Texas Senate Race -- Ken Paxton vs James Talarico
OlDawg replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
Sexual preference is one thing. Saying God gave you the wrong biological organs is a different matter. The latter is saying God screwed up, and no Presbyterian faith believes God is fallible. Talarico can’t justify body mutilation by his so-called tolerance and acceptance. He sure can’t justify it by the canons of his faith. He would have to believe God intended for the body mutilation to be necessary for some reason, and desired by God—since God is infallible. I’d love to hear him stand up and justify that one. - Today

Thanks for clearing it up. I just meant that your sources over there are reliable and others on here are just sharing "hear say" rumors. Whoever they use I am certain will be good. Sutherland usually puts together a well oiled offense. -

I do not know "all things EC". I rely on sources from EC. It's very possible that time will be split at the QB position but I understood that Fontenot will play QB. -

the site director on here who knows all things EC has already clearly stated that HE (Fontenot) was playing QB as he made it very clear. It's others on here, who have chimed in and said somebody else was playing qb, so I think some were just wondering where the confusion was. -

The Presbyterian view has changed in time so his views may not be too far off their doctrine. Google says; Presbyterianism does not have a single governing body, so positions on homosexuality differ among denominations. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (PCUSA), the largest U.S. Presbyterian body, allows the ordination of LGBTQIA+ individuals and permits ministers to perform same-sex marriages where legal, emphasizing full inclusion and advocacy for equal rights

Maybe first game jitters for BH or LP got MUCH better since last season, but that box score is surprising for sure.

I agree. Unless the transferred QB can score most if not all the points. I know Orangefield receivers are all returning. -

He said he’s a Christian who hates Christianity. He also says God is non-binary. That’s all I need to hear from that whacko. Nothing he says can erase that. -

This reminds me of Beto versus Cruz or Abbott...... IT will be the same result. Texas may turn blue, but it won't be this round -

The way I see it, he’s got 2 options. Either go against his faith and say God makes mistakes, or acknowledge that trans and self-identifiers have some serious mental issues. Either way, I don’t see him holding the high ground much better than Paxton. At least Paxton isn’t pretending to be a religious leader. -

Good question. I don’t know what he would answer. I think it’s all for confusion’s sake. -

I don’t usually get into religious discussions as beliefs are personal. But, I’ve been wondering how Talarico can have a Master of Divinity from a Presbyterian aligned University, be a church leader as a member of the Presbyterian Church, and believe trans, and surgery to alter your sex is okay. Presbyterians believe God is infallible. This doesn’t seem to square. I haven’t heard anyone ask this question to Talarico. I’d be curious of his answer. -

Him and Reagan don’t respond to me no more. It’s hard to respond to facts as they would say. They always deflect the post by trying to attack the source or post a laughing emoji.

This comment was back in April. Trump NEVER had a plan, but somehow tricked his supporters for the billionth time that it was in fact part of the master plan (that us mere mortals could never comprehend)
