor was the 3rd place team in our district and they beat Crosby by 3 TDs...Nederland was the district champs and have 16 of those starters returning Look, I respect Crosby and do think that the Dogs will have their hands full with those twins...they are very talented and will pose problems for anyone...just don't act like they are unbeatable because the facts state that they were 6-5 last year, meaning that 5 teams got the best of them last year...no one is unbeatable, you are better served to respect all of your opponents... As for Nederland's defense, you are right...they are terrible...Crosby will likely hang 70 points  ;)
Love revisionist history mate. I love how we don't look at the fact that ball positioning, special teams, and turnovers helped Vidor tremendously in that game. They scored 48 points on 306 yards of offense... all rushing offense. 3 Crosby players ran the football all 3 had better yards per run averages than any player on Vidor. The thing that lost Crosby the game, was defense, not offense 2 turnovers don't help but the defense played horribly and vidor was smart... the play was run away from caldicut every play and once Hernandez went down... no one could stop the FB on third down. Was a poor showing by that defense, and a pretty strong showing given the circumstance by the offense, for crosby to have won that game our offense would have had to score literally every time they had the ball, that's how little possession we had of the ball.  The coaching staff of vidor new they weren't fast and had trouble with speed so they did what slow teams do, take the air out the ball... in there case they literally flattened the ball and just handed it off every play because it was working. Vidor was the better team because Crosby clearly had a much worse defense.
 20.

scdawgs didnt take long to get to the +400 post mark... i wonder how many post he'll have after sc  does the new school death sweep? 0-3 to BH DAYTON CROSBY have a good year hope fourth suits you well... domination i say domination!
When you have a team talented as ours its hard to keep quiet.
You'll find all of the teams in these discussions are very talented. BH is returning the player of the year in district play, has a solid pass defense and but the fact that they can't beat a certain set of teams, had a stellar season last year. Dayton went the furthest of any team in either districts in playoffs, they will be very good this year, and they have a ton of talent. Crosby of the 4 teams has the best backfield of any of the 4 and is very easily the MOST EXPLOSIVE (not necessarily better or worse) of any of the teams. SC has a good QB good receivers and an ok defense. the reason i say ok is the defense hasn't gone through a truly difficult season yet. Dayton has been good in 2 districts with 2 sets of very difficult opponents. Losses to Willis and Magnolia west aren't bad losses but how much better of losses are they than Barbers Hill losing to the two fastest teams they played, seems like they had a bit of bad luck, they get matched up against another smash mouth team they probably would have beat them. They did beat Nederland the opposing district champ 13-10. Yet Crosby beat them, and Dayton beat Crosby... because in 19-4a coaching will matter a lot, so hope your coaches and our (new staff) are up to the challenge of coaching in a great district and we will see you on the field..... p.s. no one has a tougher first 5 games than Crosby if we make it out of that 3-2 we are doing fantastic. wow.... Nederland/Willis/Dayton/bh/SC

 22. scdawgs didnt take long to get to the +400 post mark... i wonder how many post he'll have after sc  does the new school death sweep? 0-3 to BH DAYTON CROSBY have a good year hope fourth suits you well... domination i say domination!
 23.
So for HSsportsfanatic55 what you said about the defence seems a little off to me. When i played for the 2010 offense going against that defense everyday was outrageous. Also hearing from other teams saying that our defense was one the toughest teams they have ever gone against, also i believe they were ranked very high in the state rankings as a defense. So i would love to hear more info on that?
no offense redman but the defense this year is more athletic an stronger than any defense we've had in a while. i think they are better than 2010's defense in sheer athleticism and speed, however that doesn't mean they will be better, only time will tell that 2010's defense was very good but it also benefited heavily from being on the field far less than other defenses. The defense is dominating the offense in practice from what i'm hearing. (thats not easy to do given the talent on the offense.)
 24.
Crosby doesnt see 20 points. Ned- 24 Crosby- 17
I agree on the Crosby not seeing 20... but i don't think Nederland sees 15. 16 Crosby (I'm predict going for 2 on 2 TD's =-)) 14 Nederland
