Disagree for the 1,000 time. If they take the team that earned the conference championship instead of a team that got hot for thee games at a neutral court with MAYBE 1,000 fans in the stands you would see better results from the SLC.

As you just mentioned history, well history tells me when Lamar won all those games in the NCAA tournament games the SLC did not have a conference tournament. They just sent the conference champion.

Lord man, you are a piece of work. You just stated history repeats itself and now the SLC doesn't deserve a bid to the NCAA tournament. Thank God, there are more intelligent people running the thing or maybe they need to give you a call.  ::)

Look I had no idea you were so darn sensitive about Lamar basketball...My apologies..#%$*! Listen I said that I agreed with Bobby Knight, (another coach who just happened to have won 902 ncaa games in his career ::)) When he said that certain teams DONT BELONG IN THE TOURNEY...I agree...Lamar 2000, had no business there..period..I think some ACC, Big East, or SEC 4th, 5th or 6th place team that had to go to the NIT should have gotten the spot. If they do it that way the 64 BEST TEAMS will be in the tourney...However, I like it the way it is now, because certain teams will at least get a taste of the big time if only for a day...Good for the game....Next point, this is NOT FOOTBALL...You CAN prepare for a team in 2 days if you are given film in a timely manner. (uh, the HS State Tournament..DUH... ::)) Been there done that buddy, WITH "the great" Coach Boutte, as you sarcastically called him....so save that excuse...SFA got beat like a drum...They peaked way too soon, and did not progress past their great regular season accolades (i.e OU win)..There could have been other factors, but I was not there, so I can't intelligently tell you..Dude, dont challenge me..You will always lose.

Actually, no..I think that would water down the tournament...I am a huge Bob Knight/ Coach K follower...I read their material, watch their video, attend their clinics...Those two have a LOT of wisdom...However, that does not mean that I agree with EVERYTHING that comes from their mouths regarding opinions...You wanna arm wrestle or something?...sounds like you wanna get something off your chest, bro-ham!! 8)

There are 20 teams every year that "don't belong" in the tourney.  I assume when you say they dont belong, you mean they don't have any chance of winning it.  Maybe it should go back to 32 teams.

BINGO, AMIGO!!!! ;D..However, I think it should stay as it is...There is nothing better than March Madness...NOTHING!!

Lamar did not belong in that Tourney... It was one of its more talented teams but the coaching was very suspect.... Now I say if you win a mid major D1 Conference you should go to the Dance...  Not a 1 and out tournament.....  That is where I draw the line... If you have dominated your mid major confernce all year long you go to the dance...  If there is a tie then you have a one game playoff...  The mid major conference tourny should be for sh!+s and grins...

Well Sweet played in the NBA....The whole top five were NBA players at one point or another....Sneed was a beast, no denying that, but he was probably the sixth best ever in SE Texas, and that aint half bad!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
