1. Nice!  WO-S has a amazing ability (well, their athletes) to have Mustangs step up each year to fill the previous year's void left by graduating seniors.  We'll be fine either way, but welcome back Mr. Shaw.  Keep the streak alive.
2.
Compassion is different than organizing, transporting and coaching players during the summer...guess if you want to call cheating, compassion, go ahead.
Please.  You really believe that all of these 7-on-7 teams don't have a coach or two or three behind the scenes organizing and planning somehow?  YES.  And, trust me, they are "coaching" during these practices or games too.  If they really investigated...7-on-7 would not longer exist.  And this Jerry Jordan needs a life besides taking pics of ONE team and then making some pretty serious accusations.
3. Prayers from the Mustang community.  Thank you Mr. Maddox for your ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue to enjoy our freedom here!
4. Congratulations to the North team who defeated the South team 39-29 on Tuesday, July 30 at TCU.  Three local athletes played in the game for the South team:  J'Marcus Rhodes from WO-S, Chevoski Collins from Livingston and Hunter Bergeron from Anahuac.  Great job and good luck in the next stage of your life-wherever that takes you!
5. Wow is all I can say.  What is a reporter doing taking pictures of minors at 7 a.m.?  Kind of creepy. Personally, since 7-on-7 is not a school-sanctioned event, I don't see why coaches cannot transport.  I understand liability issues, but seriously...students cannot be transported in school vehicles (or they are not supposed to be).  Mark and Toby Foreman are good people.  Sad that they are being attacked before they even get started.  And we wonder why people dislike reporters and the media.
6. Just wanted to say congratulations to the Mustangs for representing WO-S well.  They finished 2nd to Celina.  Not too shabby boys!  We cannot see what next year brings!!!
7. 'Stangs looked good today!  Congrats!  4x400m relay (boys) qualified for 9th spot.  Girls 4x200m relay 2nd-headed to state.
8. We realize that and so should others.  And to the statement that it has nothing to do with anything Silsbee did...it has everything to do with what Silsbee and WO-S did.  And yes, there were no WO-S tracksters involved.  Maybe the adults should get the facts and then consider both sides before passing judgements.  But, that would too much to ask.  LOL
9. As I said, I feel confident that those involved from WO-S will be disciplined.  I hope that the same is true of Silsbee.  Thugs? Really?  Nice one.  And, wrong again, I am definitely not one of those parents who makes excuses for my boys because I know that does them no favors.
10. WO-S and Silsbee both need to get a handle on this.  This has been brewing since the January basketball game in which there was a major brawl involving students and parents/fans...from both schools.  We sent extra police protection and staff when WO-S played at Silsbee in February because of threats made on social media.  WO-S will handle their kids involved in this, but Silsbee needs to do the same.  No one went to the media when the majority of the Silsbee team showed up at our first playoff game at EC and tried to fight.  No one went to the media or pressed charges when a car full of kids in an orange Mustang followed a SUV full of Mustang fans and threw stuff, hitting their car because they had hoped all the hype on social media would settle down.  Those involved need to be handled firmly and abruptly because that type of behavior is unacceptable.  I have confidence that our students will be held accountable, as they should be.
11. Before anyone judges and places blame solely on WO-S, there is more to the story.
12.

Well what makes it not ligit is that fact that he ran a hand held time, which if it was a TRUE 10.4 he would be ranked number 1 in the state of texas, and the 2nd place finisher would be in the top 10 in state as well with a high 10.57.. the odds of these times being considered ligit are very slim because the number ranked highschool sprinter in the nation cameron burrel won TSU Relays with an FAT 10.3
Wonder if Cameron Burrell is related to Leroy Burrell from UH and the Olympics?
13. Discipline is the key:  on and off of the court.  Stay focused and the outcome might have been different.
14. Congrats Mustangs!  Not shocked that Laquarious Paige was MVP!  Can't wait to see the Mustangs next year!!!  Only two seniors lost!
15.
