[/quote]As far as size goes Newtons offense was bigger than Silsbee's D. Silsbee's D has no big standouts as usual. They [b]ALL[/b] do their jobs very well.  Hats off to the coaching. Hicks , shane,Drake, Woodard do an outstanding job of making sure of that.  But I agree with Newton's Depth. It is very hard to go that many plays in a row and not have the people to change out. Scrimmages will get you in shape for sure.

Newton will be fine. The two plays that silsbee scored on long passes was a bust in coverage by a sophmore who is still learning the system. Newton always struggles in there first scrimmage trying to get everything worked out. They will be ready come week zero. Dont look into it kville fans you struggled today against HF and Deweyville its not like yall dominated those two teams.

Don't look to much into a scrimmage for Newton they never play very well in scrimmages thats why you don't see Newton fans seeming to worried about it. They will be good to go in week zero I gurantee you that. Talked to Coach Hickman after the scrimmage last night he said they been working on Newton stuff since the first week of practice so they were treating it more like a real game. If that would of been a game Newton would of played better becuase they would of had there system in place for silsbee. Polls don't mean anything until december when the season ends.

It was a scrimmage and its time to realize that,  having problems vs a bigger school in a scrimmage is going to happen simply cause of dept and also Newton has alot of underclassmen on the roster. I'd really be worried if we struggled against deweville or HF. They really not known for there depth.

Also if you look at last years rushing stats you will see that we dominated, compelling over 5000 yards between all three RETURNING starters.And fort the kirbyville fans thats dogging newton apparently ur in a dream cause kirbyville would be better off not stepping of the bus at newton this year their wasting their time but they gotta play. Newton will put up big numbers on offense. Newton 48 Kirbyville 12, we might score more though.And btw you should be noticing whos usually the only team left in Southeast Texas come playoff time around here is Newton.We should get way more credit. We will go at least three rounds in the playoffs lets see what ya do lol

Just two weeks of practice? Isn't that the same for Silsbee? Also, Silsbee was trying out new players in positions as well.

So Silsbee wouldn't stand a chance later in the year? That wasn't the case last year. ::)

From what I saw in that scrimmage, it wouldn't matter when these two teams actually played a game, Silsbee would most likely win. It was obviously evident in the performance of these two teams in the scrimmage Friday night. Silsbee has the better team and it showed.
