Malcomb Bronson

First time to see him play. The kid has MLB written all over him. If there is another high school player in the area who is more dominating at the plate, let me know.

Repeating myself, but last year the coaches mostly had him bunting and using his speed.  Now they don't bother with that, obviously.  :)  He is a winner!

Malcolm is exciting to watch.  Explosive at the plate, dangerous  on the bases.  He has 33 runs, 31 hits, 32 RBI's, 13 extra bases, 7 homeruns and can beat out a bunt.  And crosses the plate with a big smile on his face--just has fun.

Wasn't there some hurdle and track stars named Bronson that came out of Jasper ? If so, is a brother, cousin, etc. ?

Bronsons.  Where to start?  Yes, one cousin excelled at track, helped Jasper to a state championship, ran in the 96 Olympics.  Another cousin excelled at QB, played a bit for Indianapolis Colts, then for the Houston Arena team.

His uncle also ran track with the track cousin, and played 8 years as a DB for 49'ers.  I probably have missed some more, but that is a start on the Bronsons.  Actually, I think there were four Bronsons on Jasper's 07 football team.

What a quandry for the opposing coach!  He can pitch to him, and maybe give up a HR.  He can walk him, and watch him steal second and third.  What's a coach to do?  ???

Thanks. Sounds like Malcom must have good genes.  ;D

I can't think of anyone....What's Bronsons' middle name?  He could actually be "MLB". (Please excuse me for that one.)....Malcolm is special. When you see him at the plate, watch him run the bases, you know you are looking at a "ball player".  Seems like a great kid too.  Will be keeping up with him long after high school.

I'm sold....I'm going to try and see this young man play this year....schedules permitting of course.

Yes, he signed with McNeese to play football and baseball.

The most spectacular thing I ever saw him do was against BC last year.  He bunted, and was standing on first before BC defense could even pick up the baseball in front of the plate.

I am happy to see that he is getting some notice this year.  I think he may have been "under the radar" last year.

    • Fly-out to RF ends the inning.  3 outs for a trip to the regional finals/state quarterfinals.     Chester up 11-8.  Brookeland coming to the plate with 2-3-4.
    • Nicholls as you all likely know must lose to McNeese tomorrow for Lamar to be the out right conference champion. That is what most of us want to see.   With that said here's an odd scenario that could happen. There are 3 games left in conference play as Northwestern is playing out of conference and 2 of the 4 series are complete.  The aforementioned Nicholls vs McNeese and 2 games in the UIW and HCU series are left to play. If Nicholls wins and UIW spilts with HCU there will be a 4 way tie for 5th. McNeese, Southeastern. Corpus, and UIW would all sit at 10-14.  No idea on the conference tie breaker for tournament seeds. Truly wish the conference had a better website that already stated this as well as the tiebreaker scenario.  It has been one fun season and see you all in Hammond Wednesday. Well, some of you. Go Cards!! Uncle Spidey...you da man!!!  Snakehead, thanks for the updates.  Everyone else, have a great summer and enjoy what's left of the college baseball season.
    • K for Chester to lead off.  Great diving catch in CF by Coulter for Brookeland for out 2.
    • Getting heated with the coaches for Brookeland and the umps.  I’m not quite sure what is going on.  Brookeland coaches contending the fans are cheering too loud.
    • Yeah… I was on a jury for a custody modification where the dad was accused of being inappropriate with the child by mom. Law enforcement wasn’t involved. The first thing one of the jurors said when we began deliberating was “I’m sorry… but they (the dad’s counsel) didn’t prove that he didn’t do it.”  Were you even listening to the instructions?
