Always bad coaching- you can blame everything on the players but actually you work all week and you’ve had those kids for years and if you don’t know how they’re going to react to those situations then that is a poor job of coaching whether it’s the head coach coordinator or individual coaches. That’s why I’m so upset at Coach Sark at the University of Texas because he seems to blame arch for Coach sark calling plays that keeps him in the pocket with no offensive line. If a kid drops a wide open pass for a touchdown – – you can blame the kid. If a kid puts his head down, close his eyes and misses an open field tackle that allows the other team to score – – you can blame the kid, but Anytime you got such a big lead like that I’m sorry that’s poor coaching. And again I’ve been in that profession for 38 years and I’ve seen and been a part of Gray coaching and I’ve been a part of pathetic coaching. And usually it reflects back to the Head Coach. Martins Mill Tournament Game 1 Final Brookeland short 1 starter coming into Martins Mill Tournament, still a solid showing with the lead at half time 24-19.

They’re not a pushover. Their big weakness on defense is they aren’t super good at tackling, especially in the open field. Listening to them, I think they overrate their secondary. But their offense is statistically about as good as Dayton’s or Nederland’s. So, nothing special but plenty enough to slow us down. We just need to be patient and avoid the temptation to go for big long passing plays. They’re saying they want us to pass because they think they’re tough enough to punch us in the mouth and shut us down, and they’re hoping a new qb gives them turnovers. I say we run it so hard and so much that they’re begging us to pass.

It's really not a BISD thing but that plays a little into it. Lamar just doesn't care to host high school games. Maybe that thought process has changed with new admins but they made it clear a few years ago that they wanted no part of that business. Was charging a very high price for rental of stadium and then supplied really nothing as far as concessions or security.
