1. No Offense to Sterling but if i as a parent had the opportunity to send my kid to BH instead of Lee i would do so in a heart beat.
 2. If anyone can remember that far back... the Crosby v. PNG game was an absolute thriller this year, and the Dayton Crosby game was decided literally on the last play.
 3. yeah it doesn't make much sense to put porter and new caney in a district with Crosby and BH and send Dayton to the north. I suspect 19-4a will stay pretty close to how it is now, just minus a team.
 4.
so more talented. what makes them more talented???? 40 times??? height???? shuttle run???? good football players win football games. blocking, tackling, prepared, clutch play. vidor had good football players and a good football team. why shouldn't they win. the big plays against montgomery and the play of the qb/lb were phenomenal the next week. why when vidor wins does it have to be a slap in the face of who they beat. more talented....talented at what????
Bud Crosby fans didn't make excuses we got beat because our team made mistakes and Vidor didn't . The closest thing to an excuse given was the fact that one of our 2 beast on our defense hurt himself and got knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter. When vidor wins vidor fans will try to rub it in for hours. Dayton was probably more talented than Barbers Hill this year but issues and BH's option offense won vs Dayton Due to matchups. Honestly Vidor is a matchup problem for almost any team without a top notch defense... ala Angleton. It's like this is 19-4a would have gotten the matchups to suit them best it probably would have been PNG v Dayton, BH V Vidor (LB core was very good), Crosby v. Ozen (Very similar teams.) and GCM v Nederland (Mainly because nederland had a great defense vs a pretty good power run game.) However the matchup of Vidor vs Crosby is in favor of vidor because they simply didn't make a single mistake all game, and Crosby is an opportunistic team. I like how 40 times tend to matter to you guys, but honestly the thing that sets Austin Walker apart from other backs is his extreme quickness and his ability to cut back. Some of the better LB's in the region (BH) couldn't touch him let alone tackle him. Dayton had a very tough time with him as well. Vidor played well but we got down and just started throwing the ball so much it wasn't our offense anymore.

Hands down most productive offensive player on the district's best offense, with the district's best numbers.
I agree that it should have been Austin or Tyler. Tyler has a better average yard per carry that Austin did and I garuntee thatTyler didn't have as many long break away runs as Austin did. Tyler is my vote for MVP. Denny does a great job running the offense at BH, but his numbers do not warrent the MVP IMO.
So Austin gets penalized for being the every down back? Sorry bud i just think this says it all. Austin Walter - Crosby Rush: 207 att, 1359 yds, 16 TDs, 6.57 avg Recv: 20 catches, 184 yds, 2 TDs 1st Place Rushing 1st Place Points Scored (110) 1st Place All-Purpose Yards (1543) See those 1's that means hes better than anyone else in district. As for the discussion of offensive MVP, if the statement "most important offensive player for his team" where the case then Merka would have won that award all 3 years he played. It's simply fallacious to say that. Austin was the most explosive and exceptional offensive player in the District period. Why would you penalize him because his brother is good too? that makes no sense.
Wrong again ;D It just means that he got the ball more times, not that he was better! The yards per carry says more than the total yards IMO.
It also means he had to carry more of the load, and that he still played effectively for 4 quarters. If the cougars would have had another back to take some of the 3 and 1 runs, he probably would have had a much higher yard per carry average. He didn't have a FB to take the 1 yard run on 3rd and 1, he ran it for 1 yard. Also the statement makes little to no sense when you compare the # of points he had. Or the fact that getting a good ypc on 10 rushes a game when people are geared to stop ur qb, is much easier than getting a good ypc when your the guys everyone in the district is trying to stop. Simply your ypc crutch is the only argument you can make, and when also comparing the # td's, the dual threat nature of Austin, and the fact that he is 1) a better back, and 2) more explosive than any player on the BH squad. Stop being a homer and recognize the immense talent that is Austin Walter.
 8.
;D
I think liltex has been the most productive poster. The rest just make ad hoc assumptions, liltex gives you a reason he believes what he believes.

