New Supt. told us to clean out underneath the bleachers in the gym and haul everything to the dump. There were several boxes of old trophies.....One I remember was 1927. A first place cup trophy about six inches high.......showed we had beat Silsbee for the championship game at a Sam Houston Tourney.....kept it for a while and later lost it. In the last 39 years, only 4 times have the Tigers failed to make the playoffs. One of those years was 1982, my senior year. Back then only 1 team went to the playoffs and we tied Hebert for district after splitting with them, but lost to them in the district playoff game. Hebert went on to win state that year.
