  1. Past hour
  2. Where is that addressed in the bill? I have not heard that criticism.
  3. Turf is a better choice than the asphalt track. Everyone would agree. Grass is much better. I stated if those were the only two choices, then obviously the turf would be the better choice. Some common sense is better than no common sense.
  4. I normally steer clear from this board, but I figured I'd add some context for this bill since there's a good chance it could directly affect my job. I work in the nonprofit world. I know no one on here cares about those organizations near as much as they do about medicaid, but the OBBB could be detrimental (in a variety of ways) for a lot of nonprofits that do wonderful work in our communities. For example, the excise taxes my organization pays on investment income will more than triple if this bill passes in the Senate. A lot of nonprofits won't be able to foot those types of tax hikes and maintain adequate funding to carry on their mission. *gets off soapbox*
  5. Today
  6. I wasn't referring to the options given to the kids dude. I was referring to the options of areas available for him to have the kids do the exercise in.
  7. Never said it was. Just pointed out the hypocrisy of pointing out someone else's lack of common sense meanwhile suggesting turf which isn't much better
  8. If you are saying that a grass or dirt field was another choice, then common sense was definitely not used in this situation.
  9. Anybody with common sense,if you don’t believe it then go record your self doing it and show it to us…maybe you would agree hot asphalt will melt your hands before you realize it’s hot, turf will tell you hey this is hot
  10. Everything I’ve read says there were only 2 choices,do a tik tok challenge or do a workout?
  11. There's more than 2 choices
  12. Good for you 👍
  13. If I have to do bear crawls and my only two choices is do them on is an asphalt track or wood chip filler turf, I am taking the turf each and every time. But I have common sense. If I am a coach and my choices are an asphalt track or a wood chip filler turf to have my athletes do bear crawls on, I am choosing the turf. But I have common sense. FYI, Woodville ISD and any other schools that have the wood chip filler turf fields have to put water on these fields regularly to keep the wood chips from getting too dry. This keeps them cooler than the rubber filler turf fields. I am 100% certain that the field at Eagle Stadium was cooler than the track that day.
  14. You are right, all the people on this site are weird except for one. I am glad I am one of the weird.
  15. Trying to lead the convo elsewhere? Looks like your just getting upset about points being made about a topic you claim you have no ties to. Yall weird on here
  16. Now you just sound like your trying to point fingers or lead the convo elsewhere with your unnecessary points to try to disqualify common sense. i played both sports and coached both sports….that’s irrelevant….doesnt take a football only guy to understand HOT + FLESH = BURN…..a 2 year old learns this pretty quick in life. So nice try. i can see this is going no where. ✌️
  17. Another brilliant analogy: multiple complaints = multiple to the ER. Keep them coming.
  18. I think your probably a bball guy and bear crawls in general are more of a football thing anyway. The guy you quoted was suggesting the field next to the track which is turf.
  19. Turf does not get hotter than asphalt
  20. Well I never heard of it and I ve been around the block…..maybe it’s a woodville thing. not sure if your referencing others but I never once said anything about turf. I was at la Porte in mid 2000s when we got turf and yeah it felt like my soles on my shoes were melting off.
  21. It's not the most popular thing but it's not completely unheard of. My point is a track is not a good idea but turf is not much better. So pointing out a lack of common sense while suggesting turf doesn't make sense to me
  22. In all my years of playing and coaching I ve never seen or been part of a program that had athletes do bear craws on a track.
  23. I played sports in high school and college then I coached for 15 years. I ve been part of many strength and conditioning programs…I used common sense all those years and still do. dont know the guy. don’t have any feeling either way on him, but come on we all know what it feels like when human flesh touches something hot….like running across concrete or asphalt barefooted. We have all learned that at a young age. no not super critical just using common sense. it is what it is….he made a poor decision due to not using common sense. U can make it out to what u want. I’m not here to talk about the guys character or anything or talk bad about him.
  24. What exactly is the tik tok challenge is the big question,it may be the fact of doing bear crawls ON A HOT TRACK
  25. Bro I really don't feel like even entertaining you because your motives aren't genuine at all but to answer your question there was only one girl complaining at Caldwell because there was only one girl participating in the exercise. Meanwhile there were 10 complaints about a bear crawl incident in Crandall a couple years back.
  26. I 100% disagree with that last sentence.
