La Vega’s Parr arrested in Waco burglary

By Paula Blesener | Tuesday, January 13, 2009, 01:04 PM

For the second time this school year, La Vega High School star running back, 17-year-old Christopher Parr, has been arrested and is being booked into the McLennan County Jail.

Waco police say Parr was arrested at school today and charged with burglary of a habitation for what officers say was his role in the Dec. 16 burglary of a unit at the Oak Tree Apartment complex on 800 Rambler Drive.

Officers say shoes, jewelry, electronics and a pistol were taken from the apartment.

In November, the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office decided not to prosecute aggravated robbery charges against Parr after he passed a polygraph test. The Bellmead teen was accused in August of robbing at gunpoint a 19-year-old man of his shoes and hat on the 5200 block of Concord Road in Bellmead.

After Bellmead police arrested Parr the next day, he attended the district’s alternative school after bonding out of jail. Parr played in the Pirates’ playoff games.

Still trying to figure out how he escaped the consequences from the last incident.  I will only say that if he was involved (which I would find it almost unheard of for a star athlete to be accused of two separate, serious incidents and not be somewhat at fault), LaVega coaches need to grow some and do the right thing.  Of course, isn't this the same team that intentionally lost their last game in order to go D1 because they thought that the path would be easier?
