John Kennedy was shot, was he a democrat or republican?

He was a Democrat who was shot by a socialist. A little more than 50 years after his death, coincidentally now about 75% of Democrats are socialists. Strange how that worked out.

Out of all this talk about the shooting .....

How about those two police officers that from news reports, ran across open ground to engage the suspect. They likely had only handguns against a rifle.  In combat that is a terrible mismatch that should not be undertaken however these two dedicated police officers  did just that.  They could have sought cover behind the dugout, called for help and be the last line of defense for the people around them.  To do so would not be cowardly. Those officers did not take that option.  They went into the fight completely out gunned.

What likely would have been double digit fatalities, including those police officers, turned out to only have one death… the suspect.

With overwhelming odds against them they ran toward the fight.  That was an unbelievable display of courage and call to duty.

Thank you my brother and sister.

The ethnicity question is on there for identification purposes.

Is a background check for the purpose of identification? People will say that it aides in investigations, but is that the purpose of background checks? Isn't the whole purpose to determine who is qualified to own a gun? If you say that it's to help in identification then we might as well have a full blown gun registration.

I am saying that if you have two John Smiths living in Beaumont and one is black and the other is white, it might be easy to see which is which on the background if there is an issue.   Almost everything in law-enforcement is broken up by race and sex.

If you were trying to find an ulterior motive for the question, I don't believe it's there.  We say black, white, Hispanic, Asian, male and female so much that is hard to listen to cops off duty talking about the any situation without everybody that they are talking about being identified by race or sex when the reality you have nothing to do with a story.

Nobody is a powerhouse in our district. I think if he can take BH 2 or 3 rounds deep that's pretty dang good. Crosby has been past the 2nd round once since 2009 and I would say they have a pretty good program. I still think BH will be at the top of our district within the next 3 years.

Well...first off I didn't say that every school that didn't have a turf field was "bass ackwards and didn't give a damned about its athletic program".  I probably most certainly implied that schools with nice facilities set a certain level of importance to their program.  I think that most schools in the area are of the opinion that their field is "good enough".  I know that having a turf field doesn't make you an automatic winner.  But it is a draw.  Facilities is just another reason for a family to want their child to attend a certain school.  Which could have benefits. Obviously.   And no.  I didn't select 10 years as an example because of average longevity of a turf field.  I used it because it's just a nice, even, relevant number.  But honestly your money breakdown makes my argument look even better.  No...300K is NOT that much money for a turf field.  Yeah maybe it won't literally pay for itself but knowing the cost of maintaining a grass field makes it a lot more attractive.  Plus you're forgetting the fact that you can make revenue off of it via hosting playoff games and such.  Maybe not enough to make up the difference but every little bit helps. As far as Silsbee's operating cost.  I have no idea.  But there does have to be a way because a lot of schools find the way to get it done.  Maybe Silsbee is top heavy.  Most schools around here are (seemingly) spending a ton of money on administration.  I don't know.  But like I said...schools are finding a way to do it yearly.  So it's not impossible.

Cougar14.2 is right, that's why I see us being a playoff contender most years, but to think we will be a powerhouse is insane thinking. I think for the most part, parents are good being in the playoff mix every year, but nobody thinks we're running the tables to Dallas. If we avoid PAM, we could go 2 to 3 rounds, but that's pushing it. I think at the end of the day, most parents are good with that being the limit for now. I may just be talking out of the side of my neck though. lol
