Congrats to Byant. But just for fun, lets compare stats from maxPreps.

Not to take anthing away from Bryant. Seen him play, great bat, a legit threat at the plate. But awards do not equal wins and there are a LOT of good players out there without the awards, this is just one example.... :)

I dont know about "weak".  Yes I admit the outlook has changed and this next 2 years in 3a will be quite a task.  But as long as Buna is in 2a...they will dominate. 6 straight district titles shows more than just a string of good athletes. It shows a good program and a town with good baseball players at all levels. No team in that 2a district fields better teams than Buna 1 through 9.

I agree they were good and I think Buna will do fine in 3a this year as far as there district JMO

Bridge City and Silsbee are the front runners for that district

Agreed! sorry Coug

No offense taken, I know what ya meant. Buna has competed with and even beaten majority of those 3a teams over the past 6 years...but EVERY district ballgame will be a 7 inning dogfight this year for the cougs. Buna will be an average 3a team in this district. Behind BC and Silsbee i feel Buna has a great shot at 3rd. But...so does HF, OF, and HJ. That 2a district has gotten more and more competitive over the last several years. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. As much as i hate to say it,  id say Kountze has a good shot at winning it. Dville and Hardin will make it interesting. Good luck to our former 2a opponents, Keeping my fingers crossed for next realignment. Eager to get back down to 2a  ;D

***This is copy and pasted from another thread and it was a comment on a subject presented by UTFAN06 In respect to pitching within district and I just expanded on that***on top of Ethan Franklin as a Soph. throwing 86 according to perfect game you have another Soph. Austin Marshall for Kountze throwing 85 from the left according to perfect game. Both Soph. this year returning as 1st team all district players as Fresh. and still have  Jr. and Sr. years left. On top of that Kountze will have three more Soph. on the bump...another lefty (Fregia) and two more right handers (Whisenhant and Logion). Add a bit of senior help in Braden Franklin and couple of more, Kountze will be pretty salty. If anything next year and the following should be down right salty...now for the late additions that will be game changers: As soon as Basketball is done Graylan Arnold, Darrion Harper and Justin Harper will be in the mix. If you want to talk about run production, that will not be in short supply either, but no sense waving that flag now because the proof will be in the puddin in about 1 and a 1/2 months. Now for you guys who think I am running the wild with the Kountze is gonna win it all rant; I am not saying other teams in the district don't have equal talent and abilities. As a matter of fact I think this year will be a very tough race for district and we will be strong as a district in playoffs. Just hope and pray all the kids in the district stay health and without injury, because we have a bunch of talented kids!