This is actually the 2012 Lamar roster.  (I took the seniors off the list, since they will not be playing in 2013, so you will not see them.)  Also each player's classification will be higher for the 2013 season.  In other words if this list says they are a freshman, they will be a sophomore for the 2013 season.  Also, I do not have the new group of players on this list.  However, according to the Lamar football website, there are 20 new players coming in and 3 have SETX ties.  Lamar Cardinals NO  NAME  POS  HT  WT  CLASS  HOMETOWN 0  Jacory Augustine  DB  6-3  190  FR  LAKE CHARLES, LA 0  Colby Carpenter  DB  6-0  180  SO  BRIDGE CITY, TX 0  David Dunkin  QB  5-11  190  FR  AUSTIN, TX 1  Nashon Davis  DB  6-3  205  JR  KATY, TX 3  Barry Ford  WR  6-1  175  JR  HOUSTON, TX 4  Tyrus McGlothen  DB  5-8  175  JR  GRAND PRAIRIE, TX 5  Ryan Mossakowski  QB  6-4  215  JR  FRISCO, TX 8  Mike Venson  RB  5-9  160  JR  KATY, TX 9  Mike Hargis  LB  6-3  225  FR  AUSTIN, TX 10  Jermaine Longino  LB  5-10  220  JR  HOUSTON, TX 11  Kevin Johnson  WR  6-0  210  SO  HOUSTON, TX 12  Caleb Berry  QB  6-2  195  SO  NEEDVILLE, TX 13  Kye Hildreth  WR  6-1  175  JR  NAVASOTA, TX 14  DePauldrick Garrett  RB  5-8  190  JR  ORANGE, TX 15  Oluwajimi Oyefeso  WR  6-3  215  JR  PASADENA, TX 17  Dillon Barrett  QB  6-3  220  FR  DRY PRONG, LA 18  Davion Wolford  WR  5-11  170  SO  STAFFORD, TX 19  Matt Bergeron  QB  5-11  180  FR  MANDEVILLE, LA 19  Keinon Peterson  DB  5-8  190  JR  DICKINSON, TX 20  Michael Handy  WR  5-11  185  FR  CONROE, TX 21  Branden Thomas  DB  5-9  170  JR  BEAUMONT, TX 23  Payton Ploch  WR  6-2  215  JR  DAYTON, TX 24  Jacob Hanna  TE  6-0  220  JR  LUMBERTON, TX 25  Gratian Gladney  WR  5-9  165  FR  HOUSTON, TX 25  Kollin Kahler  P  6-2  200  JR  WACO, TX 26  Chad Allen  DB  5-11  190  JR  COLDSPRING, TX 27  Caleb Harmon  RB  5-9  200  JR  PORT NECHES, TX 28  Herschel Sims  RB  5-8  215  SO  ABILENE, TX 30  Darrell Harris  RB  5-11  185  FR  WACO, TX 30  George Orebe  DB  5-9  165  SO  HOUSTON, TX 32  Anthony Beard  LB  6-1  235  SO  LUMBERTON, TX 33  Desmond Richards  RB  5-9  170  FR  MONTGOMERY, TX 34  Josh Wilson  DB  5-7  185  SO  BEAUMONT, TX 35  Joe Okafor  DL  6-6  295  SO  BELLAIRE, TX 37  Courtlin Thompson  DB  6-1  210  JR  LANCASTER, CA 38  Garrett Drake  WR  6-2  185  FR  SILSBEE, TX 39  Justin Stout  K  6-1  170  JR  MESQUITE, TX 40  Xavier Bethany  DB  6-1  180  FR  BURTON, TX 41  Jestin White  LB  6-4  190  SO  HOUSTON, TX 43  Chris Maikranz  LS  6-6  255  JR  SUGAR LAND, TX 44  Ronnie Jones Jr.  LB  5-10  240  FR  HEMPSTEAD, TX 45  Joshua James  LB  5-10  190  SO  SILSBEE, TX 46  Alex Ball  K  6-3  240  FR  WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA 47  P.J. There are 25 players on this list from SETX.  Add the 3 players that are going to be on the team for 2013.  That makes 28 players on the 2013 roster from SETX. Total players: 95 Players from SETX: 28 29% of the 2013 Lamar roster played high school football in SETX.  That's a little less than 1/3 of the entire roster. Lamar is recruiting and signing players from SETX.  Some are even walking on and making the team.  So, jkbtjc53, what is your real problem with Lamar, Coach Woodard and the rest of his staff?
Actually, you can take DePauldrick Garrett's name off of that list because he graduated in December and was told that he would not qualify for a medical redshirt because he would be hard-pressed to win a 6th year.  It befuddles me because he was redshirted his first year at Navarro and then had the season-ending shoulder injury two years ago.  Players win those 6th years all of the time.  Of course, he was not even on a full-scholarship until last summer...he was on a partial.  There are some things that are taking place that put a very bad taste in people's mouths.  Instead of sticking with talent and players that had proven themselves in the past and sticking to his word that they would be on full scholarships, he stuck his neck out there and recruited the kids from OSU.  I was not surprised when Sims left the team after his court appearance and disposition.  If Lamar keeps up its current practices, this program will have the same fate as the 1980's program.  I hate to see it because it does provide an arena for kids to continue playing football while earning their degrees.
