I know some here don't believe it but here's another example:  The three big mainstream media networks spent only 11 minutes over the past two weeks on these hideous videos concerning planned parenthood.  But -- they spent 14 minutes in one day concerning the killing of this lion in Africa.  Have we gotten to point now that animals are more inportant than the hideous dissecting and illegally selling off the parts of unborn babies?  And, by the way, it's just not unborn babies.  On these videos they state that births happens before they could abort.  But they dissect anyway.  People -- that's killing a child.  But, I'm sure other lions in Africa feel much better that people in America are concerned about ol' Cecil!

    Father-in-Law Day
Father-In-Law Day honors your loving, funny, and cheerful father-in-law. Okay, so perhaps sometimes he is a little grumpy and intimidating. Regardless of his personality and charms, this day is dedicated to your spouse's Dad. And, he certainly deserves a little recognition.
Good ways to celebrate this day are to send him a card, spend a little time with him, or give him his favorite snack.
Important note: If you gave your Father-In-Law recognition on Father's Day,  it's okay to give him a little recognition and a show of appreciation today, too.

I'm sorry about my posts on the PNG and Lumberton post. I'm just so tired of outsiders downing our boys! These boys may not win as many games as they like but they play hard and with a lot of heart. These boys love our town and are staying in Lumberton because they want to represent their town. The attitude this team has this year is way different than the past couple years teams.

Yes I get comments at work and everywhere about supporting Lumberton because in their eyes Lumberton "sucks" but you know what I do not care what others think because I support ANY Lumberton sports team no matter what!

You guys play 1 game that is not on a Friday night. Sept. 26 at Galena Park. I chose to see a better game that night (WO-S vs. Richmond Foster).
All my Friday nights but 1 are for my broadcasts of Silsbee games. Will not be broadcasting Silsbee at Coldspring on Sept. 4 but instead broadcasting Shepherd at Kountze on that night. Crosby is off the same week as Silsbee (Oct. 9). So my choices of taking in a Crosby regular season game were slim to none.
But I, like all Crosby fans, expect to see them at NRG in mid December winning a state championship. Otherwise, it's a waste of time and season.

Yet again you play the "yall" game. Judge everyone by a single or a few but do not want to be judged by the same standard.
I have seen so many people video me and other officers that I probably can't count them all.  I have stopped other officers that have tried to keep people from filming by moving them far away.
Most officers that I work with now know that they can be videoed at any time and simply accept it. As a supervisor I am the first one to get complaints and many times the first thing that the officer says is look at my video.

The statistics and numbers do not support your claim. 11 million arrest and 400 police killings per year......even if all black (BTW majority is white) ....do the math.  you have a .003637 chance of getting killed by a cop.....

According to the FBI, there are more than 12 million arrests per year. That is not merely public contacts which might be around 200-300 million.
If only 1/10 of 1% of all arrests are wrong by police officers by using too much force (meaning 99.9% are okay), that comes out to more than 12,000 cases per year or more than 30 per day. If it is a full 1% of arrests then it is more than 300 per day.
To put those figures more in perspective there are an average of about 33,000 arrests each day. With police cameras, jail video, citizens videoing and exterior videos such as store cameras you can bet a majority of them are on some kind of visual documentation.

First off, there are several policies in PA that deal with this and two specifically about computer usage of which one is about social media.
Then you use an article from another state to show a similar incident. In that case it has the officer referring to the mayor as a gorilla. I think you will find no such posts that even imply race in the PA news article. Of course people are trying to be mind readers and guess what someone is thinking. I suppose next we will not only lose free speech but free thought as the thought police will move in.
In the most recent article last night from KBMT they went back almost a year and found one officer messaging another officer on how many fights would happen after a basketball game. Racial slurs were not used and in fact race was not mentioned at all. So we have one officer asking another about the number of fights they will have and nothing more and it is racial?
I guess if you are looking for an issue you can find it in almost any statement.
What I like are some of the comments and conclusion drawn by Facebook commenters. One was from a person that "researched" the last four years and there were no fights. I can only assume that the research was googling for news articles. This week in PA in the time frame of 10pm-6am on Thursday-Sunday there were about 300 patrol units dispatched or rolled up on crime scenes. Many were felonies and I think it was Saturday night officers took five illegally carried handguns off the street. On Sunday afternoon in broad daylight there was a drive by shooting in a crowded apartment complex. See how many of those cases you can find on the media sites.
Because you don't see it or read about it doesn't mean that it didn't happen but people come to that conclusion.

