Noticed DCTF actually called PA the Vikings in an recent article as well. Mr. Buddy Garrity and Reagan 1 1 Quote

Eagles12 Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 Have a friend I work with over in Livingston, Tarkington guy usually has all the information. They are keeping this one real close to the vest. Not much information coming out. Quote

CDub86 Posted Thursday at 02:10 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:10 PM Heard this morning that an internal candidate that applied isn’t returning next year. Looks like we will get an outside hire. Quote
scat_trap Posted Friday at 06:49 PM Report Posted Friday at 06:49 PM I think the best thing for the Prairie would be to follow the Westwood model and give Cody Wynn the AD and separate it from the head football coach. StoneCold316, WhoDat and CDub86 3 Quote

Eagles12 Posted Friday at 10:04 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:04 PM My source says he heard secondhand from one of the candidates that they are down to 2. No internal candidates made the top 6. Wouldn’t give a name but an assistant From a successful 6a is all I could get. CDub86 1 Quote

Bolder move than they were ever going to be willing to make. Would have been a ton of questions about, what does this mean for football? Or what about football? Current admin was never going to be willing to stand up to that. CDub86 1 Quote

It would be bold, but it would be the right decision for Tarkington. You have a good coach that's done a lot for their program and would support the other programs as well. A new football coach/AD will most likely last two years max and back to ground zero. The new guy will be their 6th head football coach in 10 years. CDub86 1 Quote

Don’t know who the other one is. However, getting good coaches has not been the issue. The issue is admin running good coaches off. CDub86 and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote
Kegger Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Splitting the role would immediately reduce the pool of applicants. There is a reason Head football coaches are typically combined with the AD role or Campus Coordinator role (Multi Middle and High School districts). It is the largest program and has the most moving parts. Splitting this would result in a noticeable pay cut and also probably put them back in the classroom. With as many things a HC has to account for and accomplish this would not be an attractive proposition. Now I am sure someone would still take the job. Also given the lack of production at Tarkington I get the idea but doing so would be the end of any hope of a competitive football program. Maybe some of Tarkington has given up hope already. Quote
