West Brook players were wrong to even go over there in the first place, and I’m sure that’ll be handled. But no adult should ever be going back and forth with a kid. That’s a lack of emotional intelligence and maturity. Now social media is full of think pieces from grown people blaming refs, blaming coaches, blaming everything except the truth. Why are we so afraid to let our kids fail? This is exactly why this generation struggles — too many adults want to hold their hands and shield them from every stone thrown their way. Life is harder than a basketball game. Let’s teach them how to stand on two feet, hold their heads high, and handle defeat with character. That’s how you build young men, not by protecting them from every uncomfortable moment.
