  1. Past hour
  2. I think you’re right about the EVs. They were shoving us that way, kicking and screaming.
  3. The SPR? I’ll have to look when he did it. Was it before any elections? 🤷‍♂️ You know he tried, well maybe not him, to drive us towards EV’s by driving the cost of gas up.
  4. Today
  5. I hear what you’re saying, but if this is so, why did Biden deplete the SPR if he was trying to drive prices up? Demand soared upwards when the economy got hot during the end of Covid and production wasn’t ready to keep up… that’s where the higher prices came from. The president can’t just say “I want high prices (or low ones” and move the markets. They’re still ruled by supply and demand. Banning drilling and closing pipelines? Sure, it can affect supply in the long run, and therefore prices, much like starting a war in the Middle East can do in a much shorter period of time. US will guarantee the vessels and cargo, and offered protection. No takers, though. It’s one thing to say “if something bad happens, we’ll make you whole,” but I’d rather skip having my tanker blown up.

  7. It should not be that hard to address the topic and not another member. It’s not like accidentally blurting something out in a conversation. It’s typing and you have time to go back and look at it. Not that my opinion matters but I am not a fan of calling people out with the @ symbol. If that person feels like responding he/she will. That person may not even want to read that thread. There is no need for @someone and @you and ask what do you think of YOUR guy now. Post your comment and if no one wants to answer, great. But, that’s just an opinion That is not the same as calling a mod/admin’s attention to something or asking another person an educational question like @bullets13 to ask about being a teacher and/or the rules they follow. It’s really not that hard.
  8. This is one of many reason this snake needs to go!!

  10. There is almost no way that they reverse birthright citizenship. It is one of the few times that this court will use interest balancing to get away from any original context.
  11. Credit for it. He reversed JoeBama's war on oil/gas. JoeBama's war was to increase gas prices so much that people would cry uncle and beg for EV's. Never happened because this is not what people wanted. But the Dems didn't care, they were gonna force it on you because they know better. This is what drove the price of gas up. Higher cost to companies is passed on to the public. So, Trump reversed these policies and consequently prices came down. This is not rocket science. As baddog said, global conflicts effect oil prices. The Strait of Hormuz if not actually blocked by Iran. But, tanker companies have installed a personal blockage by not moving their ships because of being scared of being attacked. They said they would start back up if Trump could guarantee safe passage.
  12. I don’t see Trump nuking Iran. He’s trying to prevent WW3, and that’s what we’d have if Iran were to nuke Israel. Then oil prices would be the least of our worries.
  13. OK, I'll bite -- what's the master plan?
  14. As of a minute ago crude oil was $95.33
  15. [email protected] Tom Halliburton’s Track Volume 38, Number 4 OK, not bad.... Another solid week of track and field performances from our athletes at the Southeast Texas high school meets, especially at Vidor and Houston. The weather cooperated again and 16 new area-best numbers resulted in the 34 UIL state events on the first March days. Golden Triangle athletes brought home 10 gold medals at meets in Houston, Huffman or College Station and that certainly has a way of shortening the ride back home. Even the Vidor Pirate Relays produced seven new area-best numbers – more than the Vidor meet normally has produced. Congrats go out to Hamshire-Fannett’s boys and Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s girls for capturing the team titles at Vidor. Now let’s dig into the impressive athletes. Throughout most of its 20-plus years, Port Arthur Memorial’s boys have been more dominant than the girls track team. Evidently, these 2026 Lady Titans are tired of sitting in the back seat. Coach Tamela Roberts saw her girls capture four gold medals and deliver two other GT-area best relay times at the Sonny Donaldson Relays on Friday at Aldine Davis high school. Darrell Granger’s boys added two golds and one area-best time but it’s unusual for the girls to outshine the boys in Port Arthur’s track spotlight. Tatiyana Crain swept gold in the shot and discus. Jalexis Neal won the 100 meters and ran the anchor on the winning sprint relay with Ariana Leday, Jada Guilbeau and Alicia Francis running ahead of Neal. Guilbeau and Neal comprised half of an area-best mile relay team along with Delia and Torrie Washington. Nederland’s boys also had to take a back seat. The Nederland girls delivered three new area-best times at two different venues. Kiley Havard, Marie Hawkins, and Avery Parigi carted home gold from Vidor with Havard notching new area-best times in both hurdle races. Ella Mecom trimmed off five seconds from her previous best time in the 1,600 at Texas A&M’s Bluebonnet Invitational. Oh yeh, and Mecom’s 3,200 time of 11:27.04 on the previous week at Bridge City broke a 25-year-old Nederland girls school