spidersal Posted Tuesday at 07:24 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 07:24 PM The answer is simple. A culture change and good coaches. Neumann did it and he had several good assistants like pate and Spell. It is obvious that the dogs do not have a whole lot of talent, but you can overcome that through hard work and having football since. Those things can be taught. When you have a ton of penalties and are known around the area as playing dirty you want win many games. Also, you have to teach how to have success after several losing seasons. PNG doesn’t seem to have a problem with that. Why, because they hired a coach that believes in defense 1st and he has very good assistant coaches. Unfortunately Nederland does not! Quote

spidersal Posted yesterday at 02:52 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:52 AM So where is this talent that just gave up 33 points. If they had a little talent they would not have given up 33 points. So again if they have talent why are they play so poorly? Quote

So Newton, who gave up 44, has no talent? Palestine Westwood gave up 48, no talent? Lufkin gave up 59, no talent? Huntsville gave up 49, no talent? La Porte gave up 51, no talent? PN-G gave up 35, no talent? La Marque gave up 35, no talent? DeSoto gave up 38, no talent? Aledo gave up 28, no talent? Duncanville gave up 28, no talent? I could go on. It's pretty asinine to think that a team has no talent because they gave up 33 points in a football game. Particularly to a team that has a pretty good offense. NHSBulldogFan 1 Quote

Unfortunately Nederland does not! This was what turned things around here. Khelvy would still be running for 2k yards while we gave up... 48 Silsbee 58 Newton 49 Bellville 42, 44 La Vega 49 Carthage Only gave up 40+ 8x in previous 45 seasons btw. Im not being negative. Stating facts. Point is the staff can change philosophy and find traditional ways of winning again. Bashing "talentless" kids is worse than hating on coaches. It's not all about the "dudes" and they shouldn't be subject to that filth. NHSBulldogFan 1 Quote

Setxhasbeen Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago WOS will literally run away with this one. They’re the real deal this season and they’ll make a statement again this week. cal81 1 Quote
spidersal Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Ole Aggiesarewe has all the answers. I really don’t think all the teams you mentioned have been averaging giving up about 35 a game for the past several years. Since you seem to have all the answers, you tell me why they have been playing so bad for the past several years. Is it turnovers, penalties, injuries, poor coaching, a lack of talent. I could go on and on Quote
FrodoNDN Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Nederland looks pretty solid. WHo is the starting RB? #10? Quote

rvbulldogs Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I would put Ned back at safety. He gets dinged up too much at the RB position. He was a beast on defense as a sophomore. I really hope Nederland surprises us real soon but I’m just not sure. Quote

spidersal Posted 48 minutes ago Report Posted 48 minutes ago I certainly understand what your saying which is a good point, however when you average giving up that type of average for several seasons in a row, I question talent level, coaching, and team’s mentality. I would imagine you would have a lot of doubts about winning when you have been losing for several years with most games not even being close Quote

Your 35 point average is a bit off. Quote