Because people are more comfortable with people that look like them and have the same or similar life experiences. I could make this next example black or white, but i'll make it about social class. I'm a middle aged white dude living a middle class life, and according to my girlfriend, going through a mid life crisis....If I walked into a room of white people I did not know, some in nice expensive suits drinking wine, others in jeans drinking beer, and some with long haired and  young doing shots......I'm going straight to the guys that look most like me.
My brother lived the segregation black/white at TJ.  I lived it when the Asians came to TJ. With my brothers era, whites and blacks did not get along. In my era, Blacks and whites got along pretty good, so good we would team up against the Asians.
You can't force people to like each other. We have to understand we are all more comfortable with our own. That does not make one a racist. I find different cultures and races interesting. I probably ask too may questions......
When the world makes it OK to be "you", that is when racism will go away.......
My two cents.....i hope that was on topic Buddy:)

Walk on Stilts DayIt’s Walk on Stilts Day! Most often seen in parades and at the circus, stilt-walking is actually an ancient art. To learn how to do it, all you need is a pair of stilts and lots of practice (and maybe some extra padding, in case you take a tumble).
Did you know that some people used to actually need stilts? It’s true—in the 19th century, stilt-walking began in Landes, France. Residents of this marshy area took up stilt-walking as a way to navigate the wet terrain. It is said that they performed all of their daily outdoor tasks on stilts!
If you've been waiting for an excuse to give this fun activity a try, today’s your day! Keep on the lookout for stilt-walking festivals or events happening in your area to give it whirl. Happy Walk on Stilts Day!

Doesn't mean I'm not doing it to intimidate you. Doesn't mean you shouldn't be concerned. Doesn't mean that you shouldn't be keeping a watchful eye with your own gun handy. At least, that's what I'd be doing. I wouldn't be ignoring it like the president seems to be. And I certainly wouldn't be alright with that like you seem to be.

I think the media is the biggest problem in race relations right now.  Look at the Michael Brown case.  He was made a martyr by the media, while the officer who shot him was simultaneously tried and convicted in the news for "killing an unarmed black man.". Now it's been irrefutably proven that the shooting was completely justified.  This barely even registered in the news.  A racist killer cop gets page views, while a cop just doing his job does not.  Every time a questionable (or not) shooting happens now, ferguson is brought up.  it's been proven that A) Mike Brown was a criminal who had just minutes earlier committed a felony   B ) he attacked an officer and tried to take his gun and C) charged the officer again after already having been shot.  Even though all of these are proven facts, the media still portrays him as a victim of racial violence, to the point that he's GETTING A STATUE in his honor.  How does this happen?  A felon attacks a cop immediately after committing a robbery and is shot and killed, and his hometown gives him a statue?  The media, that's how.  One of the most divisive events in decades was completely misrepresented by the media or it wouldn't have been divisive at all.  It's also led to more divisive coverage.  Sandra Bland should not be news.  Eric Gardener should not have been news.  When police are crucified in the media for doing their jobs, and especially when the media puts racial spin on it, it's incredibly divisive.  There are literally less than a handful of police killings a year where police act outside of the law and kill a black person, despite there being tens or even hundreds of millions of police interactions with black citizens a year.  And those officers are generally indicted, tried , and convicted.  And while any such killing is unacceptable, the media has led many to believe that police violence perpetrated by white cops on black citizens is not only commonplace, which is inaccurate, but is the biggest problem that blacks face today, which is laughable.  The media is solely responsible for this, as well as the polarized view points surrounding these cases, which have set back race relations tremendously.
