Just looked at the brackets and actually finishing second or even third is a pretty good deal. Only time Kelly will see Thomas or Plano Prestonwood is in the State Championship.

The Kelly Bulldogs locked up there spot in the playoffs tonight with their 56-38 win over Houston Christian. This might have been the first time all season the Bulldogs were favored on here ;) and they did not disappoint. The Bulldogs came out ready to play and jumped out to an early 15 point margin. The lead got down to 6 at one point but a quick 7-0 run got the lead back up. The Bulldogs would put the game away at the line shooting over 30 free throws in the game. Kelly will play St. Pius Tuesday night for 2nd place in district. Good job guys.

With two district games remaining, the Kelly Bulldogs enter tonight's game with Houston Christian with a chance to secure their playoff berth. The Bulldogs are coming off a good win over The Village School and are looking to continue the good play. The Bulldogs beat Houston Christian on the road in the last matchup. It should be a good test of the way this young bulldog team handles their buisness. Houston Christian, in turn, is also playing for their playoff lives so it should be an exciting game. Should the Bulldogs lose they would have to beat St. Pius next Tuesday to create a three way tie for second place. Win the next two games though, and the Bulldogs will host a home playoff game and lock up a second place finish in district. Game starts at 7:30....Good Luck Bulldogs.

I guess they aren't know for taking down Oak Hill (with Brandon Jennings and Tiny Gallon) and St. Patrick with Dexter Strickland in the same tournament.... ::)

Wasn't really referring to this site's coverage. But houston is local, I'd rather see Bellaire win the state title than Duncanville.

They are a local team...yes Houston is local enough....who has risen to national prominence. They are worth the price of admission to see play that is for sure. Ozen had a good run with Kendrick and people talked about them. Yates is doing the same and then some

Good individual performance and game but I think you might be getting a little ahead of yourself here. Yes Yates is great but what about the other top 25 teams who are all ranked ahead of Ozen? Lake Travis,LaMarque and Lincoln are no slouches. The only time I'd want the matchup with Yates is in the Championship.

Yates by 20 +. Go watch Yates play people. To understand the system and the constant pressure they put on you you have to see it. This group is the same group that beat two of the premiere teams in the nation two years ago by beating Oak Hill and St. Patricks.

Hold on now not saying what they are doing is right or wrong but Yates has beaten some national powers like Montrose Christian. They also have won tournaments in Alabama and Hawaii so they have beaten the good teams.

I totally disagree with this when Kountze and Silsbee played at Ozen Coach Joubert got after both of his stars and sat them when they were screwing up, he is a good coach and knows that he is doing with his players. Also how do you know what the coach's policy is on technical fouls? So East Chambers sat their kid, How do you know the kids for Kountze wont be running tomorrow for a long period of time? Its easy to judge from the outside looking in ::)

Kelly loses four Seniors but returns the majority of their bench and 4/5 starters.