 10.
can't someone file an open records request to see who applied?
You could but those normally take 14-28 days to process, and we would know who the coach is by then. Also i'm not sure if you can do that for applications.
 11. [Hidden Content] all i found on starks
 12. Crosby will not make a decision until Corsicana gets knocked out of the playoffs. Wasn't that obvious?
 13.
Caleb Randolph of Crosby, TX  plays for West Texas A&M University, NCAA D2, was named 1st team Lone Star Conference and 2nd team Super Region 4 team this year. Had 5 ints and 52 tackles .  Not D1, but pretty good to get honors at any level of college play. He is a Sr DB, don't know how good he was in HS, but doing well in college.
He was an Anchor for the 4 Deep Crosby Team 2 Years ago.
 14.
Merka got messed over every year. Im a bronco fan and it still shocked me how he always got looked over. Last year without merka the coogs would have been lucky to win 5 games. Everybody knows that these awards alot of the time are a joke and have no merit its just the way it is. I think the offensive mvp of 19 4a is an example of that.
+1 Bronco fan who is realistic.
Chance Casey- Baylor (defensive starter) Dominic Merka- TCU (moved to TE has not played) How many schools in 19-4A have more that 1 or 2? I would say none.
Kicker is going D1 and i believe Donnie Starks is going play for Kansas state. (also had offers from Texas AM. )

This job has been a done deal for weeks. Take that to the bank.
Yep, ding....ding.....ding......we have a winner.
Who might i ask is the person going to get hired according to this, my rumor mill has gone silent.
 18.
Olin has a good  track record for sending QBs to the next level.  The big question would be " Would he be a good fit for Crosby?"  If I had a son that was a QB that is who I would want, but if he was not a QB, I would not be sold, his record at Lewisville was not up to par. What other names outside the district are in the mix?
more than this, i doubt olin would allow the 5 foot 8 Aston Walter be the QB. Given his height an inability (physically) to see over the line, I doubt Olin would play him at QB means he would have to find another position. (Or grow about 4 inches at least.)
 19.
A long-time Robert E. Lee head football coach plans to throw his resume into the ring at Crosby High School. Dick Olin, who compiled a 106-67 record in 17 years at Lee, said he plans to apply for the head football job at Crosby. Olin has spent the last three years as the head football coach at Lewisville, where he compiled a 7-23 record. He said he was reassigned to maintenance after the 2011 season.
So we are getting the highest paid maintenance man in Texas to come coach? Great!
 20. I think ima come visit with the bulldogs for this one... GPISD Stadium right?
 21.
Dawson should also be 5a.  The Pearland area is loaded  with football players.
I'm hearing about 20% of the Dawson team is from Ohio. and I also heard one of the 2 great DE's from Manvel is from Florida (His dad moved here for a refinery job after a refinery closed in Florida. ) aparently the area is growing because of plant closures in Florida/California/Ohio... no wonder talent is coming to them sheesh.
 22.

chase thier baseball dreams ...really...i cant recall a good baseball team from Crosby in a while...in fact i cant recall a real playoff contender from 19-4-A since 2008? and that wasnt Crosby....Kids drop out over there because they are in trouble or cant make passing grades same as in the baseball squad your baseball coach wouldnt put up with the brat pack and he was in hot water with the school board over that as well..and the school board re-instated kids that he booted. Flannagan is gone becuase he counldnt win a playoff game or rumor has it he was forced to resine during a pre-season argument with some racial racebaiting from the School board? Either way Crosby has issues like most schools with color, grades, troulble or a school board that wants to drive the bus?
Crosby had a player drafted second round by the Toronto Blue Jays. We have another pitching prospect who has a chance to do something similar, they may not win all that much but Crosby's baseball players do a ton of work and play year round. We have very very talented baseball players at Crosby.
 23. I've been hearing this decision will not be made because they are waiting on a coach to finish his playoff Run. (I was not informed which coach that is)
 24.

How do you figure that?  Three of the four are in the third round, including the DC.
It's not being mean to the BDawgs, I'm just honestly more impressed with Vidors wins over Crosby/Montgomery then yours over GCM/Stratford, and Ozen has beat 2 District champions already with Brenham/BH. Not saying Bulldogs aren't really really good, just more impressed with Ozen/Vidor.
I would expect that thought, everyone wants to see a offense score 40 or more points before they are impressed. But when you run up against a defense that shuts your high powered offense down then your in trouble. Good defenses don't make a lot of headlines but they win games.
Really its not about that, more so in that i don't think you've played a really quality opponent yet. If you beat Dawson 3-0 i'll be just as impressed as if you beat them 42-28, because i think highly of Dawson.
 25.
Coach Kay at North Shore would be a great hire, I wouldnt be sure if he would leave the Mustangs, But if he did, Crosby would be a power house. That man knows defense
I'd love to see Kay come as well, the school board is under extreme pressure right now i doubt many of them keep there jobs come next election. Crosby has a lot of talent, never said anything about a ton of d1 talent, but they do have talent. The Twins aren't gone by any stretch of the imagination, from what i'm hearing. Not to mention the Sophomore class this year is loaded.  Crosby doesn't exactly have a shortage of talented players. @Joe Bob i expect another spread offense, as that's what your best two players have ran there whole lives. As for Barrett Issue... FFS leave it alone we get it the schoolboard is retarded, but they doesn't take anything away from the people who live, work and raise families in Crosby.