record set by Lauren Pinder, according to Dale Dial. Your track writer definitely doesn’t keep up with those school records. So I’ve got to trust coach Dial on that one. Beaumont ISD’s track and field programs are not quite as established as some of their neighbors. First-year mentor Caleb Ceaser certainly is attempting to elevate United’s program off the ground floor. It’s obvious that Renwick Johnson and Kirby Jones have the Bruins starting to make more noise on the west end. West Brook’s boys came home from Houston with three gold medals and two new area-best outings. Junior Joe Bowser improved his area lead in winning the discus at 153-10. Terence Mouton produced the fastest area time to date in the open quarter, clocking a 48.93 in the prelims. Versatile junior D’Andre Carter won the 300-meter hurdles in 39.93. Another mighty good WB junior, John Fowler, improved his 1,600-meter lead by more than two seconds at A&M’s meet. We have an abbreviated schedule of meets coming up now. But great performances still may emerge from those meets. 16. Here is my thoughts on that and anything else that is said and not said. Anything we know, the enemy knows. When Trump post on Truth, I think it is more for the enemy than us. If he stated we are not going to do "insert whatever" - he is also giving the enemy information they can use. I don't think he will put boots on the ground, I think at the beginning the deal with Israel was we will help you bomb them, but you put the boots on the ground.....and to me, if I was Israel, I would think that is a fair deal. I am impressed more than concerned that Iran has not waved the white flag. I heard this morning we/Israel have bombed 3000 "things/locations"....... They have no air force, they have no navy......they have two of the biggest and most sophisticated militaries bombing them,,,,,,,they can't "win"
  17. Not sure how I'll get my fix next week. lol
  18. I hope you’re right. Trump and the Admin have repeatedly said that troops on the ground remain on the table. I’m concerned that Iran hasn’t already rolled over. I wonder if they’re doing the old rope-a-dope and letting us burn through our munitions and willingness to fight before they come out to play. These things never work out as planned. It’s great to say “this time is different” because this is totally Trump with no other voices (congress, the public, the military) being brought in for discussion. What worries me is what will happen if Iran doesn’t give Trump the “unconditional surrender” that he’s demanding. Does he just bring our gear home and move on? Or does he have to make a bigger show of force by invading (which I kinda doubt) or by using even more aggressive tactics? Would he unleash a nuke? I think so. He doesn’t care about anything regarding financial cost or the value of human life as evidenced by everything that’s happened up to this point. Trump wasn’t kidding two weeks ago when he said “I can destroy any country that I want.” You’re seeing it in real time. We’re the Death Star, hippy.
  19. I will not be surprised at all if West Brook and United win by double digits.
  20. The Dow was at 45ish when Biden left office - It's still significantly higher today despite all that is going on. It comes down to if you support the exercise and the change of leadership (my guess is the son won't make it to the end of the month), and the outcome. While it is all up in the air right now, Arab countries coming together to fight Iran is not a bad thing. I think as long as Trump does not put boots on the ground, which he has already said he won't do, this will be a win. I think this will be over by end of month and prices will drop back.
  21. He played a couple more games and padded his stats against some of the weaker teams in district. Babin put up 2 or 300 yards on the regular and still had a higher completion percentage against teams that were expecting him to pass it while Foster caught teams slipping with payaction passes vs 10 in the box
  22. I could be wrong because of course no team makes it this far by coincidence but I’ve watched the Alamo heights/SA VM game and I think BU can beat them by way more ! As well as WB matchup I got them by way more also
  23. When I was gainfully employed, we were into the oil exploration side of things. It was a double edged sword in that, for our business to be successful, the price of crude had to be at a level where it was profitable to explore. This made for higher gas prices but steady employment. I’m not talking about wildcat wells on dry land. I’m talking about North Sea and deep sea exploration. The costs and danger are unbelievable. Some people don’t even realize what it takes sometimes to supply that pump for your SUV. You’re right, it’s a very fragile business.
  24. The Dow isn’t above 50,000 anymore, either. 46,700 at the moment. Don’t look at your 401k expecting so see what you had last time you checked. Some of this is a knee-jerk reaction, but if this conflict doesn’t resolve itself very soon, I think that these corrections will be of a more permanent nature and continue to worsen. The bad news about this volatility is that the high prices aren’t enough to trigger exploration and production here in the US because it can go away again with the stroke of a pen.
