Congratulations to all the kids who were named. A special CONGRATULATIONS to my Panthers and especially "Mr. Excitement"  ;D who made the 1st team for 2 positions.

Mr. Excitement, By far is one of the best rb's to come through ozen. he may have been small in stature but he played like a GIANT. Sure will miss seeing #1 juke and joke. Im sure what ever school he dicides to go to he will make a impact on the program. Good luck in all you do

I wonder will Tony Brown be happy with that 2nd team safety award?
It is what it is - won't matter much what Tony's level of happiness is.  Go stir something in the Kingwood area. ::)
I'm sure Tony Brown doesn't care much about an all district award. He'll have an All-America award next year along with several million dollars in his early 20's. Kid is one of the top few db's in the country for the 2014 class.

62 JJ, I don't think the guy was being cocky when he stated "don't get hung up on position". Think he just misinterpreted your question. To answer your question, some time in the 90's they stopped placing all MVPs and any other superlative awards within the first team. This gave them an opportunity to place a few extra kids on first team. As far a Montana Quiranta goes he may or may not have been the best QB or LB, but he was hands down the Most Valuable Player in the district excelling both ways. If you were playing Vidor that coming Friday Night, you spent much of the week centered around him on both sides of the ball.

1800 yards rushing, 30 TDs and starting middle linebacker on anybody's defense. I'm really gonna miss 'Tana. The greatest football player in Vidor Pirate history, hands down. Thanks for all the memories Mr. Quirante. I sure hope the Aggies have made you an offer....
