Yes it does. That is the rate for a FBS QB. Lineman signed by Baylor will be millionaires also.

OT: 500k-1.5million

based on whatever the highest/lowest for each across the board.

based on: 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 TE, 2 OT, 3 IOL, 3 WR you are looking at an average of 6,675,000 for a starting offense at the P4 level
and,
2 DE, 2 DT, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S: 4,275,000

so just about 11 million for starters.

Wow, did not realize there was that much money paid to athletics . Seems the richer schools should come out on top. Seems like college is no longer about education but about money.

Has been this way for a long-time.  It's just now "public info" and premiums are being paid.    All of the power 5 pay well and because of that, they win at a high-clip.  These players 30-45% will play on Sundays, so they have to stay ahead of the pack.  The common folk truly have no idea how much money is involved.  Arch Manning was worth around 6-8 million before he stepped foot on campus.  That's just one example.

No it doesn't, the only player making over $1M on Baylor's roster is DJ Lagway who was a 5* coming out of high school and started two years in the SEC. The only way you get those NIL numbers listed above are to be an elite high school recruit or a big time transfer that produced at your previous stop. A low rated 4* or a 3* is going to have to earn their money once they get to campus. Prior to Baylor signing Lagway this year they signed Walker White from the portal who was a top 5-8 QB in the nation before singing with Auburn out of high school, he's already out the door again on the way to Central Arkansas. I highly doubt he's collected $300k after three years on P4 rosters.  

Baylor has had three players drafted in the last four years which is basically when the NIL era kicked off, two have been linemen. If you're good enough to make "millions" in the trenches in college you're most likely getting drafted. Outside of a guy Baylor is willing to overpay for in the portal from time to time to get him to Waco nobody they're willing to pay that type of money to would actually stay there because better teams/playoff contenders would pay more.

What's even crazier is that if you're only paying your starters $11M you have little to no chance of even contending for a P4 conference championship in this environment. Indiana was the outlier because a bunch of their team transferred from James Madison with the coach and weren't sought-after NIL guys. I love that the players are getting paid now but it's also kind of disappointing that the influx of money has led to the strip-mining of high end talent from the lesser conferences. Never again will you be able to turn on a MAC game on a random Wednesday night in November and watch a Chad Pennington hook up with Randy Moss in the snow or stay up late watching Derek Carr hook up with Devante Adams at Fresno St. in a WAC game.

If a player makes $300k + per year, what will he be in 4 years? Having earned >$1.2 million?

You're not giving a 3* high school QB $300k a year just for his signature at a lower tier P4 school. He would be very lucky to get $100k as a freshman from Baylor. That's why I pointed out that even a high school All-America transfer QB from the SEC is already headed out. I'm sure he would've gladly accepted $300k-$600k to wait in line behind Lagway versus transferring to a mid-major where he would be doing well to get $50k a year. These teams have GM's now and unless you're a school with extremely deep pockets you're not paying a kid $1M to sit on the bench and develop. Long before a coach with his job on the line like Aranda gives an unproven high school commodity $300K per year to be a depth player they would just go get another one of these experienced guys from the portal like they did with DJ.

No offense, and I am sure you have good information but I will defer to the Baylor coach on this one. FYI, some similar schools have offered $500k to the same level recruits.

Yeah, I'm speaking from experience of having buddies and relatives who currently have kids playing at P4 and G6 schools. IDK how much you follow recruiting but you can see on that list that even some of the most elite QB recruits in Texas over the past few years have already hit the portal. Pretty sure most would've stayed like the old days if they were being paid millions just to be a depth player instead of ending up at Abilene Christian two years after you make the Elite 11

I keep up with it somewhat and have been privy to the conversations with current recruits. Baylor specifically said $300k range for DLs. Another similar SEC school said $500k for DLs.

Pretty sure Dre'lon Miller of Silsbee, who was a 4-5 star out of high school, who just transferred to Baylor from Colorado, is not making $300-500 K at Baylor this season.

Could be wrong. I can ask his father to be certain. Talk to him pretty regular.

Don’t know the circumstances for Miller but I am certain of the numbers I mentioned for DLs.
